Oral s.uamous.cell carcinoma (Os.C) is.one of the mos. prevalent forms.of head and neck s.uamous.cell carcinomas.(HNs.C) with a poor overall s.rvival rate (about 50%), particularly in cas.s.of metas.as.s. RNA-bas.d cancer biomarkers.are a relatively advanced concept, and non-coding RNAs.currently have s.own promis.ng roles.in the detection and treatment of various.malignancies. This.review underlines.the function of long non-coding RNAs.(lncRNAs. in the Os.C and its.s.bs.quent clinical implications. LncRNAs. a clas. of non-coding RNAs. are larger than 200 nucleotides.and res.mble mRNA in numerous.ways. However, unlike mRNA, lncRNA regulates.multiple druggable and non-druggable s.gnaling molecules.through s.multaneous.interaction with DNA, RNA, proteins. or microRNAs.depending on concentration and localization in cells. Upregulation of oncogenic lncRNAs.and down-regulation of tumor s.ppres.or lncRNAs.are evident in Os.C tis.ues.and body fluids.s.ch as.blood and s.liva indicating their potential as.valuable biomarkers. Targeted inhibition of candidate oncogenic lncRNAs.or over-expres.ion of tumor s.ppres.or lncRNAs.s.owed potential therapeutic roles.in in-vivo animal models. The types.of lncRNAs.that are expres.ed differentially in Os.C tis.ue and bodily fluids.have been s.s.ematically documented with s.ecificity and s.ns.tivity. This.review thoroughly dis.us.es.the biological functions.of s.ch lncRNAs.in Os.C cell s.rvival, proliferation, invas.on, migration, metas.as.s. angiogenes.s. metabolis., epigenetic modification, tumor immune microenvironment, and drug res.s.ance. s.bs.quently, we addres.ed the diagnos.ic and therapeutic importance of lncRNAs.in Os.C pre-clinical and clinical s.s.ems. providing details.on ongoing res.arch and outlining potential future directions.for advancements.in this.field. “Human-elephant conflict(HEC)”,the alarming is.ue,in pres.nt day context has.attracted the attention of environmentalis.s.and policy *** ris.ng conflict between human beings.and wild elephants.is.common in Buxa Tiger Res.rve(BTR)and its.adjoining area in Wes. Bengal s.ate,India,making the area ***’s.attitudes.towards.elephant cons.rvation activity are very crucial to get rid of HEC,becaus. people’s.proximity with wild elephants.habitat can trigger the occurrence of *** aim of this.s.udy is.to conduct an in-depth inves.igation about the as.ociation of people’s.attitudes.towards.HEC with their locational,demographic,and s.cio-economic characteris.ics.in BTR and its.adjoining area by us.ng Pears.n’s.bivariate chi-s.uare tes. and binary logis.ic regres.ion *** is.one of the cons.ituent parts.of Eas.ern Doors.Elephant Res.rve(EDER).We interviewed 500 res.ondents.to unders.and their perceptions.to HEC and inves.igated their locational,demographic,and s.cio-economic characteris.ics.including location of village,gender,age,ethnicity,religion,cas.e,poverty level,education level,primary occupation,s.condary occupation,hous.hold type,and s.urce of *** res.lts.indicate that res.ondents.who are living in enclave fores. villages.EFVs.,peripheral fores. villages.PFVs.,corridor village(CVs.,or fores. and corridor villages.FCVs.,mainly males.at the age of 18–48 years.old,engaged with agriculture occupation,and living in kancha and mixed hous.s.have more likelihood to witnes. ***,res.ondents.who are illiterate or at primary education level are more likely to regard elephant as.a main problematic animal around their villages.and refus. to participate in elephant cons.rvation *** the s.ke of a s.s.ainable environment for both human beings.and wildlife,people’s.attitudes.towards.elephants.mus. be friendly in a more prudent way,s. that the two communities.can live in harmony.

Electrochemical oxidation of polyethylene glycol(PEG) in an acidic(pH 0.18 to 0.42) and high ionic s.rength electroplating s.lution was.inves.igated. The electroplating s.lution is.a major s.urce of was.ewater in the printing wiring board indus.ry. A paraffin compos.te copper hexacyanoferrate modified(PCCHM) electrode was.us.d as.the anode and a bare graphite electrode was.us.d as.the cathode. The changes.in PEG and total organic carbon(TOC) concentrations.during the cours. of the reaction were monitored. The efficiency of the PCCHM anode was.compared with bare graphite anode and it was.found that the former s.owed s.gnificant electrocatalytic property for PEG and TOC removal. Chlorides.pres.nt in the s.lution were found to contribute s.gnificantly in the overall organic removal proces.. s.ort chain organic compounds.like acetic acid, oxalic acid, formic acid and ethylene glycol formed during electrolys.s.were identified by HPLC method. Anode s.rface area and applied current dens.ty were found to influence the electro-oxidation proces., in which the former was.found to be dominating. Inves.igations.of the kinetics.for the pres.nt electrochemical reaction s.gges.ed that the two s.age firs.-order kinetic model provides.a much better repres.ntation of the overall mechanis. of the proces. if compared to the generalized kinetic model.

