Brassica napus(***)is a globally significant oilseed crop,making a substantial contribution to both human oil and livestock feed *** seed weight is crucial for improving rapeseed yield;however,only a limited number of seed weight-related genes have been functionally validated in *** thus *** PROTEASE 15(UBP15)belongs to the ubiquitin protease pathway and plays a maternal role in prolonging seed development in *** potential utilization of UBP15 for enhancing seed yield in *** has remained unexplored until *** this study,we identified the orthologs of UBP15 in *** and investigated its functionality using the CRISPR-Cas9 *** generated mutant plants with multiple editing types targeting Bnaubp15s and successfully isolated T-DNA-free homozygous mutant lines that exhibited edits across four homologs of BnaUBP15 in T2 generation *** preliminary data demonstrated that mutation of BnaUBP15s significantly reduced seed size,seed weight,and plant height while noticeably increasing the number of primary *** findings not only provide crucial evidence for further elucidating the molecular mechanism underlying the regulation of seed weight and size by BnaUBP15s but also offer promising novel germplasm for enhancing plant architecture.

In order to investigate zonal disintegration mechanism of isotropic rock masses around a deep spherical tunnel, a new mechanical model subjected to dynamic unloading under hydrostatic pressure condition is proposed. The total elastic stress-field distributions is determined using the elastodynamic equation. The effects of unloading rate and dynamic mechanical parameters of isotropic deep rock masses on the zonal disintegration phenomenon of the surrounding rock masses around a deep spherical tunnel as well as the total elastic stress field distributions are considered. The number and size of fractured and non-fractured zones are determined by using the Hoek-Brown criterion. Numerical computation is carried out. It is found from numerical results that the number of fractured zones increases with increasing the disturbance coefficient, in-situ stress, unloading time and unloading rate, and it decreases with increasing parameter geological strength index, the strength parameter and the uniaxial compressive strength of intact rock.

The bank slopes in hydro-fluctuation areas of reservoirs or lakes suffer from severe erosion due to an absence of protection. Waves are one of the important external forces that cause bank erosion and slope failures. However, the processes and quantified impacts of wave-induced erosion on slopes remain unclear under different water level-fluctuation conditions. This paper focuses on the characteristics of wave-induced slope erosion under three conditions: water level dropping(WLD), fixed(WLF) and rising(WLR). A steel tank with glass pane was used to simulate the wave-induced slope erosion in the three treatments. The slope elevation data were collected by using the method of the pin meter for every 15 minutes from the beginning to the end, a total of 5 times during all treatments. These data were processed by using software(SURFER 9.0) to get the slope micro-topography and the erosion volume. Then the temporal and spatial change of slope erosion was analysed according to the erosion amount or erosion rate calculated based on bulk density of slope soil. The results demonstrated that the soil erosion rates for different water level changing treatments are in the following order: WLR>WLD>WLF. For the erosion spatial variation, the middle part of the slope was the major source of sediment in the WLD. The upper part of the slope was the major source of the sediment for the other two treatments. Compared with the standard deviation(SD), the coefficient of variation(CV) based on the SD is more representative of variations in the soil surface roughness(SSR). Furthermore, the good fit between the SSR and soil erosion rate have the potential to be used to predict soil erosion. Above all, the injection angle of the wave determined the rate of erosion to some extent, and the fall-back flow of the wave could also influence the extent of erosion, deposition, and bank morphology. The relationship between the viscosity and structure of CaF_(2)-CaO-Al_(2)O_(3)-MgO-TiO_(2)slag with different CaF_(2)contents and CaO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratios was studied using the rotating cylinder method,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,and Raman *** activity coefficients of CaF_(2)and the CaO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio were determined to understand the correlation between viscosity and structure of the *** results suggest that the slag viscosity reduces gradually with an increase in CaF_(2)content from 14.1 to 28.1 wt.%or CaO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio from 0.9 to 1.5,and correspondingly apparent activation energy for viscous flow *** addition of CaF_(2)does not change the structure of the molten slag;however,the relaxation effect of the anionic species and the hindrance effect of the cationic species are promoted by substituting part of the non-bridging oxygens(NBO)with F−ions from CaF_(2),which is attributed to the formation of NBO-Ca^(2+)-F−and NBO-Ca^(2+)-NBO,***,as the CaO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio increases,some of the Q4 units in the aluminate structure are depolymerized into Q2 units,so that the relative strength of the Al-O-Al linkage decreases,and the relative fraction of Ti2O64−chains increases,whereas that of O-Ti-O chains decreases slightly,resulting in depolymerization on the slag ***,the effect of the CaO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio on the structure was greater than that of CaF_(2)because of the greater depolymerization *** variation in the activity can indirectly explain the relationship between the viscosity and structure of the aluminate structural units based on thermodynamic analysis.

It has been reported that squash leaf curl China virus(SLCCNV)infects some Cucurbitaceae crops except for melon(Cucumis melo L.).A new disease of melon exhibiting severe leaf curl and dwarfing was observed in Hainan Province of *** this study,the pathogen was identified as SLCCNV through biological and molecular *** isolate(SLCCNV-HN)possess a bipartite genome,DNA-A(HM566112.1)with the highest nucleotide identity(99%)to SLCCNV-Hn(MF062251.1)pumpkin and SLCCNV-Hn61(AM260205.1)squash isolates from China,whereas DNA-B(HM566113.1)with the highest nucleotide identity(99%)to SLCCNV-Hn(MF062252.1).Phylogenetic analyses based on the full-length SLCCNV-HN DNA-A and-B sequences indicated that SLCCNV-HN melon isolate is clustered with SLCCNV-Hn pumpkin,SLCCNV-Hn61 and SLCCNV-SY squash isolates from southern China,forming an independent *** clone of SLCCNV-HN was constructed and the melon plants were inoculated and the infection rate is 100%,the systemic symptoms in melon showed identical to those of melon plants infected in ***,melon plants transmission of this virus by Bemisia tabaci with a transmission rate of 95%(19/20)showed leaf curl and dwarf symptoms 15 days post transmission,thereby fulfilling Koch’s *** of genomic organization and phylogenetic trees indicated that SLCCNV-HN melon isolate belongs to the Begomovirus *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first characterization of meloninfecting SLCCNV through its genome,infectious clone and transmission.

Strawflower(Helichrysum bracteatum)capitula have papery bracts and thus have the qualities of a naturally dried *** involucral bract cells have a secondary cell wall(SCW)of which a crucial component is *** the constituents of SCWs have been studied extensively in plants,little is known of the mechanism regulating SCW formation,especially lignin biosynthesis in the involucral bracts of *** this study,a homolog of NAC SECONDARY WALL THICKENING PROMOTING FACTOR 1,designated Hb NST1,was identified as a positive regulator of lignin biosynthesis in *** transcript level of Hb NST1 was the highest in the involucral *** localization analysis indicated that Hb NST1 was localized to the *** of Hb NST1 in Chrysanthemum indicum promoted the expression of a gene related to lignin biosynthesis,a homolog of cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase,designated Ci CAD,suggesting that Hb NST1 was associated with the accumulation of lignin in the SCW of the involucral *** together,the results suggested that Hb NST1 positively regulated lignin accumulation in the involucral bracts and mediated the expression of lignin biosynthesis-related genes in strawflower.
