Carbon black （CB）/polymer composites with high refractive index （RI） were fabricated from poly（vinyl alcohol）（PVA） and covalently functionalized nano-CB （PVA-es-CB） by simple esterification reaction. Transmission electron microscopy showed that tmifonn aggregates of PVA-es-CB nanoparticles with a size smaller than I00 nm formed in the nanocomposite films. Ellipsometric measurements indicated that the PVA-es-CB/PVA composite films had a RI in the range 1.520-1.598 linearly increased with the PVA-es-CB volume content. Theoretical equation based on Lorentz-Lorenz theory provided reasonably close estimation of the refractive indices to the experimentally observed values. The hybrid films also revealed relatively good surface planarity, thermal stability and optical transparency.

The overarching goal of present study is to investigate the effects of Ir and Pd additions on the oxidation behaviour of PtAl coatings. Prior to depositing standard PtAl coating, Ir layer was electroplated by IrBr 3 aqueous solution while Pd layer was prepared using electroless deposition. Comparing with normal PtAl coating, cyclic oxidation tests were carried out on both the Ir-and Pd-modified aluminide coatings. The results showed that Ir-modified PtAl coating exhibited better oxidation resistance than both Pd-modified and normal PtAl coatings because Ir partly served as diffusion barrier to reserve Al while Pd did not.

To simulate the variety of big coal sample permeability during the rupture process under quasi-plane strain state, a series of experiments have been performed by a set of self-made coal-gas coupling test system. The test results indicate that the development trend between the permeability rate-strain curve and the stress-strain curve of big coal sample is almost consistent. The permeability rate-strain curve is general hysteretic to stress-strain curve, indicating the close relativity between the evolvement of damage and the development of permeability rate. However, there is time interval between them and the perme- ability rate peaks value when the sample reaches the softened stage after the peak stress. Based on the characteristics of per- meability rate-strain curve, three stages were plotted out： the stage before minimum permeability rate （/co）, the stage between minimum and maximum of permeability rate and the stage after the maximum permeability rate （kmax）. According to the three stages of permeability rate, the segmental curve equations of permeability rate-strain were fitted： the first stage can be fitted with negative exponential function; the second stage can be fitted with Boltzmann equation; and the last stage can be fitted with multinomial equation.

The present study was designed to isolate and characterize a purified extract from Fusarium solani FG319,termed MFS(Metabolite of Fusarium solani FG319) that showed anti-atherosclerosis activity by inhibiting 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A(HMG-Co A) *** surface methodology(RSM) was employed to achieve an improved yield from the fermentation *** inhibiting effect of the isolate,MFS,on HMG-Co A reductase was greater than that of the positive control,*** average recovery of MFS and the relative standard deviation(RSD) ranged between 99.75% to 101.18%,and 0.31% to 0.74%,*** RSDs intra-and inter-assay of the three samples ranged from 0.288% to 2.438%,and from 0.934% to 2.383%,*** the RSM,the concentration of inducer,cultivation time,and culture temperatures had significant effects on the MFS production,with the effect of inducer concentration being more pronounced that other *** conclusion,the optimal conditions for the MFS production were achieved using RSM and that MFS could be explored as an anti-atherosclerosis agent based on its ability to inhibit HMG-Co A reductase.

Tissue-specific expression and correlation with promoter DNA methylation of the LBP gene in pigs

Lipopolysaccharide binding protein(LBP) is a key factor in the recognition of lipopolysaccharide(LPS) and the initiation of immune response, thus regulating the body’s resistance to pathogenic infection. To investigate the tissue-specific expression characteristics of the LBP gene and its transcriptional regulation in pigs, we detected LBP expression in different tissues of 35-day-old Meishan weaned piglets, determined LBP core promoter region using bioinformatics prediction combined with dual luciferase activity assay, and finally detected methylation levels by pyrosequencing. The results showed that LBP expression in the liver tissue was significantly higher(Pbinding sequence. It is speculated that the methylation of Cp G2 and Cp G3 sites might inhibit YY1 binding to the promoter sequences, thereby regulating the tissue-specific expression of LBP. This study demonstrated the distinct patterns of LBP expression and promoter methylation in the tissues of Meishan pigs and indicated the potential roles of DNA methylation in regulating LBP expression, which may contribute to further investigations on pig LBP gene expression and function.

