Aim: To determine the relationship between metabolic syndrome (MS) and erectile dysfunction (ED) and to see which risk factors correlated the best with ED. Methods: Seventy-nine cardiology clinic outpatients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and lipid metabolism disorder were recruited. They were categorized as having MS, hypertension (blood pressure greater than 130/85 mmHg) and dyslipidemia. ED was classified based on International Index of Erectile Function scores. Patients were grouped into quartiles based on body mass index (bMI). Chi-square, Pearson's correlation and regression tests were used for statistical analysis. results: The mean age of the patients was 56.6 years. ED was diagnosed in 59 (74.7 %) of the 79 patients. In the 38 patients with MS, all had ED. ED was not significantly correlated with cholesterol levels (P > 0.05), but was found often in patients who had both hyperc-holesterolemia and HT (Pgnificantly correlated with dyslipidemia (P > 0.05). Tweenty-two of the 23 patients who had bMI greater than 30 had ED, which was significantly more prevalent than that in those who had normal bMI (Pgh ED was more prevalent in cigarette smokers, it was not significantly different from non-smokers (P>0.5). Conclusion: ED is present in a high percentage of patients with MS. Among multiple risk factors for ED, MS correlates the most highly. The next most important risk group is the patients with hypertension +hypercholestrolemia and obesity (bMI > 30).

bstract>Aim: To determine the ultrastructural effects of sildenafil on the female genital organs. Methods: Twenty female cycling Wistar albino rats weighing 250±20 g were randomly divided into two groups of 10 each. Rats of one group were gavaged with 0.5 mg·kg-1·d-1 of sildenafil 3 days in a week for 4 weeks and the other served as the controls. After cessation of treatment animals were sacrificed by cervical dislocation under methoxyflurane anaesthesia. The clitoris, vagina, uterus and bartholin glands were taken at the estrous and were fixed with 10 % formalin solution for light microscopy and 2.5 % glutaraldehyde and osmic acid for electron microscopy. results: Under the light microscope, the fibrocollageous tissue was found increased, the capillaries enlarged and the connecting tissue elements increased in the corpus cavernosum in the treated group. On electron microscopy, increased connective tissue, fibroblasts with notched nucleus, shorten immature collagen fibers without striation were seen. Abundant foldings and penetration with collagen bundles were observed in the basal membrane. Large connection complexes, especially gap junctions among the wide capillary endothelial cells were observed. Conclusion: There are evident histological changes due to sildenafil citrate in female rat corpus cavernosum. The clitoris and bartholin glands were the most effected organs. While the histopathological changes of clitoral tissue could be expected, an increase in the mass of bartholin gland was surprised.

A bishydrazone formed by the condensation of isatinmonohydrazone and salicylaldehyde reacted with lanthanide（Ⅲ） chloride to form complexes of the type [Ln（HISA）2Cl3], where, Ln=La（Ⅲ）, Ce（Ⅲ）, Pr（Ⅲ）, nd（Ⅲ）, Sm（Ⅲ）, Eu（Ⅲ）, or gd（Ⅲ） and HISA= [（2-hydroxybenzaldehyde）-3-isatin]bishydrazone. both reactions were carried out under microwave conditions. The ligand and the metal complexes were characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements, UV visible, infrared, far infrared, and proton NMR spectral data. The ligand acted as neutral tridentate, coordinating through the carbonyl oxygen, azomethine nitrogen, and phenolic oxygen without deprotonation. The ligand and lanthanum（Ⅲ） complex were subjected to X-ray diffraction studies. The X-ray diffraction pattern of ligand exhibited its crystalline nature and that of the lanthanum（Ⅲ） complex indicated its amorphous character. The thermal decomposition behaviour of the complex, [La（HISA）2Cl3], was examined in the temperature range of 40-800 ℃ using Tg, DTg, and DTA. The ligand and the metal complexes were screened for their antifungal activities.

