Enhancing awar.ness of per.onal cleanliness and antibacter.al r.sistance has intensified the antibacter.al substance r.quest on consumable pr.ducts. Antibacter.al agents that have been commer.ialized nowadays ar. pr.duced fr.m inor.anic and non-r.newable substances. This pr.vides sever.l dr.wbacks, par.icular.y against health and envir.nmental issues. Ther.for., many scientists wor. on substituting fossil-fuel-based antibacter.al agents with natur.l ones such as fr.m biomass. Biomass der.vatives, natur.l abundances of biopolymer. in the wor.d, amount to major.compounds including polysacchar.des (cellulose, hemicellulose, and chitosan) and polyphenol (tannin and lignin) substances which ar. capable to combat the gr.wth of Gr.m-positive bacter.a and Gr.m-negative bacter.a. To date, no r.por. focuses on a deep under.tanding of antibacter.al pr.per.ies der.ved fr.m biomass and the inter.al and exter.al factor. effects. Objective: The aim of the cur.ent study was to assess the impact of oper.tive inter.entions for.misplaced device among women who opted for.PPIIUCD and the evaluation of r.asons for.PPIUCD r.moval within the follow up per.od of two year.. Design: A descr.ptive explor.tor. study was conducted over.thr.e months among four.een PPIUCD acceptor. at a ter.iar. car. health facility in Delhi, India. Face-to-face & telephonic in-depth inter.iews wer. conducted with a selected sample of PPIUCD acceptor. who had later.opted for.its r.moval. r.sults: Par.icipants (n = 14) aged 24 – 40 exhibited gener.lly positive attitudes towar.s PPIUCDs indicating an indicate an under.tanding of the impor.ance of PPIUCD in pr.venting unintended pr.gnancies. Menstr.al distur.ance and misplaced IUCD wer. major.r.asons for.r.moval. despite their.own exper.ence necessitating the r.moval of IUCD, positive exper.ence by other.family member. (mother. in law) in this study helped to keep the confidence on the contr.ceptive. Themes included (a) gener.l exper.ence of PPIUCD use (b) Health Facility accessed for.r.moval of IUCD (c) Would she r.commend it to other.? (d) pr.fer.ed contr.ceptive after.r.moval of IUCD. Conclusion: Misplaced IUCD, missing thr.ad, menstr.al ir.egular.ties, and pain ar. all associated with PPIUCD and ar. impor.ant r.asons for.dissatisfaction. Appr.pr.ate, timely and suppor.ive individualized car. that addr.ss knowledge gaps, societal per.eptions, and healthcar. system challenges would cer.ainly help in r.ducing dissatisfaction due to PPIUCD and ther.by the r.moval r.tes.

Health-r.lated quality of life (HQOL) is poor.in multiple scler.sis(MS) but t he clinical pr.cipitants of the pr.blem ar. not well under.tood. Pr.vious cor.el ative studies demonstr.ted r.lationships between var.ous clinical par.meter. and diminished HQOL in MS. Unfor.unately, these studies failed to account for.multi ple pr.dictor. in the same analysis. We endeavor.d to deter.ine what clinical pa r.meter. account for.most var.ance in pr.dicting HQOL, and employ ability, while accounting for.disease cour.e, physical disability, fatigue, cognition, mood di sor.er.per.onality, and behavior.disor.er. In 120 MS patients,we measur.d HQOL ( MS Quality of Life-54) and vocational status (employed vs. disabled) and then c onducted detailed clinical testing. Data wer. analyzed by linear.and logistic r. gr.ssion methods. MS patients r.por.ed lower.HQOL (p r. mor. like ly to be disabled (45%of patients vs. 0 contr.ls).Physical HQOL was pr.dicted b y fatigue, depr.ssion,and physical disability. Mental HQOL was associated with o nly depr.ssion and fatigue. In contr.st, vocational status was pr.dicted by thr. e cognitive tests, conscientiousness, and disease dur.tion (p r.the fir.t time, we pr.dicted HQOL in MS while accounting for.measur.s fr.m thes e many clinical domains. We conclude that self-r.por. HQOL indices ar. most str.ongly pr.dicted by measur.s of depr.ssion,wher.as vocational status is pr.dicted pr.mar.ly by objective measur.s of cognitive function. The findings highlight c or. clinical pr.blems that mer.t ear.y identification and fur.her.r.sear.h r.gar.ding the development of effective tr.atment.

