A subtree-based approach to failure detection and protection for multicast in SDN

Software-defined networking(SDN) has received tremendous attention from both industry and *** centralized control plane in SDN has a global view of the network and can be used to provide more effective solutions for complex problems,such as traffic *** study is motivated by recent advancement in SDN and increasing popularity of multicasting *** propose a technique to increase the resiliency of multicasting in SDN based on the subtree protection *** is a group communication technology,which uses the network infrastructure efficiently by sending the data only once from one or multiple sources to a group of receivers that share a common *** applications,e.g.,live video streaming and video conferencing,become popular,but they are delay-sensitive *** in an ongoing multicast session can cause packet losses and delay,which can significantly affect quality of service(Qo S).In this study,we adapt a subtree-based technique to protect a multicast tree constructed for Open Flow switches in *** proposed algorithm can detect link or node failures from a multicast tree and then determines which part of the multicast tree requires changes in the flow table to recover from the *** a centralized controller in SDN,the backup paths can be created much more effectively in comparison to the signaling approach used in traditional multiprotocol label switching(MPLS) networks for backup paths,which makes the subtree-based protection mechanism *** also implement a prototype of the algorithm in the POX controller and measure its performance by emulating failures in different tree topologies in Mininet.

Template-based Gait Authentication Through bayesian Thresholding

While gait recognition is the mapping of a gait sequence to an identity known to the system, gait authentication refers to the problem of identifying whether a given gait sequence belongs to the claimed identity. A typical gait authentication system starts with a feature representation such as a gait template, then proceeds to extract its features, and a transformation is ultimately applied to obtain a discriminant feature set. Almost every authentication approach in literature favours the use of Euclidean distance as a threshold to mark the boundary between a legitimate subject and an impostor. This article proposes a method that uses the posterior probability of a bayes' classifier in place of the Euclidean distance. The proposed framework is applied to template-based gait feature representations and is evaluated using the standard CASIA-b gait database. Our study experimentally demonstrates that the bayesian posterior probability performs significantly better than the de facto Euclidean distance approach and the cosine distance which is established in research to be the current state of the art.

Organic-inorganic hybrid fluorescent sensor thin films of rhodamine b embedded Ag-SbA 15 for selective recognition of Hg(Ⅱ)ions in water

Nowadays, the rapid and effective detection of low doses of heavy metal pollutants in contaminated water is a timely challenge in environmental pollution research. In this study, a rapid and highly sensitive assay for the detection of Hg^2＋based on quenching of metal-enhanced fluorescence of rhodamine b（Rb）has been fabricated. Rb and silver nanoparticle were incorporated into the mesoporous siliceous framework spin cast on a quartz glass through post-synthetic incorporation method. The morphology and crystallinity of mesoporous structure and Ag nanoparticle were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analyses. Photoluminescence assays on the hybrid thin film of Rb-Ag-SbA15 showed a high enhancement when compared to the intensity of silver free SbA15-Rb in the wavelength of 575 nm. The fluorescence of Rb-Ag-SbA15 thin film decreased gradually with the increase in the concentration of Hg^2＋and the detection limits were 10.54 nmol/L. Furthermore, the fluorescence intensity increased linearly with the concentration of Hg^2＋in the range from 1.0 ×10^-8mol/L to10× 10^-8mol/L, with a response time of a few seconds. In addition, this system offers a high selectivity over interfering cations such as Cd^2＋ and Pb^2＋. Overall, we have developed an optical assay having a wellordered mesoporous SbA15 containing Ag-Rbfor selective detection of Hg^2＋in aqueous solution. The scheme combines the advantages of specific binding interactions between Hg^2＋and Rb molecule and optical emission properties of Rb. The method is suitable for a single-shot and irreversible analytical assay in a quartz glass/microtiter plate.