The nitrate complexes of cerium, praseodymium and neodymium with 1,10-phenanthroline （phen） of general formula [Ln（phen）2（NO3）2（H2O）2]·NO3 （where, Ln=Ce, Pr and nd） were prepared and characterized by X-ray crystallography. Thermolysis of these complexes was investigated by simultaneous thermogravimetry （Tg） and differential thermal analysis （DTA）. Isothermal Tg was taken to evaluate the kinetic parameters using model fitting as well as model free isoconversional methods. The thermolytic pathways were also suggested, which involves decomposition followed by ignition. All the three complexes had coordination number ten and showed multistep decompositions. In order to evaluate the response of rapid heating, ignition delay （Di） measurements were undertaken. The activation energies for ignition were found to decrease in the order： nd〉Pr〉Ce.

The goal of this mixed-methods study was to identify and compare the key capacity considerations regarding public health system resilience before and after the 2023 Türkiye-Syria earthquakes. Public health system resilience was assessed through online and face-to-face workshops using the United Nations Public Health System resilience Scorecard. The pre-earthquake evaluation was conducted in Istanbul and Trabzon in 2021; the post-earthquake evaluation took place in Hatay and Kahramanmara? in 2023, with a total of 41 participants each. The online workshops lasted approximately four days, while the face-to-face workshops lasted one day. The study found a significant decrease in the scores for most scorecard resilience indicators in the post-earthquake assessment. Qualitative analysis showed that this decline was largely due to infrastructure collapse. Additionally, defining the roles of health disciplines in disaster management and having data transmission procedures between public health system stakeholders in disasters were among the main capacity considerations in both the pre-and post-earthquake assessments. The post-earthquake evaluation revealed several capacity gaps that had not been addressed in pre-earthquake assessments in areas such as disaster preparedness of vulnerable populations and logistics. The findings highlight the critical importance of strengthening building stock and infrastructure to establish a disaster-resilient public health system.

Laser-induced steel plasma is generated by focusing a Q-switched nd：YAg visible laser（532 nm wavelength） with an irradiance of 1 x 109 W/cm2 on a steel sample in air at atmospheric *** Echelle spectrograph coupled with a gateable intensified charge-coupled detector is used to record the plasma *** time-resolved spectroscopic measurements of the plasma emissions,the temperature and electron number density of the steel plasma are determined for many times of the detector *** validity of the assumption by the spectroscopic methods that the laser-induced plasma（LIP） is optically thin and is also in local thermodynamic equilibrium（LTE） has been evaluated for many delay *** the temporal evolution of the intensity ratio of two Fe I lines and matching it with its theoretical value,the delay times where the plasma is optically thin and is also in LTE are found to be 800 ns,900 ns and 1000 ns.

The effect of the addition of small amounts of rare earths （Ln=La, Ce, nd and gd） to alumina supported copper-cobalt spinel oxide on the catalysts efficiency in CO and CH4 oxidation and in NO decomposition was investigated. Samples of Ln/CuCo/AI catalyst were prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS）, atomic absorption spectroscopy （AAS）, scanning electron mieroscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy （SEM-EDS）, H2-temperature-programmed reduc- tion （H2-TPR）, electron paramagnetic resonanee （EPR） spectroscopy and low temperature nitrogen adsorption, The results showed that the addition of rare earths changed the surface state of the alumina supported copper-cobalt spinel catalyst. As a result, partial re- duction of copper species was observed as well as migration of these species between the surface and the bulk. The Ln/CuCo/A1 catalysts behaved differently in oxidation and reduction processes. In oxidation processes where oxide structure was important, Ce/CuCo/A1 and nd/CuCo/A1 were the most active catalysts. The catalyst Ce/CuCo/AI was the most active in the oxidation reactions because of the availability and favorable surface distribution of the redox couples Cu＋/Cu2＋ and Ce3＋/Ce4＋. In NO decompostion, Ln-modified catalysts significantly improved the selectivity of the process to N2.
