A developmental research has been carried out to deal with the high performance of Cu-Cr-Zr-Mg lead frame alloy by artificial neural network (ANN). Using the cold working to assist in the aging hardening can improve the the hardness and electrical conductivity properties of Cu-Cr-Zr-Mg lead frame alloy. This paper studies the effect of different extent of cold working on the aging properties by a supervised ANN to model the non-linear relationship between processing parameters and the properties. The back-propagation (bP) training algorithm is improved by Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. A basic repository on the domain knowledge of cold worked aging processes is established via sufficient data mining by the network. The predicted values of the ANN coincide well with the tested data. So an important foundation has been laid for prediction and optimum controlling the rolling and aging properties of Cu-Cr-Zr-Mg alloy.

Objective:To assess the prevalence of malaria parasitemia in north-east Nigeria and to evaluate the measures for the prevention of ***:A village in north-eastern Nigeria was selected for the cross sectional study at the height of the rainy season in October 2011.A total of 550 inhabitants of a hamlet were recruited for this *** obtaining the consent individuals received a structured interview and were tested for malaria parasites in their blood *** testing positive for malaria were given a course of artemesinin-based combination therapy（ACT）.Results:A total of 497 inhabitants representing approximately 90 percent of the population participated:a quarter of the study group carried malaria parasitesexclusively Plasmodium falciparum（***）-representing a *** parasite rate（PfPR） of 24.5%.besides,53/138 in the age group of 2 to g a PfPR2-10 value of 38.4%.Malaria control measures were used in just under a third（157/497） of this *** these measures 28/157（17.8%） still tested positive for ***:The malaria burden is overestimated for this region in north-east *** findings support an intermediate pattern of malaria *** 30%bed nets coverage for malaria control is well below the WHO estimates for 2011.

In this paper,part of the research and development work in the field of spray formed superalloys at bIAM of China is briefly summarized. With an experimental spray forming facility,whose melting capacity is suitable for making disk and columnar shaped integral-dense and clean Ni-base superalloy preforms with low oxygen content,fine grain, uniform chemistry and improved forgeability, a series of Ni-base superalloys have been spray atomized and deposited, among which three alloys have been chosen for microstructural and mechanical properties evaluation.

based on the study of oxygen isotope and mi-croparticle in the guliya ice core, atmospheric dust and en-vironmental changes in the northwest Tibetan Plateau since the last interglacial were revealed. The microparticle record indicates that low dust load on the Plateau in the interglacial. Particle concentration increased rapidly when the climate turned into the last glacial and reached the maximum during the MIS 4. In the Last glacial Maximum, however, the en-hancement of microparticle concentration was slight, differ-ing to those in the Antarctic and greenland. On the orbital timescale, both the temperature on the Tibetan Plateau and summer solar insolation in the Northern Hemisphere had their impact on the microparticle record, but the difference in phase and amplitude also existed. Though having the same dust source, microparticle records in the ice cores on the Tibetan Plateau and the greenland seem to have different significance.

AIM: To determine if anesthesiologist-monitored useof propofol results in improved detection of adenomaswhen compared with routine conscious sedation. METHODS: This retrospective study was conductedat two separate hospital-based endoscopy units whereapproximately 12 000 endoscopic procedures are permed annually, with one endoscopy unit exclusivelyusing anesthesiologist-monitored propofol. Three thousand two hundred and fifty-two patients underwent initial screening or surveillance colonoscopies. Our primaryend point was the adenoma detection rate, def ined asthe number of patients in whom at least one adenomawas found, associated with the type of sedation. RESULTS: Three thousand two hundred and fi ftytwooutpatient colonoscopies were performed by fi ve selected endoscopists. At least one adenoma was detected in 27.6% of patients (95% CI = 26.0-29.1) with no difference in the detection rate between the anesthes-ologist propofol and group and the gastroenterologist-midazolam/fentanyl group (28.1% vs 27.1%, P = 0.53). CONCLUSION: The type of sedation used during colonoscopy does not affect the number of patients in whom adenomatous polyps are detected.

AIM: To investigate the contribution of variants of CARD15, OCTN1/2 and DLg5 genes in disease predispo- sition and phenotypes in a large Italian cohort of pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IbD). METHODS: Two hundred patients with Crohn’s disease (CD), 186 ulcerative colitis (UC) patients, 434 par- ents (217 trios), and 347 healthy controls (HC) were studied. Polymorphisms of the three major variants of CARD15, 1672C/T and -207g/C SNPs for OCTN genes, IgR2096a_1 and IgR2198a_1 SNPs for the IbD5 locus, and 113g/A variant of the DLg5 gene were evaluated. Potential correlations with clinical sub-phenotypes were investigated. RESULTS: Polymorphisms of CARD15 were significantly associated with CD, and at least one variant was found in 38% of patients (15% in HC, OR = 2.7, P gosis for both OCTN1/2 variants was more com- mon in CD patients (1672TT 24%, -207CC 29%) than in HC (16% and 21%, respectively; P = 0.03), with an in- creased frequency of the TC haplotype (44.8% vs 38.3% in HC, P = 0.04). No association with the DLg5 variant was found. CD carriers of OCTN1/2 and DLg5 variants more frequently had penetrating disease (P = 0.04 and P = 0.01), while carriers of CARD15 more frequently had ileal localization (P = 0.03). No gene-gene interaction was found. In UC patients, the TC haplotype was morefrequent (45.4%, P = 0.03), but no genotype/phenotype correlation was observed. CONCLUSION: Polymorphisms of CARD15 and OCTN genes, but not DLg5 are associated with pediatric on- set of CD. Polymorphisms of CARD15, OCTN, and DLg5 genes exert a weak influence on CD phenotype.

Successful escape from immune response characterises chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, which results in persistence of infection in about 80% of the patients. The deleterious consequences are cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. HCV accounts the most frequent cause for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and liver transplantation (LT) in the western world. The underlying molecular mechanisms how HCV promotes tumor development are largely unknown. There is some in vitro and in vivo evidence that HCV interferes with the tumor suppressor PML and may thereby importantly contribute to the HCV-associated pathogenesis with respect to the development of HCC. The tumor suppressor protein “promyelocytic leukemia” (PML) has been implicated in the regulation of important cellular processes like differentiation and apoptosis. In cancer biology, PML and its associated nuclear bodies (Nbs) have initially attracted intense interest due to its role in the pathogenesis of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). More recently, loss of PML has been implicated in human cancers of various histologic origins. Moreover, number and intensity of PML-Nbs increase in response to interferons (IFNs) and there is evidence that PML-Nbs may represent preferential targets in viral infections. Thus, PML could not only play a role in the mechanisms of the antiviral action of IFNs but may also be involved in a direct oncogenic effect of the HCV on hepatocytes. This review aims to summarise current knowledge about HCV-related liver carcinogenesis and to discuss a potential role of the nuclear body protein PML for this this hard-to-treat cancer.
