To realize the commercialize of rechargeable Zn-air battery(RZAB),developing metal-free bifunctional electrocatalysts with satisfactory activity for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is one of the emerging ***,a prawn shells-derived N-enriched porous carbon(PSNC)is synthesized via an ion exchange coupled biomimetic selfsacrificing template *** resulting PSNC displays unique functional components,including the interconnected macro-meso-micropores structure to shorten charge and mass transfer pathway,high content of pyridinic and graphitic nitrogen to construct rich catalytic active site and improve *** electrocatalysts in alkaline condition,the optimized PSNC-0.8 achieves excellent bifunctional catalytic propriety with a narrow potential gap(ΔE)value of 0.80 ***,PSNC-0.8-based RZAB displays a high peak power density of 176.5 mW·cm^(-2)and considerable cycling durability with a small battery efficiency delay of 6.5%after 480 cycles(320 h).This study enlightens a simple and effective conception to design high-performance metal-free bifunctional electrocatalysts from seafood waste.

Multidrug resistance(MDR) is the main cause of clinical treatment failure and poor prognosis in cancer. Targeting P-glycoprotein(P-gp) has been regarded as an effective strategy to overcome MDR. In this work, we reported our preclinical studies of the triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-based compound WS-716 as a highly potent, specific, and orally active P-gp inhibitor. Through direct binding to P-gp,WS-716 inhibited efflux function of P-gp and specifically reversed P-gp-mediated MDR to paclitaxel(PTX) in multiple resistant cell lines, without changing its expression or subcellular localization. WS-716 and PTX synergistically inhibited formation of colony and 3D spheroid, induced apoptosis and cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase in resistant SW620/Ad300 cells. In addition, WS-716 displayed minimal effect on the drug-metabolizing enzyme cytochrome P4503A4(CYP3A4). Importantly, WS-716 increased sensitivity of both pre-clinically and clinically derived MDR tumors to PTX in vivo with the T/C value of 29.7% in patient-derived xenograft(PDX) models. Relative to PTX treatment alone, combination of WS-716 and PTX caused no obvious adverse reactions. Taken together, our preclinical studies revealed therapeutic promise of WS-716 against MDR cancer, the promising data warrant its further development for cancer therapy.

Background Multidrug resistance （MDR） is a main reason for paclitaxel （TAX） treatment failure. Indirubin-3＇-monoxime （IRO） and Matrine are traditional Chinese medicines, which may reverse the resistance of tumor cells to some chemotherapy drugs, but the relationship between paclitaxel resistance and Matrine is still unclear. The aim of this study was to explore the potential molecular mechanism of IRO and Matrine in reversal of TAX resistance. Methods In this study, MTT assay was used to measure the non-cytotoxic dosage of IRO and Matrine on NCI-H520/TAX25 cells and determine the reversal extent of TAX resistance under non-toxic doses. In addition, RT-PCR and Western blotting were used to evaluate the mRNA expression and the protein level of survivin, Oct-4, and Sox-2 in NCI-H520fTAX25 ceils using semi-quantitative methods. Results There was no obvious inhibition on sensitive cell strains and drug-resistant strains, when the final concentration was at lest 4 IJmol/L for IRO and 100 IJmol/L for Matrine. So 4 tJmol/L of IRO and 100 pmol/L of Matrine were considered as the reversal dosage. When 4 IJmol/L of IRO or 100 pmol/L of Matrine were used together with TAX, the sensitivity to TAX increased evidently in NCI-H520/TAX2 cells; the reversal rate of IRO and Matrine was about 1.92 （43.56/22.6 nmol/L） and 1.74 （43.56/25.0 nmol/L）, respectively. The mRNA expression and the protein ievel of survivin, Oct-4, and Sox-2 in NCI-H520/TAX25 decreased significantly （P 〈0.05） after addition of IRO or Matrine in TAX treatment, compared to that of TAX treatment alone. Conclusion The decrease in both mRNA expression and protein level of survivin, Oct-4, and Sox-2 might be the molecular mechanism, by which IRO and Matrine mediate the reversal of TAX resistance.

MXenes obtained significant attention in the field of energy storage devices due to their characteristic layered structure,modifiable surface functional groups,large electrochemically active surface,and regulable interlayer ***,the self-restacking and sluggish ions diffusion kinetics performance of MXenes during the alkali metal ions insertion/extraction process severely impedes their cycle stability and rate *** paper proposes an aniline molecule welding strategy for welding p-phenylenediamine（PPDA） into the interlayers of Ti2C through a dehydration condensation *** welded PPDA molecules can contribute pillar effect to the layered structure of *** pillar effect effectively maintains the structural stability during the sodium ions insertion/extraction process and effectively expands the interlayer spacing of Ti2C from 1.16 to 1.38 nm,thereby enhancing ions diffusion kinetics performance and improving the long-term cycle *** Ti2C-PPDA demonstrates outstanding Na+storage capability,exhibiting a specific capacity of 100.2 mAh·g-1at a current density of 0.1 A·g-1over 960 cycles and delivering a remarkable rate capability 81.2 mAh·g-1at a current density of 5 A·*** study demonstrates that expanding interlayer spacing is a promising strategy to enhance the Na+storage capacity and improve long-term cycling stability,which provides significant guidance for the design of two-dimensional Na+storage materials with high-rate capability and cycle stability.

Catalytic atroposelective synthesis of indolyl quinazolinones bearing N-N/C-C diaxes

The first catalytic atroposelective synthesis of indole derivatives bearing N-N/C-C diaxes has been established by the strategy of de novo ring formation. By this strategy, various indolyl quinazolinones bearing vicinal N-N/C-C diaxes were synthesized in high yields with overall good diastereoselectivities and excellent enantioselectivities via chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed onepot asymmetric formal (5+1) cycloaddition/oxidation reaction. Moreover, such indolyl quinazolinones bearing vicinal N-N/CC diaxes have good configurational stability and could be converted into new chiral ligands with applications in asymmetric catalysis. Therefore, this work not only offered a new member for the family of diaxial atropisomers, but also provided a powerful strategy for catalytic asymmetric synthesis of atropisomers bearing N-N/C-C diaxes.
