Green ionic metal-organic frameworks as nanocatalysts for CO_(2)fixation

Co,Ni,and Zn iso-reticular coordination polymers of 2,5-dihydroxyterphthalic acid(H_(2)dot)can be rapidly obtained under room temperature and aqueous conditions using either sodium or ammonium hydroxide as the bases to deprotonate the *** use of metal bromides and tetrabutylammonium hydroxide(TbAOH)as the base allows the green synthesis of ionic metal-organic frameworks(MOFs),characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),thermo gravimetric analysis(TGA),H-nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR),elemental analysis,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and employed in the pressure,solvent,and additive-free CO_(2)fixation to epoxides by its cycloaddition to epichlorohydrin,exhibiting a cooperative behavior between the MOF and the ionic liquid formed within the framework,achieving TONs of the confined tetrabutylammonium bromide(TbAbr)up to 700.

Helicobacter pylori are ubiquitous Gram-negative bacteria with a high estimated level of infection in the world populations, but a majority of the infected persons are asymptomatic. This pathogen has been classified by the World Health Organization as a class I carcinogen and recognized as the causal agent of most peptic ulcers and chronic gastritis that might lead to stomach cancer. Although not all the transmission pathways of these bacteria into humans have been propedy identified, enough data have suggested that the oral-oral or fecal-oral ones are the main infection routes. Helicobacterpylori have been detected in non-treated water and in drinking water, which suggested that water might be an important infection source. As childhood is the critical period of infection, the aim of the present work was to examine the presence of Helicobacterpylori in soil samples from public playing areas of Spanish parks.

The importance of MYC function in cancer was discovered in the late 1970s when the sequence of the avian retrovirus that causes myelocytic leukemia was *** then,over 40 years of unceasing research have highlighted the significance of this protein in malignant transformation,especially in hematologic ***,some of the earliest connections among the higher expression of proto-oncogenes(such as MYC),genetic rearrangements and their relation to cancer development were made in burkitt lymphoma,chronic myeloid leukemia and mouse *** myeloma(MM),in particular,is a plasma cell malignancy strictly associated with MYC deregulation,suggesting that therapeutic strategies against it would be beneficial in treating this ***,targeting MYC was-and,somehow,still is-challenging due to its unique properties:lack of defined three-dimensional structure,nuclear localization and absence of a targetable enzymatic *** these difficulties,however,many studies have shown the potential therapeutic impact of direct or indirect MYC *** molecules have been tested,in fact,in the context of *** this review,we summarize the current status of the different compounds,including the results of their clinical testing,and propose to continue with the efforts to identify,repurpose,redesign or improve drug candidates to combine them with standard of care therapies to overcome resistance and enable better management of myeloma treatment.

Soil Conservation Measures in Rainfed Olive Orchards in South-Eastern Spain: Impacts of Plant Strips on Soil Water Dynamics

Sloping and mountainous olive production systems are widespread, occupying large parts of the Mediterranean landscape prone to water erosion. Soil erosion, runoff, and soil water content patterns over a three-year period were monitored in erosion plots on a mountainside with rainfed olive （Olea europaea cv. Picual） trees under： 1） non-tillage with barley strips of 4 m width （bS）; 2） non-tillage with native vegetation strips of 4 m width （NVS）; and 3） non-tillage without plant strips （NT）. The erosion plots, located in Lanjaron （Granada, south-eastern Spain）, on a 30% slope, were 192 m2 in area. For assessing soil water dynamics in real-time and near-continuous soil water content measurements, multisensor capacitance probes were installed in the middle of plant strips and beneath the olive tree at five soil depths （10, 20, 30, 50, and 100 cm）. The highest erosion and runoff rates were measured under NT, with a mean of 17.3 Mg ha-1 year-1 and 140.0 mm year-1, respectively, over the entire study period. The bS and NVS with respect to the NT reduced erosion by 71% and 59% and runoff by 95% and 94%, respectively. In general, greater available soil water content was found under bS than NVS and NT, especially beneath the olive tree canopies. These results supported the recommendation of non-tillage with barley strips in order to reduce erosion and to preserve soil water for trees in traditional mountainous olive-producing areas, where orchards cover vast tracts of land.

