Natural surfaces with super hydrophobic properties often have micro or hierarchical *** this paper, the wettingbehaviours of a single droplet on biomimetic micro structured surfaces with different roughness parameters are *** model is proposed to study wetting *** results of theoretical analysis are compared with those of experimentindicating that the proposed model can effectively predict the wetting ***, a numerical simulationbased on the meso scale Lattice boltzmann Method （LbM） is performed to study dynamic contact angles, contact lines, andlocal velocity fields for the case that a droplet displays on the micro structured surface.A spherical water droplet with r= 15 μmfalls down to a biomimetic square-post patterned surface under the force of gravity with an initial velocity of 0.01 m·sand aninitial vertical distance of 20 μm from droplet centre to the top of *** spite of a higher initial velocity, the droplet can stillstay in a Cassie state; moreover, it reaches an equilibrium state at t≈17.5 ms, when contact angle is 153.16° which is slightlylower than the prediction of Cassie-baxter’s equation which gives θ=154.40°.

Plasma ion implantation, an alternative to conventional beam-line ion implantation, is a sheath-acceleration ionbombardment technique and the initial sheath is crucial to the process efficacy and surface properties. The initialspatial potential distribution in the plasma sheath around a trench-shaped target is simulated using a two-dimensionalmodel in this work. The results demonstrate that the sheath structure depends very much on the trench width. Thepotential drop in the trench may be quite small and the sheath expands outward if the width is small. This leadsto a smaller incident ion dose into the sidewalls of the trench. In contrast, the initial potential distribution in thecentral region is quite similar to that without a trench if the trench width is larger than twice the ion-matrix sheaththickness for an infinite plane. Consequently, a higher ion dose into the sidewalls is possible.

We demonstrate a pulsed ring erbium-doped fiber laser based on graphene oxide(GO),employing a simplified Hummer's method to synthesize the GO via chemical oxidation of graphite flakes at room *** dipping a fiber ferrule end face onto the GO suspension,GO is successfully coated onto the end face,making it a simple saturable absorption device.A stable Q-switched pulsed fiber laser is achieved with a low pump threshold of 9.5 mW at 980 *** pulse repetition rate ranges from 16.0 to 57.0 *** pulse width and the pulse energy are studied and discussed.

Hydrogen is a generally abundant, safe, clean and environmentally apt alternative fuel, which replenishes the void generated by depleting fossil fuel reserves. The adoption of hydrogen as an energy source has been restricted to low levels due to the complications associated with its viable storage and usage. Existing technologies, such as storage of hydrogen in compressed and liquefied forms are not adequate to meet the broad on-board applications. The gravimetric energy density(120 MJ/kg) of hydrogen is three times higher than that of gasoline products, so solid-state hydrogen storage is ***-organic frameworks(MOFs), multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs) and graphene are solid adsorbents majorly employed for efficient H_2 storage. The prominent features of MOFs such as permanent porosity, structural rigidity, and surface area are attractive and ideal for hydrogen storage. In addition,nanostructured carbon materials(MWCNTs and graphene) and their composites have demonstrated significant hydrogen storage capacities. Some important parameters for the success of the hydrogen economy include high storage density, adsorption/desorption temperature and cycling time. Cryo-hydrogen storage was achieved in MOFs and their composites with carbon structures, but storage at ambient temperature and acceptable pressures is a major hurdle. This review discusses various strategies and mechanisms in the design of adsorbents explored to improve H_2 storage capacities and afford opportunities to develop new sustainable hydrogen technologies to meet energy targets.

A six-parameter mathematical model was introduced to simulate the stress-strain hysteresis and the sinner hysteresis of polycrystalline shape memory alloys (SMAs). by the comparison with experiments of Cu-Zn-Al SMA, it was shown that the model could be used to calculate the stress-strain relations with rather good accuracy. Moreover, it was found that the six parameters introduced in this paper represented the characteristics of the stress-strain hysteresis of polycrystalline SMAs and could be used to characterize the hysteresis quantitatively.

background:Hepato-pancreatico-biliary(HPb)patients experience significant risk of preoperative *** assessing preventative prehabilitation in HPb populations are *** systematic review and meta-analysis evaluates outcomes for HPb patients treated with exercise *** sources:A comprehensive search of MEDLINE(via Ovid),Embase(Ovid),Scopus,Web of Science Core Collection,Cochrane Library(Wiley),Pro Quest Dissertations,Theses Global,and Google Scholar was conducted with review and extraction following PRISMA *** studies evaluated more than 5 adult HPb patients undergoing≥7-day exercise *** primary outcome was postoperative length of stay(LOS);secondary outcomes included complications,mortality,physical performance,and quality of ***:We evaluated 1778 titles and abstracts and selected 6(randomized controlled trial,n=3;prospective cohort,n=1;retrospective cohort,n=2)that included 957 *** those,536 patients(56.0%)underwent exercise prehabilitation and 421(44.0%)received standard *** in both groups were similar with regards to important demographic *** was associated with a 5.20-day LOS reduction(P=0.03);when outliers were removed,LOS reduction decreased to 1.85 days and was non-statistically significant(P=0.34).Postoperative complications(OR=0.70;95%CI:0.39 to 1.26;P=0.23),major complications(OR=0.83;95%CI:0.60 to 1.14;P=0.24),and mortality(OR=0.67;95%CI:0.17 to 2.70;P=0.57)were *** was associated with improved strength,cardiopulmonary function,quality of life,and alleviated ***:Exercise prehabilitation may reduce LOS and morbidity following HPb *** with well-defined exercise regimens are needed to optimize exercise prehabilitation outcomes.

Effect of microstructures on superplasticity of Al-11%Si alloy

Three kinds of Al-11%Si (mass fraction) alloy samples with different processes were produced to investigate the effect of microstructures on its superplasticity. Among them, the as-ECAP sample pressed 16 passes has ultrafine grains (300 nm) and the finest secondary particles. The ECAP-T6 sample, with ECAP 16 passes followed by T6 treatment, has fine secondary particles (3 μm) but the largest grains (8 μm). Contrarily, the T6-ECAP sample, with T6 treatment followed by ECAP 16 passes, has ultrafine grains and the large secondary particles (7 μm). The tensile testing results show that the as-ECAP sample exhibits superplasticity at high strain rate of 5.75×10-1 s-1 due to its fine secondary particles and ultrafine grains. The ECAP-T6 sample, however, does not exhibit superplasticity at the same high strain rate of 5.75×10-1 s-1 because it has relatively large secondary particles and large grains. Remarkably, the T6-ECAP sample does not have superplasticity even at the lower strain rate of 1.15×10-1 s-1, attributing to its comparatively large secondary particles. When most secondary particles are larger than 7 μm, the high strain rate superplasticity could not be obtained even if this sample has ultrafine grains.
