Positivity in electron-positron scattering:testing the axiomatic quantum field theory principles and probing the existence of UV states

We consider the positivity bounds on dimension-8 four-electron operators and study two related phenomenological aspects at future lepton ***,if positivity is violated,probing such violations will revolutionize our understanding of the fundamental pillars of quantum field theory and the S-matrix *** observe that positivity violation at scales of 1-10 TeV can potentially be probed at future lepton colliders even if one assumes that dimension-6 operators are also ***,the positive nature of the dimension-8 parameter space often allows us to either directly infer the existence of UV-scale particles together with their quantum numbers or exclude them up to certain scales in a model-independent *** particular,dimension-8 positivity plays an important role in the test of the Standard *** no deviations from the Standard Model are observed,it allows for simultaneous exclusion limits on all kinds of potential UV-complete *** the dimension-6 case,these limits apply regardless of the UV model setup and cannot be removed by possible cancellations among various UV *** thus consists of a novel and universal test to confirm the Standard *** demonstrate with realistic examples how all the previously mentioned possibilities,including the test of positivity violation,can be ***,we provide an important motivation for studying dimension-8 operators more comprehensively.

Preparation and Surface Modification of High-Density Chitosan/functionalized Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes Hollow fibers

functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes( fMWNTs) were prepared with chitosan via controlled surface deposition and crosslinking process and scanning electron microscopy( SEM),fourier translation infrared spectroscopy( fT-IR) and Xray diffraction( XRD) are used to character properties. A novel high-density chitosan( HCS) was dissolved in f-MWNTs dispersed dilute acetic acid with a maximal concentration of 5. 8%. The hollow fibers can be made by extruding the solution into a dilute alkali solution through a wet-spinning process and the tensile properties of the materials were evaluated by universal tester. The surface property of fibers,pretreated by Helium( He) and the following grafted with gelatin was evaluated with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy( XPS).As the hollow fibers were intended for neural tissue engineering,its suitability was evaluated in vitro using rat Schwann cells( RSC96) as model cells. The cells attachment,proliferation and morphology,were studied by various microscopic techniques. Based on the results,the gelatin grafted HCS / f-MWNTs hollow fibers could be used as a potential cell carrier in neural tissue engineering.

Bone graft substitutes for spine fusion: A brief review

Bone graft substitutes are widely used in the field of orthopedics and are extensively used to promote vertebral fusion. fusion is the most common technique in spine surgery and is used to treat morbidities and relieve discomfort. Allograft and autograft bone substitutes are currently the most commonly used bone grafts to promote fusion. These approaches pose limitations and present complications to the patient. Numerous alternative bone graft substitutes are on the market or have been developed and proposed for application. These options have attempted to promote spine fusion by enhancing osteogenic properties. In this review, we reviewed biology of spine fusion and the current advances in biomedical materials and biological strategies for application in surgical spine fusion. Our findings illustrate that, while many bone graft substitutes perform well as bone graft extenders, only osteoinductive proteins(recombinant bone morphogenetic proteins-2 and osteogenic protein-1) provide evidence for use as both bone enhancers and bone substitutes for specific types of spinal fusion. Tissue engineered hydrogels, synthetic polymer composites and viral based gene therapy also holds the potential to be used for spine fusion in future, though warrants further investigation to be used in clinical practice.

Anticorrosion behavior of conversion coatings obtained from unbuffered cerium salts solutions on AA6061-T6

The anticorrosive properties of cerium based conversion coatings deposited on AA6061-T6 alloy by immersion in tmbuffercd cerium chloride and cerium nitrate solutions in the presence of hydrogen peroxide were investigated and characterized by potentiodynamic po- larization （PDP） and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） in 0.5 mol/L NaCl aqueous solution. The microstructure and chemical composition of the protective films were examined by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy （EDS）. It was found that the best corrosion protection was afforded by the samples treated during 600 s in cerium chloride solution at pH values ~5.5-4, showing higher amounts of cerium and polarization resistance values greater than 10 f~ m2. Moreover, an ennoblement of the corro- sion potential and decreasing of the cathodic and anodic currents were obtained compared with the cerium nitrate solutions application. This behavior was attributed to the influence of the deposition parameters such as type of the salt anion, i.e., chelating effect and chaotropic characteristics, pH fluctuations in the conversion solution and deposition time.

Bio-inspired Topological Skeleton for the Analysis of Quadruped Kinematic Gait

In bio-inspired design activities, nature is a basis of knowledge. Over the last twenty years, many solutions to measure and analyze human or animal gaits have been developed （VICON system, X-ray radiography...）. Although, these methods are becoming more and more accurate, they are quite expensive, long to set up and not easily portable. In this paper, a method called the bio-inspired topological skeleton is proposed in order to complement the classic videography process and to enable animal gait analysis. A new predictive kinematic model with closed-loops of an unguligrade quadruped is suggested. This kinematic model includes three segments per leg and takes into account the scapula movements. The proposed method allows us to improve the accuracy of the kinematic input data measured from a single video including an additional artefact. To show the benefits of this method, joint parameters that are difficult to measure are derived symbolically from the kinematic model and compared with experimental data.

Regulatory T cells （Tregs） comprise a subset of CD4＋ T lymphocytes that holds promise as immunotherapy for inflammat- ory disease states including autoimmune disorders, solid organ allograft rejection, graft-versus-host disease, and acute inflam- matory conditions. However, limited availability of Treg numbers restricts their usefulness in cell transfer applications, particularly as patients may need multiple infusions for chronic diseases.

Whole miRNome-wide Differential Co-expression of MicroRNAs

Co-regulation of genes has been extensively analyzed, however, rather limited knowledge is available on co-regulations within the miRNome. We investigated differential co-expression of microRNAs （miRNAs） based on miRNome profiles of whole blood from 540 individuals. These include patients suffering from different cancer and non-cancer diseases, and unaffected controls. Using hierarchi- cal clustering, we found 9 significant clusters of co-expressed miRNAs containing 2-36 individual miRNAs. Through analyzing multiple sequencing alignments in the clusters, we found that co-expression of miRNAs is associated with both sequence similarity and genomic co-localization. We calculated correlations for all 371,953 pairs of miRNAs for all 540 individuals and identified 184 pairs of miRNAs with high correlation values. Out of these 184 pairs of miRNAs, 16 pairs （8.7%） were differentially co-expressed in unaffected controls, cancer patients and patients with non-cancer diseases. By computing correlated and anti-correlated miRNA pairs, we constructed a net- work with 184 putative co-regulations as edges and 100 miRNAs as nodes. Thereby, we detected specific clusters of miRNAs with high and low correlation values. Our approach represents the most comprehensive co-regulation analysis based on whole miRNome-wide expression profiling. Our findings further decrypt the interactions of miRNAs in normal and human pathological processes.