In Mexico,there is a need to produce large quantities of plantlets for the establishment and replanting of blue(***)agave production *** of these plots are within the origin denomination area(DOT,Spanish acronym)of the distilled product of this plant,known as *** objective of this study was to develop an in vitropropagation protocol for Agave tequilana Weber *** using segmented stems in both:solid and liquid media.A disinfection and in vitro technique were developed to obtain shoots,through plantlets collected in commercial plots,which attained 100%surface-disinfection and budding *** the multiplication stage,the effects of 6-benzylaminopurine(bA)(0.0,4.4 and 13.2μM)and kinetin(0.0,9.4,18.8 and 37.6μM)were evaluated on lateralshoot production of segmented sagittal *** were cultivated on Murashige&Skoog(MS)medium,with the addition of 3.0%sucrose and 8 g L−1 *** was observed that bA and kinetin increased the number of shoots per explant,obtaining up to 18 and 26,***,it was found that just the sagittal segmentation of explants increased axillary *** the other hand,segmented-stem bases were grown in MS liquid medium with 3.0%sucrose,inside a RITAsystem,programmed by a 5 min immersion step with a frequency of every 4 *** effect of Indole−3-Acetic acid(IAA)(0.57,2.9,5.7μM)was evaluated,while maintaining a concentration of bA(13.2μM).It was observed that the greatest concentration of IAA led to the formation of more than 20 buds per *** results offer a new methodology to increase the efficiency of *** Weber ***-in vitro multiplication by sagittal segmentation of stems and the addition of bA and/or IAA.

The increasing number of fossil pterosaur eggs sheds light on nesting environments and breeding be- haviors of these extinct flying reptiles. Here we report the first partial three-dimensional egg of the pterosaur, Pteroduustro guinazui, from central Argentina. The specimen was discovered from the same Albian deposits as the exceptional R guinazui embryo described in 2004. Microscopic characterizations indicate a pristine preservation of the 50 bm thick calcium carbonate, which differs significantly from the soft shell of Chinese pterosaur eggs. Estimate of the eggshell conductance implies that the nest had a minimum moisture content of 75%. This moisture estimate, combined with geological and taphonomical data, suggests that P. guinazui may have adopted a nesting strategy similar to those of grebes and flamingos rather than being buried on land, as previously hypothesized. Moreover, our results demon- strate that the nesting paleoenvironment of this pterosaur species was closely linked to a mesohaline lacustrine ecosystem in a basin governed by regional tectonic subsidence, a setting characteristic for the feeding and reproduction of modern flamingos.

A stable anthraquinone-derivative cathode to develop sodium metal batteries: The role of ammoniates as electrolytes

Rechargeable sodium metal batteries constitute a cost-effective option for energy storage although sodium shows some drawbacks in terms of reactivity with organic solvents and dendritic *** we demonstrate that an organic dye,indanthrone blue,behaves as an efficient cathode material for the development of secondary sodium metal batteries when combined with novel inorganic *** electrolytes are ammonia solvates,known as liquid ammoniates,which can be formulated as NaI·3.3NH_(3) and NabF_(4)·2.5NH_(3).They impart excellent stability to sodium metal,and they favor sodium non-dendritic growth linked to their exceedingly high sodium ion *** advantage is complemented by a high specific *** battery described here can last hundreds of cycles at 10 C while keeping a Coulombic efficiency of 99%from the first *** of the high capacity of the cathode and the superior physicochemical properties of the electrolytes,the battery can reach a specific energy value as high as 210 W h kgIb^(-1),and a high specific power of 2.2 kW kgIb^(-1),even at below room temperature(4℃).Importantly,the battery is based on abundant and cost-effective materials,bearing promise for its application in large-scale energy storage.
