Magnetic rod-based metal-organic framework metal composite as multifunctional nanostirrer with adsorptive,peroxidase-like and catalytic properties

Although magnetic stirring is frequently used to enhance the kinetics for adsorption,chemical and biochemical reactions,the introduction of stirrers inevitably leads to the adsorption of analytes and thus interferes with the efficiency of the chemical process or *** this work,magnetic Fe_(3) O_(4) nanorods with tunable length-to-diameter ratio were synthesized via a hydrothermal method and used as templates for the in-situ depositing of MIL-100(Fe) and gold *** nanorod-based material can not only function as an adsorbent,nanozyme,and a heterogeneous catalyst for corresponding applications but also serve as a magnetic nanostirrer to enhance *** a proof-of-concept,the capture of bacteria pathogen,mimic-peroxidase-based colorimetric detection of hydrogen peroxide,and the catalytic reduction of selected organic pollutants were conducted using the as-synthesized Fe_(3) O_(4)@MIL-100(Fe)-Au nanostirrer with and without magnetic *** results show that the rates of bacteria capture,mimetic enzyme reaction and catalysis were tremendously *** believe this magnetic field-assisted approach holds great promise for future applications,because,not only does it eliminate the use of external magnetic stirrers and thereby decrease the risk of foreign pollution but also,is adaptable for nanoscale reaction systems where conventional stirring is not applicable due to size limitations.

Due to the serious harm of diabetes to human health,development of sensitive assays for glucose level is of high significance for early prevention and treatment of ***,most conventional enzyme-based glucose sensors suffer from high cost and low stability due to the inherent defects of natural ***,we develop a pure nanozyme-based glucose detection method using Ag@Au core/shell triangular nanoplates(TNPs),which combines glucose oxidase(GOD)-and horseradish peroxidase(HRP)-like activities of the Au shell and inherent plasmonic properties of Ag *** sensing mechanism is based on the fact that the Au shell possessed GOD-like activity,enabling the oxidation of glucose to produce H2O2,which can further etch the silver core,leading to the decrease of absorbance at 800 nm and the color change from blue to *** with the previous nanozymes-based glucose sensors,our method avoids the use of enzymes and organic chromogenic ***,the stability of the Ag@Au core/shell TNPs is much better than that of Ag TNPs due to the protection by the coating of the Au *** method was successfully applied to the detection of urine samples from patients with diabetes,indicating its practical applicability for real sample analysis.

Colorimetric nanoprobes are frequently employed to construct sensitive sensors via various *** this work,a novel strategy for simple and ultrasensitive sensing of iodide(I_(−))was constructed based on Cu^(2+)-assisted generation of Au@AgI core/shell nanorods(NRs),by etching silver-coated gold nanorods(Ag@Au NRs).Ag@Au NRs were first prepared and characterized with UV-visible spectroscopy,transmission electron microscopy,high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy,and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy before and after iodide *** mechanism of detection was based on the generation of AgI shells via etching Ag shells by I_(2),which was produced from the oxidation of I_(−)with Cu^(2+),resulting in the peak shift of localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)while the color changed from green,blue to *** red-shift of the longitudinal LSPR peak had a linear relationship with I_(−)concentration in the range of 0-50μmol/L with a correlation coefficient of ***,the proposed method was used for the quantitative detection of I_(−)in real samples and outstanding recoveries in the range of 91-106%with relative standard deviations lower than 2.5%were observed.

This article presents a pragmatic quadcopter development template for parcel delivery in Nigeria. The quadcopter is equipped with a camera, parcel pouch and wireless telecommunication to capture live events and send them back to the control station for real-time delivery feedback. The study also discusses the design methodology adopted as a conceptual design approach vital to product development, it encompasses information gathering and identifying the problem, creating the solutions systematically and eventually evaluating and developing a concept for the drone and its attributes and presenting clear results for design calculations.

Pseudospondias microcarpa is used in ethnomedicine to manage central nervous system *** hydroethanolic extract(PME)from the leaves of the plant has shown anxiolytic-like properties in mice anxiety ***,its effects in chronic anxiety models and possible mechanism(s)of action were not ***,the current study evaluated the anxiolytic-like mechanisms of PME in zebrafish models of *** zebrafish light dark test(LDT)and novel tank test(NTT)were employed to assess the anxiolytic-like effects of PME(0.1,0.3,1.0 mg mL^(−1)),fluox-etine(3×10^(−5)mg mL^(−1))and diazepam(1.5×10^(−7)mg mL^(−1)).The chronic unpredictable stress(CUS)test was used to further evaluate the extract’s anxiolytic-like *** potential mechanisms of anxiolytic action of the extract was evaluated after pre-treated with flumazenil,granisetron,methysergide,or pizotifen,all at 1×10^(−3)mg mL^(−1).The extract significantly decreased anxiety behaviours in the NT and LD *** observed effects of the extract were however counteracted by flumazenil,granisetron,methysergide and pizotifen *** addition,PME treatment significantly reversed CUS-induced anxiety behaviours in *** show that PME possesses anxiolytic-like effects possibly through interaction with serotonergic and gamma-aminobutyric acid mediated pathways.

Annealing effect on the optical and solid state properties of cupric oxide thin films deposited using the Aqueous Chemical Growth (ACG) method

Thin films of CuO having an average thickness of 720 nm were deposited on clean glass substrates using the Aqueous Chemical Growth (ACG) method with Cu(NO3)2 and C6H12N4 as precursors and annealed at different temperatures in order to determine the effect of annealing temperature on their optical and solid state properties. The study was carried out using Rutherford Backscattering (RBS) spectroscopy for t thickness and chemical composition, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) for crystallographic structure and a UV-VIS spectrophotometer for spectral analysis. The results indicate that the absorbance and absorption/extinction coefficient of the films vary inversely with annealing temperature while the transmittance, reflectance, direct band gap, real/imaginary dielectric constants and refractive index vary directly with annealing temperature. The results further indicate an improvement in crystallinity as annealing temperature increases. The as-deposited and annealed ACG CuO thin films were found to be suitable for use as window layer in solar cells among other electronic and optoelectronic applications.
