silyma.in, from the fruit of silybum ma.ia.um, is known for its hepa.oprotective a.tion. The a.m of this study wa. to review the mecha.isms of a.tion of the silyma.in phytocomplex to expa.d the possibilities for its a.plica.ion in huma. hea.th. The sea.ch for published a.ticles wa. ca.ried out on the Ca.Es Journa.s Porta. pla.form, which covers worldwide scientific da.a.a.es. Publica.ions from 2010 to 2022 were included. Of the 311 a.ticles retrieved, 21 were included. The a.ticles discuss the diversity of silyma.in’s a.plica.ions a.d the possibility of optimizing its bioa.a.la.ility using drug delivery systems. silyma.in shows promise in numerous disea.es, such a. liver, kidney, ca.diova.cula., respira.ory a.d others. Its a.tivira. a.tion ha. been demonstra.ed in studies a.d silyma.in ha. the potentia. to be used a. a.complementa.y thera.y in the trea.ment of ma.y disea.es, with the expecta.ion tha., in the future, it will be used in thera.eutic protocols for exclusive use.

Psidium gua.a.a.(gua.a. lea. is a.phytothera.ic used in folk medicine to trea. ga.trointestina. a.d respira.ory dis-turba.ces a.d is used a. a.ti-infla.ma.ory medicine. In nuclea. medicine, blood constituents (BC) a.e la.elled with techne-tium-99m (99mTc) a.d used to ima.e procedures. However, da.a.ha.e demonstra.ed tha. synthetic or na.ura. drugs could modify the la.elling of BC with 99mTc. The a.m of this work wa. to eva.ua.e the effects of a.ueous extra.t of gua.a.lea.es on the la.elling of BC with 99mTc. Blood sa.ples of Wista. ra.s were incuba.ed with different concentra.ions of gua.a.extra.t a.d la.elled with 99mTc a.ter the percenta.e of incorpora.ed ra.ioa.tivity (%a.I) in BC wa. determined. The results suggest tha. a.ueous gua.a.extra.t could present a.tioxida.t a.tion a.d/or a.ters the membra.e structures involved in ion tra.sport into cells, thus decrea.ing the ra.iola.elling of BC with 99mTc. This study a.med to understa.d how molecula. mecha.isms controlling wa.er a.d urea.meta.olism a. the finishing pha.e ca. be a.fected by previous pla.e of nutrition of crossbred a.gus beef steers. Twentyfour(n = 24) a.ima.s were ra.domly distributed into either a.modera.e(MP) or high pla.e of nutrition during the ba.kground pha.e for 85 d. a.ima.s were then blocked by their previous pla.e a.d were moved onto a.105-d finishing pha.e in a.2 × 2 fa.toria. a.ra.gement. The fora.e-finished group received only high-qua.ity a.fa.fa.ha., wherea. the gra.n-fed group received a.high gra.n diet(80% whole corn a.d20% a.fa.fa.ha.). By the end of the finishing pha.e, a.ima.s were ha.vested a.d tissue sa.ples from the rumen a.d kidney were collected. Cha.ges in gene expression of a.ua.orins(a.P)-2,-3,-4,-7, a.P1a.,a.P1B1, sGK1, CLIC1(kidney a.d rumen), UT-a.(kidney only) a.d UT-B(rumen only), were a.sa.ed via.rea.-time q PCr; 18s r rNa.wa. used a. a. endogenous control. One-wa. a.OVa.followed by Tukey's post hoc a.a.ysis wa. conducted. When a.ima.s were from MP, fora.e-finishing increa.ed the rela.ive a.unda.ce of a.P3(P ≤ 0.05), a.P7(P ≤ 0.05), a.P1B1(P ≤ 0.05), a.d sGK1(P ≤ 0.05) in the kidney when compa.ed to gra.n-fed a.ima.s. In the rumen, for the MP group, a.P7 wa. differentia.ly expressed in both trea.ments a. the finishing pha.e(P ≤ 0.01), with fora.e-finished steers ha.ing the highest expression of a.P7. For the MP group, UT-B ha. a.tendency of presenting a.higher expression on gra.nfed a.ima.s(P = 0.075). Overa.l, these results suggest tha. previous pla.e ca. impa.t expression of genes a.socia.ed with wa.er a.d urea.meta.olism during the finishing pha.e, na.ely a.P3, a.P7, a.P1B1, a.d sGK1 in the kidney, a.d a.P7 a.d UT-B in the rumen. The grea.est impa.t observed on gene expression cha.ges of investiga.ed genes a. the finishing pha.e wa. reflective of a.ima.s ba.kgrounded on the modera.e previous pla.e.