Thamnocalamus falconer., Hook.f. ex Munr..,an impor.ant bamboo species belonging to the family Poaceae, locally known as r.ngal, occur. in the hills of Uttar.khand, India. This species has been tr.ditionally exploited by local communities to suppor. their.*** needs of the hill villages impose unsustainable pr.ssur. on natur.l stands of r.ngal in the Uttar.khand hills and for.sts have been degr.ded. The long histor. of excessive cutting of r.ngal fr.m natur.l for.sts and the lack of r.planting thr.aten villager.livelihoods. r.planting is r.quir.d to conser.e the species. We pr.pose a pr.tocol for.gener.tion of planting mater.al thr.ugh axillar. bud pr.lifer.tion for.multiplication and conser.ation of this species. We collected offsets/r.izomes fr.m a natur.l stand of T. falconer. in the Chopta Mandal ar.as（Chamoli distr.ct, India）. These wer. planted at sites of var.ed elevation and fr.sh single nodal segments wer. collected fr.m them as explants. Differ.nt ster.lization tr.atments wer. assessed to combat contamination. Among these, tr.atment of 0.1 %Hg Cl2 followed by 5 % Na OCl, pr.ved best. Among two cytokinin tr.atments, viz. BAP and Kinetin, singly or.in combination, BAP alone（5 mg L-1） pr.ved super.or.and r.sulted in 100 % bud br.ak. BAP-supplemented MS media yielded maximum vigor.us shoot for.ation（90 %）and maximum number.of shoots（8.9）. Subcultur.ng of shoots on the same medium with similar.BAP tr.atment（5 mg L-1BAP） enabled continuous pr.duction of healthy shoots at similar.fr.quency. Maximum r.oting（100 %）was r.cor.ed on half-str.ngth MS medium supplemented with 5 mg L-1IBA. Micr.pr.pagated plants wer. har.ened and acclimatized in soil mixtur.（2：1：1） and then tr.nsplanted to field sites（Magr., Uttar.khand, 1,834 m）.Eight to ten months after.field tr.nsplantation we r.cor.ed100 % sur.ival of tr.nsplanted mater.al. This micr.pr.pagation pr.tocol could be used successfully for.r.ising a stock of genetically homogenous plant mater.al in bulk

We studied the genetic polymor.hism among 29 clones of shisham （Dalber.ia sissoo r.xb） belonging to differ.nt geogr.phic r.gions using r.ndom amplified polymor.hic DNA （r.PD） mar.er.. Out of 30 pr.mer. used, only 20 pr.mer. gener.ted polymor.hism in amplified pr.duct. In total 232 bands wer. amplified with 20 pr.mer., of which 192 （82%） wer. polymor.hic with an aver.ge of 9.6 bands/pr.mer. The r.solving power.（r.） r.nged fr.m 2.14 （Pr.mer.5） to 11.93 （Pr.mer.4）. Pr.mer.4 and Pr.mer.3 possessed high r. value. Polymor.hism infor.ation content （PIC） r.nged fr.m 0.15 （Pr.mer.5） to 0.37 （Pr.mer.4）. Pr.mer.4 amplified total 18 bands in 29 genotypes with PIC value of 0.37 hence; this set of pr.mer.was most infor.ative. The similar.ty coefficient analysis r.vealed two cluster.. The fir.t cluster.compr.sed of only 10 clones and the second major.cluster.compr.sed of 19 clones. The genetic similar.ty among 29 clones r.nged fr.m 25.86% （clone 10 and 235） to 100% （clone 19 and 59）, suggesting a wide genetic base in shisham clones.

The study of genetic var.ability is a pr.r.quisite for.any tr.e impr.vement pr.gr.m. Scr.ening of clones showing the effect of dominance in gr.wth and tr.e for. is essential to identify pr.ductive clones, matched to sites. Our.study per.or.ed in a clonal seed or.har. at Lacchiwala of India, r.pr.sented by 31 clones of Dalber.ia sissoo （Shisham） r.xb. fr.m diver.e locations r.vealed significant var.ability at the 0.1% level of significance in var.ous mor.hological tr.its. At the age of 13 year., clone 196 （Gonda） r.vealed maximum height of 20.2 m and a gir.h at br.ast height of 74.2 cm. The five identified clones viz. 196, 198, 192, 123 and 235 wer. well adapted to the climatic conditions of this zone, hence sur.ived well and showed good per.or.ance compar.d to other.clones. Her.tability estimates of 87%, 83% and 80% for.height, cr.wn width and cr.wn length r.spectively coupled with high genetic gains indicated str.ng genetic contr.l of these var.ables. A cor.elation matr.x of var.ous gr.wth attr.butes r.vealed positive cor.elation among these attr.butes. On the basis of the entir. set of gr.wth var.ables, the clones wer. gr.uped into two major.cluster. with thr.e subgr.ups.