In silico prediction of monovalent and chimeric tetravalent vaccines for prevention and treatment of dengue fever

Reverse vaccinology method was used to predict the monovalent peptide vaccine candidate to produce antibodies for therapeutic purpose and to predict tetravalent vaccine candidate to act as a common vaccine to cover all the dengue virus serotypes. Envelope（E）-proteins of DENV-1-4 serotypes were used for vaccine prediction using NCbI,Uniprot/Swissprot, Swiss-prot viewer, VaxiJen V2.0, TMHMM, bCPREDS, Propred-1, Propred and MHC Pred. Eproteins of DENV-1-4 serotypes were identified as antigen from which T cell epitopes, through b cell epitopes, were predicted to act as peptide vaccine candidates. Each selected T cell epitope of E-protein was confirmed to act as vaccine and to induce complementary antibody against particular serotype of dengue virus. Chimeric tetravalent vaccine was formed by the conjugation of four vaccines, each from four dengue serotypes to act as a common vaccine candidate for all the four dengue serotypes. It can be justifiably concluded that the monovalent 9-mer T cell epitope for each DENV serotype can be used to produce specific antibody against dengue virus and a chimeric common tetravalent vaccine candidate to yield a comparative vaccine to cover any of the four dengue virus serotype. This vaccine is expected to be highly immunogenic against dengue fever.

Antioxidant mediated response of Scoparia dulcis in noise-induced redox imbalance and immunohistochemical changes in rat brain

Noise has been regarded as an environmental/occupational stressor that causes damages to both auditory and non- auditory organs. Prolonged exposure to these mediators of stress has often resulted in detrimental effect, where oxidative/nitrosative stress plays a major role. Hence, it would be appropriate to examine the possible role of free radicals in brain discrete regions and the ＂antioxidants＂ mediated response of S. dulcis. Animals were subjected to noise stress for 15 days （100 db/4 hours/day） and estimation of endogenous free radical and antioxidant activity were carried out on brain discrete regions （the cerebral cortex, cerebellum, brainstem, striatum, hippocampus and hypothalamus）. The result showed that exposure to noise could alleviate endogenous free radical generation and altered anfioxidant status in brain discrete regions when compared to that of the control groups. This alleviated free radical generation （H202 and NO） is well supported by an upregulated protein expression on immunohistochemistry of both iNOS and nNOS in the cerebral cortex on exposure to noise stress. These findings suggest that increased free radical generation and altered anti-oxidative status can cause redox imbalance in the brain discrete regions~ However, free radical scavenging activity of the plant was evident as the noise exposed group treated with S. dulcis[200 mg/（kg · b. w）] displayed a therapeutic effect by decreasing the free radical level and regulate the anti-oxidative status to that of control animals. Hence, it can be concluded that the efficacy of S. dulcis could be attributed to its free radical scavenging activity and anti-oxidative property.

AbSTRACT A simple, economic, and time-efficient related substance, GC method has been developed for the analysis of 1,4-Cyclohexanedione mono- ethylene ketal(will be specified as ketal) in the presence of a potential impurity 1,4-cyclohexa- nedione bis (ethylene ketal) [will be specified as diketal]. Successful chromatographic separa- tion of the ketal from the impurity was achieved on a DbWAX ETR, 30 m x 0.32 mm x 1.0μ FT column with nitrogen as carrier gas and FID detector. The method was validated for linearity, accuracy, precision, and specificity and can be used for quality control during manufacture of ketal. A validated GC method is reported for the ketal for the first time.

Corrosion behavior of as-cast Mg–8Li–3Al+xCe alloy in 3.5wt% NaCl solution

Mg-8Li-3Al＋xCe alloys（x = 0.5wt%, 1.0wt%, and 1.5wt%） were prepared through a casting route in an electric resistance furnace under a controlled atmosphere. The cast alloys were characterized by X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. The corrosion behavior of the as-cast Mg-8Li-3Al＋xCe alloys were studied under salt spray tests in 3.5wt% NaC l solution at 35°C, in accordance with standard ASTM b-117, in conjunction with potentiodynamic polarization（PDP） tests. The results show that the addition of Ce to Mg-8Li-3Al（LA83） alloy results in the formation of Al_2Ce intermetallic phase, refines both the α-Mg phase and the Mg_（17）Al_（12） intermetallic phase, and then increases the microhardness of the alloys. The results of PDP and salt spray tests reveal that an increase in Ce content to 1.5wt% decreases the corrosion rate. The best corrosion resistance is observed for the LA83 alloy sample with 1.0wt% Ce.