Two thermal barrier coating(TBC)systems comprising NiCoCrAlY bond coat onto a second-generation Ni-based single crystal superalloy and nano structured4 mol%Y_(2)O_(3)-stabilized ZrO_(2)(4YSZ)and conventional yttria-stabilized zirconia(YSZ)top coats upwardly were deposited by approaches of arc ion plating(AIP)and air plasma spray(APS).As indicted by the experimental results,the 4YSZ TBCs exhibited superior thermal cycling resistance compared with conventional YSZ TBCs at 1100℃.The 4YSZ top coat exhibited higher toughness due to its intrinsic property of nanocrystalline structure,homogeneously distributed and diverse directions of pores and preexisted *** cracks and spallation in 4YSZ TBCs occurred at the interface of top coat and thermally grown oxide(TGO)***,the crack initiation and propagation started along the lamellar interface in the top coat of conventional YSZ TBCs,leading to the rapid crack bridging and subsequent spalling of top ***,before and after oxidation,the 4YSZ top coat showed higher hardness compared to conventional YSZ top *** mechanism and distribution of residual stress in TGO for the 4YSZ TBCs were investigated in the current study.

Eastern Tianshan, a cardinal part of Northern Xinjiang compound continental crustoblock, is located in the east of Tianshan Diwa region. By analysis of regional geological and geophysical data, and by using crustobody theory and researching methods, this region can be divided into three sectors of different crustal structure. During Proterozoic to Eopaleozoic, the spreading and closing of Northern Tianshan Sea, on the foundation of disparate continental basements of each sectors, the transversal heterogeneity of tectonic movement and evolution resulted in the diversity of crustal structure and material formations. The metallogenic evolution indicated that different geotectonic evolution periods had not only different characteristics of mineralization commodity and mineral deposit types, but also the progressive mineralization feature. In Neopaleozoic, the closing of Northern Tianshan Sea from north to south and the difference of transmeridional tectonic deformation and magmation formed in the movement constituted the different metallogenic environment in shallow crust. Furthermore, it brought on the diverse Cu-Au-polymetal mineral deposit types and metallogenetic epoch from north to south and from west to east.

The bactericidal/permeability increasing protein (BPI) has an important function of nonspecific killing of Gram-negative bacteria. In this study, qPCR was used to detect the expression of the BPI gene in twelve tissues of Meishan piglets from birth to weaning. BPI gene overexpression, bacterial adhesions count and indirect immunofluorescence were applied to analyze the relationship between BPI gene expression and the infectivity of Escherichia coli and Salmonella. The results showed that the BPI gene was expressed highly in duodenum, jejunum and ileum (fold changes of relative expression levels were more than 10 000, 500 and 200, respectively). The expression of the BPI gene at 35 days of age was significantly higher (P<0.01) than that at all other days. Transcription of the BPI gene was up-regulated 2 401-fold in porcine intestinal epithelial (IPEC-J2) cells that were transfected with the BPI gene overexpression lentivirus (IPEC-J2-BPI), and significantly higher (P<0.01) than that in negative control cells (IPEC-J2-NC). Protein expression levels in IPEC-J2-BPI cells were also increased. When IPEC-J2 cells were incubated with E. coli and Salmonella, respectively, for 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 h, the number of bacterial adhesions in IPEC-J2-BPI cells was significantly less (P<0.05) than that in IPEC-J2-NC cells. The results of indirect immunofluorescence analysis showed that the number of bacterial adhesions in IPEC-J2-BPI cells was significantly less (P<0.01) than that in IPEC-J2-NC cells. These results demonstrated that the BPI gene might play an important role in regulating weaning stress especially intestinal-mediated immune response. Overexpression of the BPI gene at the cellular level could significantly enhance the anti-bactericidal ability against Gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella. This has important biological significance in piglet resistance to bacterial diarrhea.

An isoindolone derivative, Fungi fibrinolytic compound （R）-2,5-bis（（2R,3R）-2-（（E）-4,8-dimethylnona-3,7-dien- 1-y1）-3,5-dihydroxy-2-methy--7-oxo-3,4,7,9-tetrahydr pyrano[2,3-e]isoindol-8（2H）-yl）pentanoic acid （FGFC1, Fungi fibrinolytic compound 1）, was isolated from a rare marine microorganism strain Stachybotrys longispora FG216. The structure of FGFC1 was elucidated by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, and MS data; moreover, it was also evaluated for fibrinolytic activity in vitro and in vivo. The results showed that 0.1--0.4 mmol/L of FGFC1 could stimulate generation of plasmin activity （increased by 2.05--11.44 folds） by measuring Glu-plasminogen and Lys-plasminogen activation in vitro. The experiment of fluorescein isothiocyanate （FITC）-fibrinogen degradation indicated that the effect of FGFCI on fibrinolytic activity was mediated by plasminogen and scuPA. In addition, FGFC 1 （10 mg/kg） could dissolve most of pulmonary thrombus of Wistar rat in vivo. It is possible that FGFC 1 is a potential thrombolytic agent in the future.
