In this study, we prove the of existence of solutions of a convolution Volterra integral equation in the space of the Lebesgue integrable function on the set of positive real numbers and with the standard norm defined on it. An operator P was assigned to the convolution integral operator which was later expressed in terms of the superposition operator and the nonlinear operator. Given a ball bb>rb> belonging to the space L it was established that the operator P maps the ball into itself. The Hausdorff measure of noncompactness was then applied by first proving that given a set M∈ b r the set is bounded, closed, convex and nondecreasing. Finally, the Darbo fixed point theorem was applied on the measure obtained from the set E belonging to M. From this application, it was observed that the conditions for the Darbo fixed point theorem was satisfied. This indicated the presence of at least a fixed point for the integral equation which thereby implying the existence of solutions for the integral equation.

Objective:Myocardial infarction(MI)is linked to an imbalance in the supply and demand of blood oxygen in the heart ***-blockers and calcium antagonists are just two of the common medications used to treat ***,these have reportedly been shown to be either ineffective or to have undesirable side *** of Ginkgo biloba leaves(GbE),a Chinese herbal product offers special compatibility benefits in therapeutic settings relating to inflammatory diseases and oxidative *** order to better understand how GbE affects MI in rats insulted by isoprenaline(ISO),the current study was ***:The heart weight index,serum lipid profile,cardiac marker enzymes,endogenous antioxidants[catalase(CAT),superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione(GSH),nitrites and malondialdehyde(MDA)],inflammatory mediators[tumour necrosis factor alpha(TNF-a)and interleukin-6(IL-6)],immunohistochemical expressions of b-cell lymphoma factor-2(bcl-2),extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK1/2),and mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR)and histopathological analysis were used to assess the cardioprotective properties of ***:The findings showed that GbE effectively attenuated myocardial infarction by boosting the body’s natural antioxidant defense system and reducing the release of inflammatory cytokines as well as heart injury marker *** expression of bcl-2,ERK1/2 and mTOR was increased while the histomorphological alterations were ***:The cardioprotective effects of GbE may be due to a mechanism involving increased bcl-2/mTOR/ERK1/2/Na^(+),K^(+)-ATPase activity.

IM To produce a new rat model of portal hypertension by intraportal injection of microspheres.METHODS Measured aliquots of single or differentsized microspheres (15, 40, 80μm) were injected into the portal vein to block intrahepatic portal radicals. The resultant changes in arterial, portal, hepatic venous and splenic pulp pressures were monitored. The liver and lungs were excised for histological examination.RESULTS Portal venous pressure was elevated from basal value of 089-102 kPa to a steadystate of 198-319 kPa following the sequential injections of single or differentsized microspheres, with a markedly lowered mean arterial pressure. However, a smalldose injection of 80μm microspheres (18×105) produced a steadystate portal venous pressure of 253±017 kPa, and all rats showed normal arterial pressures. In addition, numerous microspheres were found in the lungs in all experimental groups.CONCLUSION Portal hypertension can be reproduced in rats by intraportal injection of microspheres at a small dose of 80μm (18×105). Intrahepatic portalsystemic shunts probably exist in the normal rat liver..

background:There exist few maximal oxygen uptake(VO_(2max))non-exercise-based prediction equations,fewer using machine learning(ML),and none specifically for older *** direct measurement of VO_(2max)is infeasible in large epidemiologic cohort studies,we sought to develop,validate,compare,and assess the transportability of several ML VO_(2max)prediction ***:The baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging(bLSA)participants with valid VO2_(max)tests were included(n=1080).Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator,linear-and tree-boosted extreme gradient boosting,random forest,and support vector machine(SVM)algorithms were trained to predict VO_(2max)*** developed these algorithms for:(a)the overall bLSA,(b)by sex,(c)using all bLSA variables,and(d)variables common in aging ***,we quantified the associations between measured and predicted VO_(2max)and ***:The age was 69.0±10.4 years(mean±SD)and the measured VO_(2max)was 21.6±5.9 mL/kg/*** absolute shrinkage and selection operator,linear-and tree-boosted extreme gradient boosting,random forest,and support vector machine yielded root mean squared errors of 3.4 mL/kg/min,3.6 mL/kg/min,3.4 mL/kg/min,3.6 mL/kg/min,and 3.5 mL/kg/min,*** quartiles of measured VO_(2max)showed an inverse gradient in mortality *** VO_(2max)variables yielded similar effect estimates but were not robust to ***:Measured VO_(2max)is a strong predictor of *** ML can improve the accuracy of prediction as compared to simpler approaches but estimates of association with mortality remain sensitive to *** studies should seek to reproduce these results so that VO_(2max),an important vital sign,can be more broadly studied as a modifiable target for promoting functional resiliency and healthy aging.

The purpose of this study was to examine the induction profiles （as judged by quantitative reverse tran- scription polymerase chain reaction （qRT-PCR）） of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor （PPAR） α,β, y subtypes and major PPAR-target genes bearing a functional peroxisome proliferator responsive element （PPRE） in HepG2 cell model upon feeding with cis-9,trans-11-octadecadienoic acid （9-CLA） or trans-10,cis-12-octadecadienoic acid （10-CLA） or their precursor fatty acids （FAs）. HepG2 cells were treated with 100 pmol/L 9-CLA or 10-CLA or their precursor FAs, viz., oleic, linoleic, and trans-11-vaccenic acids against bezafibrate control to evaluate the induc- tion/expression profiles of PPAR （α, β, γ subtypes and major PPAR-target genes bearing a functional PPRE, i.e., fatty acid transporter （FAT）, glucose transporter-2 （GLUT-2）, liver-type FA binding protein （L-FAbP）, acyl CoA oxidase-1 （ACOX-1）, and peroxisomal bifunctional enzyme （PbE） with reference to β-actin as house keeping gene. Of the three housekeeping genes （glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase （GAPDH）, β-actin, and ubiquitin）, β-actin was found to be stable. Dimethyl sulfoxide （DMSO）, the common solubilizer of agonists, showed a significantly higher induction of genes analyzed, qRT-PCR profiles of CLAs and their precursor FAs clearly showed upregulation of FAT, GLUT-2, and L-FAbP （-0.5-.0-fold）. Compared to 10-CLA, 9-CLA decreased the induction of the FA metabolizing gene ACOX-1 less than did PbE, while 10-CLA decreased the induction of PbE less than did ACOX-I. both CLAs and precursor FAs upregulated PPRE-beadng genes, but with comparatively less or marginal activation of PPAR subtypes This indicates that the binding of CLAs and their precursor FAs to PPAR subtypes results in PPAR activation, thereby induction of the target transporter genes coupled with downstream lipid metabolising genes such as ACOX-1 and PbE. This paper presents the findings on thermal expansion behavior of slaked lime doped rice husk silica(RHS)refractory monitored between 25℃and 1500℃.It also reports the phase transition analysis within the temperature range of 850-1450℃.A sudden expansion of 0.7%noticed at 220℃is due to the transformation ofα-cristobalite toβ-*** highest expansion(0.85%)reached within the temperature range of 650-850℃,remains almost constant for the investigated temperature range,and is not high enough to cause macro cracks in the *** phase transition order is similar to those reported for quartzite refractory after 600℃,though the crystallization temperature is lowered due to the presence of the *** of rupture,apparent porosity,bulk density,refractoriness and reheat change are reported and their results meet with the standards qualifying them for use in coke ovens.
