Anneal-free ultra-low loss silicon nitride integrated photonics

Heterogeneous and monolithic integration of the versatile low-loss silicon nitride platform with low-temperature materials such as silicon electronics and photonics,III–V compound semiconductors,lithium niobate,organics,and glasses has been inhibited by the need for high-temperature annealing as well as the need for different process flows for thin and thick *** techniques are needed to maintain the state-of-the-art losses,nonlinear properties,and CMOs-compatible processes while enabling this next generation of 3D silicon nitride *** report a significant advance in silicon nitride integrated photonics,demonstrating the lowest losses to date for an anneal-free process at a maximum temperature 250℃,with the same deuterated silane based fabrication flow,for nitride and oxide,for an order of magnitude range in nitride thickness without requiring stress mitigation or *** report record low anneal-free losses for both nitride core and oxide cladding,enabling 1.77 dBm^(-1) loss and 14.9 million Q for 80 nm nitride core waveguides,more than half an order magnitude lower loss than previously reported sub 300℃ *** 800 nm-thick nitride,we achieve as good as 8.66 dBm^(-1) loss and 4.03 million Q,the highest reported Q for a low temperature processed resonator with equivalent device area,with a median of loss and Q of 13.9 dBm^(-1) and 2.59 million each *** demonstrate laser stabilization with over 4 orders of magnitude frequency noise reduction using a thin nitride reference cavity,and using a thick nitride micro-resonator we demonstrate OPO,over two octave supercontinuum generation,and four-wave mixing and parametric gain with the lowest reported optical parametric oscillation threshold per unit resonator *** results represent a significant step towards a uniform ultra-low loss silicon nitride homogeneous and heterogeneous platform for both thin and thick waveguides capable of linear and nonlinear photonic circuits and

Organosilane surfactant-assisted synthesis of mesoporous ssZ-39 zeolite with enhanced catalytic performance in the methanol-to-olefins reaction

ssZ-39 zeolite with AEI framework structure is a good catalyst candidate for the methanol-to-olefins(MTO)***,the diffusion limitation and coke formation often results in fast deactivation of the ssZ-39 zeolite *** solution for this challenge is to introduce mesoporosity in the ssZ-39 ***,we report the synthesis of mesoporous ssZ-39 zeolite using an organosilane surfactant,,-dimethyl--(3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl)octan-1-aminium chloride,as a mesopore template and,-dimethyl--2,6-dimethylpiperidinium as a micropore *** obtained zeolites were characterized by X-ray diffraction,N sorption,scanning electron microscopy,temperature programmed desorption of ammonia,and magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance of *** results show that the mesoporous ssZ-39 zeolite has high crystallinity,meso/microporosity,high surface area,cuboid morphology,and abundant acidic *** importantly,this mesoporous ssZ-39 zeolite exhibits enhanced catalyst lifetime in the MTO reaction due to the presence of mesoporosity for fast mass transfer,compared with a conventional ssZ-39 zeolite without mesoporosity.

We propose a new theory of probability based on the general principle of the statistical stabilization of relative frequencies. According to this principle it is possible to consider the statistical stabilization not only with respect to the standard real topology on the field of rational numbers Q but also with respect to an arbitrary topology on Q. The case of p-adic (and more general non-Archimedean) topologies is the most important. Our frequency theory of Probability is a fruitful extension of the frequency theory of R. von Mises[18]. It's well known that the axiomatic theory of Kolmogorov uses the frequency theory as one of the foundations. And a new general frequency theory can be considered as the base for the general axiomatic theory of probability (Kolmogorov's theory is a particular case of this theory which corresponds to the real topology of the statistical stabilization on Q). The situation in the theory of probability becomes similar to that in modern geometry. The Kolmogorov axiomatics (as the Euclidean) is only one of the possibilities, and we have generated a great number of different non-Kolmogorov theories of *** applications to p-adic quantum mechanics and field theory are considered.

运用两种不同技法制备了ZrO2纳米粒子改性的膨化石墨/焦炭复合材料,应用XRD、sEM和TEM对所得ZrO2改性炭材料进行了表征。技法1:在ZrO(NO3)2及NH4OH溶液中反复交替地浸渍低密度膨化石墨/焦炭块体,随后在1200℃氮氛中热处理,以使在炭块自由表面沉积ZrO2纳米粒子的薄层。技法2:将可膨胀石墨、酚醛树脂粉和ZrOC2O4—改性的纤维素纤维混合物封装于一容器中,使之经受900℃热激震,随后在氮氛中1200℃热处理,获得改性复合材料。结果表明:复合材料中ZrO2纳米粒子呈现三种尺寸:6nm^30nm为单独的纳米粒子和小微粒;200nm^1000nm为长树突状结构物;1μm^40μm为形如纤维素前驱体的杆状物。

Role of dynamic computed tomography scans in patients with congenital craniovertebral junction malformations

AIM To evaluate the role of dynamic computed tomography(CT)scan imaging in diagnosing craniovertebral junction(CVJ)instability in patients with congenital CVJ *** Patients with symptomatic congenital CVJ malformations who underwent posterior fossa decompression and had a preoperative dynamic CT scan in flexion and extended position were included in this *** of the following craniometrical parameters were taken in flexed and extended neck position:Atlanto-dental interval(ADI),distance of the odontoid tip to the Chamberlain’s line,and the clivus-canal angle(CCA).Assessment of the facet joints congruence was also performed in both *** of the values obtained in flexion and extension were compared using a paired student’s *** A total of ten patients with a mean age of 37.9 years were *** flexion imaging,the mean ADI was1.76 mm,the mean CCA was 125.4°and the mean distance of the odontoid tip to the Chamberlain’s line was+9.62 *** extension,the mean ADI was1.46 mm(P=0.29),the mean CCA was 142.2°(Pstance of the odontoid tip to the Chamberlain’s line was+7.11 mm(Ps(40%)had facetary subluxation demonstrated in dynamic imaging,two of them with mobile subluxation(both underwent CVJ fixation).The other two patients with a fixed subluxation were not initially *** patient with atlantoaxial assimilation and C23 fusion without initial facet subluxation developed a latter CVJ instability diagnosed with a dynamic CT *** with basilar invagination had a lower CCA variation compared to the whole *** Craniometrical parameters,as well as the visualization of the facets location,may change significantly according to the neck *** imaging can provide additional useful information to the diagnosis of CVJ *** studies addressing the relationship between craniometrical changes and neck position are necessary.

Assessment of aortic valve disease--a clinician oriented review

Aortic valve disease [aortic stenosis(As) and aortic regurgitation(AR)] represents an important global healthproblem; when severe, aortic valve disease carries poor prognosis. For As, aortic valve replacement, either surgical or interventional, may provide definite treatment in carefully selected patients. For AR, valve surgery(either replacement or-in selected cases-aortic valve repair) remains the gold standard of care. To properly identify those patients who are candidates for surgery, the clinician has to carefully assess the severity of valve disease with an understanding of the potential pitfalls involved in these assessments. This review focuses on the practical issues concerning the evaluation of patients with As and AR from a general cardiologist's perspective. The most important issues regarding the documentation of the severity of As and AR are summarized. More specific issues, such as the role of stress echocardiography, other imaging techniques and details regarding the treatment options(medical, surgical, or interventional), are mentioned briefly.
