Scientific research involving nanotechnology has grown exponentially and has led to the development of engineered nanoparticles（NPs）.Silica NPs have been used in numerous scientific and technological applications over the past decade,necessitating the development of efficient methods for their *** studies have explored the potential of laser ablation as a convenient way to prepare metal and oxide *** to its high silica content,low cost,and widespread availability,sugarbeet bagasse is highly suitable as a raw material for producing silica NPs via laser *** this study,two different NP production methods were investigated：laser ablation and NaOH *** developed a novel,one-step method to produce silica NPs from sugarbeet bagasse using laser ablation,and we characterized the silica NPs using environmental scanning electron microscopy（ESEM）,energy dispersive spectrometry（EDS）,dynamic light scattering（DLS）,transmission electron microscopy（tEM）,attenuated total reflectanceFourier transform infrared spectroscopy（AtR-Ft1R）,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） and Raman *** analysis and XPS confirmed the presence of silica *** NPs produced by laser ablation were smaller（38-190 nm） than those produced by NaOH treatment（531-825 nm）.Finally,we demonstrated positive effects of silica NPs produced from laser ablation on the growth of microalgae,and thus,our novel method may be beneficial as an environmentally friendly procedure to produce NPs.

the tight focusing properties of a radially polarized Gaussian beam with a nested pair of vortices having a radial wave front distribution are investigated theoretically by the vector diffraction theory. the results show that the optical intensity in the focal region can be altered considerably by changing the location of the vortices nested in a radially polarized Gaussian beam. It is noted that focal evolution from one annular focal pattern to a highly confined focal spot in the transverse direction is observed corresponding to the change in the location of the optical vortices in the input plane. It is also observed that the generated focal hole or spot lead to a focal shift along the optical axis remarkably under proper radial phase modulation. Hence the proposed system may be applied to construct tunable optical traps for both high and low refractive index particles.

We present the diurnal and seasonal variability of ambient NH3, NO, NO2 and SO2 over Delhi, India. Ambient NH3, NO and NO2 were measured continuously during winter, summer and autumn seasons using NH3- and NOx-analyzer, which operates by chemiluminescence method with a higher estimation efficiency （〉 90%） than the chemical trap method （reproducibility 4.7%）. Prominent diurnal, day-to-day and seasonal variations of ambient mixing ratio of NH3, NO, NO2 and SO2 were observed during the study period. Seasonal variation with higher mixing ratio in winter was observed for all measured trace gases except NO. Day-night variation of all measured trace gases observed was higher in winter in comparison with summer. Late morning increase in NO2 mixing ratio might be attributed to conversion of NO to NO2 with the interaction ofO3.

the objective of this paper was to predict the residual strength of post impacted carbon/epoxy composite laminates using an online acoustic emission （AE） monitoring and artificial neural networks （ANN）. the laminates were made from eight-layered carbon （in woven mat form） with epoxy as the binding medium by hand lay-up technique and cured at a pressure of 100 kg/cm2 under room temperature using a 30 ton capacity compression molding machine for 24 h. 21 tensile specimens （AStM D3039 standard） were cut from the cross ply laminates. 16 specimens were subjected to impact load from three different heights using a Fractovis Plus drop impact tester. both impacted and non-impacted specimens were subjected to uniaxial tension under the acoustic emission monitoring using a 100 kN FIE servo hydraulic universal testing machine. the dominant AE parameters such as counts, energy, duration, rise time and amplitude are recorded during monitoring. Cumulative counts corresponding to the amplitude ranges obtained during the tensile testing are used to train the network. this network can be used to predict the failure load of a similar specimen subjected to uniaxial tension under acoustic emission monitoring for certain percentage of the average failure load.

the endemic fauna of New Zealand evolved in the absence of mammalian predators and their introduction has been responsible for many extinctions and *** species including possums(trichosurus vulpecula Kerr),ship rats(Rattus rattus L.)and stoats(Mustela erminea L.)are targeted to protect native *** methodologies currently rely largely on labor-intensive trapping or the use of increasingly unpopular poisons,or poisons that are linked with low welfare ***,the development of safer humane predator toxins and delivery systems is highly ***-aminopropiophenone(PAPP)is being developed as a toxin for feral cats(Felis catus L.)and *** appear to be much more susceptible to PAPP than birds,so it potentially has high target specificity,at least in New *** trials with 20 feral cats and 15 stoats have been undertaken using meat baits containing a proprietary formulation of PAPP.A PAPP dose of 20-34 mg kg^(-1)was lethal for feral cats and 37-95 mg kg^(-1)was lethal for *** assessments suggest that PAPP,for the control of feral cats and stoats,is a humane and effective *** causes methaemoglobinaemia,resulting in central nervous system anoxia,lethargy and death.

