investigation of Fracture Strength of Current Post Materials (Peek, Fiber, Cast Metal) in Different Ferrule Conditions

Aim: The fracture resistance of the post materials used nowadays significantly impacts the fracture type of the post material. The current study aimed to examine the impact of the fracture resistance of PEEK posts, whose use as a post material has not yet become widespread, on the fracture pattern that will occur. Materials and Methods: Sixty-six extracted upper central incisor human teeth were used in the study. Six groups of posts were produced from metal, fiber, and PEEK materials (n = 11). Afterward, the fracture resistance test was applied to the samples. Samples were classified according to fracture type as repairable or irreparable. The ANOVA and test were used in statistical analysis. Post-hoc tests were carried out using Tukey’s and Tamhane’s T2 tests. On the other hand, Pearson’s chi-square test and the Fisher-Freeman-Halton test were conducted for comparisons between categorical variables. The statistical significance level was accepted as p Results: According to the fracture resistance test results, the groups where metal personal posts were used displayed higher fracture resistance in comparison with all other groups. According to the results of the optical microscope examination, the incidence of repairable fractures was significantly higher in the PEEK post group with ferrule preparation (p 0.05). Conclusion: in the absence of the ferrule effect, fractures are catastrophic, regardless of the material used. The use of PEEK as a post material contributes to keeping fractures at a repairable level.

background:The European Society for Medical Oncology(ESMO)guidelines are among the most comprehensive and widely used clinical practice guidelines(CPGs)***,the level of scientific evidence supporting ESMO CPG recommendations has not been systematically *** study assessed ESMO CPG levels of evidence(LOE)and grades of recommendations(GOR),as well as their trends over time across various cancer ***:We manually extracted every recommendation with the infectious Diseases Society of America(iDSA)classification from each *** examined the distribution of LOE and GOR in all available ESMO CPG guidelines across different topics and cancer ***:Among the 1,823 recommendations in the current CPG,30%were classified as LOEⅠ,and 43%were classified as GOR ***,there was a slight decrease in LOEⅠ(−2%)and an increase in the proportion of GOR A(+1%)in the current CPG compared to previous *** proportion of GOR A recommendations based on higher levels of evidence such as randomized trials(LOEⅠ–Ⅱ)shows a decrease(71%vs.63%,p=0.009)while recommendations based on lower levels of evidence(LOEⅢ–Ⅴ)show an increase(29%vs.37%,p=0.01)between previous and current *** the current versions,the highest proportion of LOEⅠ(42%)was found in recommendations related to pharmacotherapy,while the highest proportion of GOR A recommendations was found in the areas of pathology(50%)and diagnostic(50%)*** variability in LOEⅠand GOR A recommendations and their changes over time was observed across different cancer ***:One-third of the current ESMO CPG recommendations are supported by the highest level of *** well-designed randomized clinical trials are needed to increase the proportion of LOEⅠand GOR A recommendations,ultimately leading to improved outcomes for cancer patients.

increased syndecan-1 and glypican-3 predict poor perinatal outcome and treatment resistance in intrahepatic cholestasis

background:intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(iCP)increases the risk of adverse pregnancy *** study aimed to explore the association between serum syndecan-1 and glypican-3 levels and the adverse perinatal outcome as well as the responses to the treatment of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA).Methods:This prospective,case control study included 88 pregnant women(44 women with iCP and 44 healthy controls).The primary end points were the perinatal outcome and the response to UDCA therapy.A logistic regression model was used to identify the independent risk factors of adverse pregnancy outcomes and reduced response to UDCA ***:Women with iCP had significantly higher serum syndecan-1(1.27±0.36 ng/m L vs.0.98±0.50 ng/m L;P=0.003),glypican-3(1.78±0.13 ng/m L vs.1.69±0.16 ng/m L;P=0.004),AST(128.59±1.44 vs.13.29±1.32 U/L;Pith the *** increased levels of syndecan-1(OR=4.715,95%Ci:1.554–14.310;P=0.006),glypican-3(OR=8.465,95%Ci:3.372–21.248;P=0.007),ALT(OR=1.382,95%Ci:1.131–1.690;P=0.002),and postprandial bile acid(Pba)(OR=3.392,95%Ci:1.003–12.869;P=0.026)were correlated to *** adverse neonatal outcome was related to increased glypican-3(OR=4.275,95%Ci:2.726–5.635;P=0.039),and Pba(OR=3.026,95%Ci:1.069–13.569;P=0.037).increases of syndecan-1(OR=7.464,95%Ci:2.130–26.153,P=0.017)and glypican-3(OR=6.194,95%Ci:2.951–13.002;P=0.025)were the risk factors of decreased response to UDCA ***:Syndecan-1 and glypican-3 might be powerful determinants in predicting adverse perinatal outcome in patients with iCP,and they can be used to predict the response to the UDCA treatment.

Petrogenesis of the ükapili Granitoid and its Mafic Enclaves in Elmal Area (Nigde, Central Anatolia, Turkey)

The Late Cretaceous Uckapth Granitoid including mafic microgranular enclaves intruded into metapelitic and metabasic rocks, and overlain unconformably by Neogene ignimbrites in the Ni^de area of Turkey. it is mostly granite and minor granodiorite in composition, whereas its enclaves are dominantly gabbro with a few diorites in composition. The Uckapdl Granitoid is composed mainly of quartz, K-feldspar, plagioclase, biotite, muscovite and minor amphibole while its enclaves contain mostly plagioclase, amphibole, minor pyroxene and biotite. The Uckapth Granitoid has calcalkaline and peraluminous （AJCNK= 1.0-1.3） geochemical characteristics. it is characterized by high LiLE/HFSE and LREE/HREE ratios （（La/Lu）N 3-33）, and has negative ba, Ta, Nb and Eu anomalies, resembling those of comsion granitoids. The {）fkaplh Granitoid has relatively high STSr/S6Sr0） ratios （0.711189--0.716061） and low eNd（t） values （-5.13 to -7.13）, confirming crustal melting. in contrast, the enclaves are tholeiitic and metaluminous, and slightly enriched in LiLEs （K, Rb） and Th, and have negative Ta, Nb and Ti anomalies; propose that they were derived from a subduction-modified mantle source. based on mineral and whole rock chemistry data, the Uckapth granitoid is H-（hybrid） type, post-collision granitoid developed by mixing/mingllng processes between crustal melts and mantle-derived mafic magmas.
