Seismicity pattern of the betic Cordillera(southern Spain) derived from the fractal properties of earthquakes and faults

Several studies on earthquake occurrence and associated faulting have demonstrated that both phenomena have a scale-invariant behavior which can be analyzed by means of a set of non-integer dimensions （Dq） describing their fractal properties and the calculation ofmulti-fractal spectra. It is the case that the behavior of these spectra is asymptotic at the ends of the variation interval of q, which is a real number that enters into the definition of the partition function of the dataset. The difference between the extreme values, called multi-fractal spectrum slope, is used to investigate the heterogeneity of the spatial distribution of earthquakes and fault systems. In this paper we focus on the betic Cordillera, southeastern Spain, which is commonly considered the contact between the Eurasian and African plates and has an important seismic activity in the context of the Iberian Peninsula. Some of the most conspicuous Iberian earthquakes, such as the 1829 mb6.3 Torrevieja and the 1884 mb6.1 Alhama de Granada earthquakes occurred in this mountain range and both reached intensity X. The pre- sent work implies a new analysis based on the slope of multi-fractal spectra and referred to the historical seismicity of the re- gion, specifically b-value （frequency distribution of earthquakes respect to magnitude）, epicentral location, seismic energy and faulting. On this basis we propose a seismotectonic zonation that is contrasted with the stress state and the geodynamical evolution of the betic Cordillera.

AIM To determine the variab.lity/conservation of the domain of hepatitis b virus(HbV) pre S1 region that interacts with sodium-taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide(hereafter, NTCP-interacting domain) and the prevalence of the rs2296651 polymorphism(S267 F, NTCP variant) in a Spanish population. METHODS Serum samples from 246 individuals were included and divided into 3 groups: patients with chronic HbV infection(CHb)(n = 41, 73% Caucasians), patients with resolved HbV infection(n = 100, 100% Caucasians) and an HbV-uninfected control group(n = 105, 100% Caucasians). Variab.lity/conservation of the amino acid(aa) sequences of the NTCPinteracting domain,(aa 2-48 in viral genotype D) and a highly conserved pre S1 domain associated with virion morphogenesis(aa 92-103 in viral genotype D) were analyzed by next-generation sequencing and compared in 18 CHb patients with viremia > 4 log IU/ml. The rs2296651 polymorphism was determined in all individuals in all 3 groups using an in-house real-time PCR melting curve *** The HbV pre S1 NTCP-interacting domain showed a high degree of conservation among the examined viral genomes especially between aa 9 and 21(in the genotype D consensus sequence). As compared with the virion morphogenesis domain, the NTCPinteracting domain had a smaller proportion of HbV genotype-unrelated changes comprising > 1% of the quasispecies(25.5% vs 31.8%), but a larger proportion of genotype-associated viral polymorphisms(34% vs 27.3%), according to consensus sequences from Gen bank patterns of HbV genotypes A to H. Variation/conservation in both domains depended on viral genotype, with genotype C being the most highly conserved and genotype E the most variable(limited finding, only 2 genotype E included). Of note, proline residues were highly conserved in both domains, and serine residues showed changes only to threonine or tyrosine in the virion morphogenesis domain. The concept of the field of value to localize the spectrum of the iteration matrices of the skew-symmetric iterative methods is further exploited. Obtained formulas are derived to relate the fields of values of the original matrix and the iteration matrix. This allows us to determine theoretically that indefinite nonsymmetric linear systems can be solved by this class of iterative methods.

Structure modification and recovery of amorphous Fe_(73.5)Si_(13.5)b_9Nb_3Cu_1 magnetic ribbons after autoclave treatment:SAXS and thermodynamic analysis

The structure, crystallization kinetics and magnetic property of as-quenched Fe_(73.5)Si_(13.5)b_9Nb_3Cu_1 amorphous ribbon(R0) as well as ribbons after autoclave treatment at 100°C and 150°C(R1 and R2) have been systematically studied by various techniques. With increasing autoclave treatment temperature,the measured structural, kinetic and magnetic parameters of samples increase firstly, i.e. R0 le, i.e. R2 lts indicate that the SROs in R1 samples increased by transforming from fcc to bcc structure during the autoclave treatment and that the autoclave treatment can decrease the large radius(r_M) MRO(medium range order),but increase the small rMMRO. The measured structural, thermal and magnetic parameters of R2 sample have a tendency to recover toward as-quenched R0 sample. The thermal and magnetic parameters of samples after solely annealing treatment at higher temperature have no obvious recover *** uneven actions of pressure and temperature in autoclave treatment may be helpful for us to search a new method to improve the magnetic properties of Fe-based glasses.

Repercussion of Hall effect and nonlinear radiation on Couette-Poiseuille flow of Casson-Williamson fluid through upright microchannel

The main aim of the present work is to investigate the flow and heat transport properties of non-Newtonian Casson-Williamson fluid through an upright microchannel along with entropy generation analysis,and explore the effects of convective boundary conditions,Couette-Poiseuille flow,and nonlinear *** movement of liquid is scrutinized with the Hall effect and exponential heat *** rheological characteristics of the Casson-Williamson fluid model are also *** considering the desirable similarity variables,the equations of motion are reduced to nonlinear ordinary differential *** Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fourth-fifth order method along with the shooting method is adopted to solve these dimensionless *** detailed investigation is pictorially displayed to show the influence of effective parameters on the entropy generation and the bejan *** of the major tasks of the exploration is to compare the Casson fluid and the Williamson *** results show that the rate of heat transfer in the Casson fluid is more remarkable than that in the Williamson fluid.