We present the characteristics of the thermoluminescence (tL) response of Ge-doped optical fibers with various energies and exposures of photon *** investigate the Ge-doped SiO2 as an efficient tL material,the tL responses are compared with commercially available standard tLD100 *** Ge-doped optical fiber and tLD100 are placed in gelatin capsules and irradiated with x-ray using a toshiba model KXO-15R x-ray *** Ge-doped fiber and tLD-100 show linear response as a function of current and time using x-ray photon of energy 60,80 and *** irradiated with 60,80 and l00kV x-ray energy at various currents (mA ),tube distance (cm) and exposure time (second) ranges,tLD100 media provide a tL yield up to two times that of Ge-doped *** energy response of the Ge-doped fibers is linear and similar over the 60-l00 kVenergy range,and its sensitivity is 0.39±0.05 of the tLD100 *** glow curves of tLD 100 and doped optical fiber are also compared.

this paper reports the results of the analyses of 17 different Hb variants which were observed in 37 families. High pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used to separate tryptic and thermolytic peptides of globin chains. the double coupling microsequencing technique can successfully be used for sequencing small or larger peptides.

A high temperature-tolerating thermoacidophilic archae （tA） was isolated from water samples collected from a hot sulfur-containing spring in the Yunnan Province, China, and was used in bioleaching experiments of a low-grade chalcopyrite ore. the tA grow at temperatures ranging from 40 to 80℃, with 65℃ being the optimum temperature, and at pH values of l.5 to 4.0, with an optimum pH value of 2.0. the bioleaching experiments of the chalcvpyrite ore were conducted in both laboratory batch bioreactors and leaching columns. the results obtained from the bioreactor experiments showed that the tA bioleaching rate of copper reached 97% for a 12-day leaching period, while the bioleaching rate was 32.43% for thiobacillus ferrooxidans （tf） leaching for the same leaching time. In the case of column leaching, tests of a two-phase leaching （196 days）, that is, a two-month （56 days） tf leaching in the first phase, followed by a 140-day tA leaching in the second phase were performed. the average leaching rate of copper achieved for the 140-day tA leaching was 195mg/（L.d）, while for the control experiments, it was as low as 78mg/（L .d） for the tf leaching, indicating that the tA possesses a more powerful oxidizing ability to the chalcopyrite than tf therefore, it is suggested that the two-phase leaching process be applied to .for the heap leaching operations, whereas, the tA can be used in the second phase when the temperature inside the heap has increased, and the primary copper sulfide minerals have already been partially oxidized with tf beforehand in the first phase.

Due to the advanced developments in communication technologies,Internet of vehicles and vehicular adhoc networks(VANEt)offers numerous opportunities for effectively managing transportation *** the other,the cloud environment needs to disseminate the emergency message to the vehicles which are consistently distributed on the roadway so that every vehicle gets the messages from closer vehicles in a straightforward *** resolve this issue,clustering and routing techniques can be designed using computational intelligence *** this motivation,this paper presents a new type-2 fuzzy sets based clustering with metaheuristic optimization based routing(t2FSCMOR)technique for secure communication in *** t2FSC-MOR technique aims to elect CHs and optimal routes for secure intercluster data transmission in *** proposed model involves t2FSC technique for the selection of CHs and construction of *** t2FSC technique uses different parameters namely traveling speed(tS),link quality(LQ),trust factor(tF),inter-vehicle distance(IVD),and neighboring node count(NCC).the inclusion of trust factor helps to select the proper cluster heads(CHs)for secure data dissemination ***,trust aware seagull optimization based routing(tASGOR)approach was derived for the optimal selection of routes in *** order to validate the enhanced performance of proposed technique,the set of simulations take place and the outcomes are examined interms of different *** experimental outcomes highlighted the improved performance of the proposed model over the other state of art techniques with a higher throughput of 98%.