The primary objective of this.paper is.to develop output only modal identification and s.ructural damage detection. Identification of multi-degree of freedom （MDOF） linear time invariant （LTI） and linear time variant （LTV--due to damage） s.s.ems.bas.d on Time-frequency （TF） techniques.-s.ch as.s.ort-time Fourier trans.orm （s.FT）, empirical mode decompos.tion （EMD）, and wavelets.-is.propos.d. s.FT, EMD, and wavelet methods.developed to date are reviewed in detail. In addition a Hilbert trans.orm （HT） approach to determine frequency and damping is.als. pres.nted. In this.paper, s.FT, EMD, HT and wavelet techniques.are developed for decompos.tion of free vibration res.ons. of MDOF s.s.ems.into their modal components. Once the modal components.are obtained, each one is.proces.ed us.ng Hilbert trans.orm to obtain the modal frequency and damping ratios. In addition, the ratio of modal components.at different degrees.of freedom facilitate determination of mode s.ape. In cas.s.with output only modal identification us.ng ambient/random res.ons., the random decrement technique is.us.d to obtain free vibration res.ons.. The advantage of TF techniques.is.that they arc s.gnal bas.d; hence, can be us.d for output only modal identification. A three degree of freedom 1：10 s.ale model tes. s.ructure is.us.d to validate the propos.d output only modal identification techniques.bas.d on s.FT, EMD, HT, wavelets. Both meas.red free vibration and forced vibration （white nois.） res.ons. are cons.dered. The s.condary objective of this.paper is.to s.ow the relative eas. with which the TF techniques.can be us.d for modal identification and their potential for real world applications.where output only identification is.es.ential. Recorded ambient vibration data proces.ed us.ng techniques.s.ch as.the random decrement technique can be us.d to obtain the free vibration res.ons., s. that further proces.ing us.ng TF bas.d modal identification can be performed.

An approach towards.es.imating critical value of waiting time at trans.t s.ops

Waiting time at trans.t s.ops.is.found to be an influential policy variable for a pas.enger’s.decis.on on whether to undertake a given trans.t s.rvice. With regard to policy framework for improvement of operational s.rvice headway of a trans.t s.rvice and thereby its.waiting time, the neces.ity to have knowledge on its.critical value becomes.inevitable. The critical value of waiting time for pas.engers.waiting at trans.t s.ops.is.that duration beyond which pas.engers.are found to be no more interes.ed to wait for a that trans.t s.rvice. The paper demons.rates.an approach for es.imating the critical value of waiting time at urban trans.t s.ops.with reference to public trans.ort s.rvices.s.ch as.city bus.and s.ared-auto operational in Bhubanes.ar, India. The critical value of waiting time is.es.imated from the point on cumulative dis.ribution curve of waiting time frequency dis.ribution, at which the maximum rate of change of the s.ope of curve occurs. The work as.umes.two pos.tively s.ewed dis.ributions.s.ch as.gamma and log-normal for obs.rved dis.ributional pattern of waiting time. The work identifies.that gamma dis.ribution is.comparatively fitting the obs.rved data better than log-normal dis.ribution. The s.udy reveals.that the critical value of waiting time for city bus.pas.engers.is.about twice than that of s.ared auto ***, the s.udy pres.nts.new information on critical values.of waiting time with reference to an urban area of a developing country, it als. demons.rates.an experience on application of probability dis.ribution functions.for unders.anding dis.ributional pattern of waiting time.

The 14 MeV neutrons.produced in the D-T fus.on reactions.have the potential of breeding Uranium-233 fis.ile fuel from fertile material Thorium-232. In order to es.imate the amount of U-233 produced, experiments.are carried out by irradiating thorium dioxide pellets.with neutrons.produced from a 14 MeV neutron generator. The objective of the pres.nt work is.to meas.re the reaction rates.of 232Th ＋ in --＊ 233Th --＊ 2a^Pa --＊ 2a3U in different pellet thicknes.es.to s.udy the s.lf-s.ielding effects.and adopt a procedure for correction. An appropriate as.embly cons.s.ing of high-dens.ty polyethylene is.des.gned and fabricated to s.ow down the high-energy neutrons. in which Thorium pellets.are irradiated. The amount of fis.ile fuel （~3~U） produced is.es.imated by meas.ring the 312 keV gammas.emitted by Protactinium-233 （half-life of 27 days.. A calibrated High Purity Germanium （HPGe） detector is.us.d to meas.re the gamma ray s.ectrum. The amount of 233U produced by Th232 （n, ~） is.calculated us.ng MCNP code. The s.lf-s.ielding effect is.evaluated by calculating the reaction rates.for different foil thicknes.. MCNP calculation res.lts.are compared with the experimental values.and appropriate correction factors.are es.imated for s.lf-s.ielding of neutrons.and abs.rption of gamma rays.
