Ewing's sarcoma (ES) is a neoplasm of undifferentiated small round cells, which occurs in the bones and deep soft tissues of children and adolescents. We present a rare case of a 44-year-old woman with gastric ES presenting with epigastric pain and weight loss. Ultrasound and computed tomography scans indicated a solid/cystic mass in the pancreatic tail. At laparotomy, the tumor was found attached to the posterior surface of the stomach, completely free from the pancreas, with no lymphadenopathy or local metastases. The polynodal, partly pseudocystic, dark-red soft tumor was excised. Histopathology revealed an anaplastic small-round-cell tumor with strong membranous CD99 immunoexpression. Additionally, there was patchy immunostaining for S-100 protein, vimentin, protein gene product (PGP) 9.5 and neuron-specifi c enolase, and weak focal CD117 cytoplasmic immunoreactivity. The patient had no adjuvant chemotherapy; her postoperative recovery was uneventful, and she remains symptom-free, and without any sign of recurrence at 20 mo. To the best of our knowledge, this is only the third ever case of gastric ES.

Plant-derived bEC with its main component solamargine possesses anticancer activities via its effect on a variety of biological pathways in a wide range of human cancer cells. High cure rates with bEC therapy have been obtained in animals with deadly cancers, and, in humans with terminal cancers promising results have been reported. At a clinical level, optimal concentrations of bEC have been established in a topical cream formulation Curaderm, for effective removal of skin cancers, but optimal concentrations of bEC have not been reported for other cancers. The objective of this study was to determine whether combination therapy of Cisplatin with bEC would result in synergism using cure rates as end points. bEC on its own cures Sarcoma 180 in mice, whereas, Cisplatin on its own has no effect on Sarcoma 180 activity. A combination of bEC and Cisplatin shows synergism, resulting in higher cure rates than bEC and Cisplatin at comparable individual concentrations.

Improving structures involves comparing old and new designs on a key *** the percent change in performance is a method to *** paper proposes a cost-effective analogy by generating replicas of additive manufactured aluminum alloy(Al Si10Mg)body-centered cubic lattice(bCC)based turbine blade(T106C)with the same in poly-lactic acid(PLA)material and their comparison in the context of percent change for natural ***,a cavity is created inside the turbine blade(hollow blade).Natural frequencies are obtained experimentally and numerically by incorporating bCC at 50%and 80%of the cavity length into the hollow blade for both *** cost of manufacturing the metal blades is 90%more than that of the PLA *** two material blade designs show a similar percentage variation,as the first-order mode enhancs more than 5%and the second-order mode more than 4%.To observe the behavior in another material,both blades are analyzed numerically with a nickel-based U-500 material,and the same result is achieved,describing that percent change between designs can be verified using the PLA material.

A convenient synthesis of quino[2,3-b] [ 1,5]benzoxazepines from substituted 2-chloroquinoline-3-carbaldehyde and 2-hydroxy- aniline by using stable, non-toxic and inexpensive catalyst 1,8-diazabicyclo-undecan-7-ene （DbU）/silica gel is described. This method affords the quino[2,3-b][1,5]benzoxazepines under the influence of microwave irradiation （360 W） in solvent-free conditions within short reaction times （2-3 min）, giving high yields of products （93-96%）.

As more electric utilities and transmission system operators move toward the smart grid concept,robust fault analysis has become increasingly *** paper proposes a methodology for the detection,classification,and localization of transmission line faults using Synchrophasor *** technique involves the extraction of phasors from the instantaneous three-phase voltages and currents at each bus in the system which are then decomposed into their symmetrical *** components are sent to the phasor data concentrator(PDC)for real-time fault analysis,which is completed within 2–3 cycles after fault *** advantages of this technique are its accuracy and speed,so that fault information may be appropriately communicated to facilitate system *** proposed algorithm is independent of the transmission system topology and displays high accuracy in its results,even with varying parameters such as fault distance,fault inception angle and fault *** proposed algorithm is validated using a three-bus system as well as the Western System Coordinating Council(WSCC)nine bus *** proposed algorithm is shown to accurately detect the faulted line and classify the fault in all the test cases presented.

Aim: To detect the most common musculoskeletal disorders and to explore the common injury and indication of different musculoskeletal systems, and then to obtain the causes of disorders by observing clinical indications via images. Methodology: The subjects in this project consisted of both genders—males and females and were investigated randomly by collecting data from the PACS unit that exists in the radiology department at KAUH. The participants had a mean age of 7.4 ± 0.3 years, a mean height of 118.2 ± 2.5 cm, a mean mass of 27.8 ± 1.5 kg, and a mean bMI of 19.6 ± 0.8 kg/m2. The author settled the study plan by building a special, appropriate questionnaire to be handed out to the patients and covered mainly the prospective studies of randomly selected patients who came to the emergency unit and the outpatient units from other departments at KAUH in Jeddah. Results: The ratio of injuries in male children (77%) against females (23%) is 3:1, and this ratio is considered significant between age groups for males when compared with females. The injuries existed most in the age groups of 4 to 6 years old and 8 to 10 years old with approximately the same percentage of the total subjects as about 21% for each age group. Trauma injury was significant (81%) compared to other types of causes in all age groups. There was a significant relationship between the causes of injuries and the age groups in pediatrics (p 0.05) between the site of injuries and age groups. The significant site that resulted from trauma was the knee (100%), out of the total traumas’ subject. There was a highly significant relationship between the site of injuries and its causes (p = 0.006, i.e. p by providing them with more learning courses.

MgNi-based hydrogen storage alloys Mg1–xTixNi （x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3） were prepared by means of mechanical alloying. Mg in the alloy was partially substituted by Ti to improve the cycle stability of the alloys. The effects of the substitution of Ti for Mg on the microstructure and electrochemical performances of the alloys were investigated in detail. The results indicate that the substitution of Ti for Mg obviously decreases the discharge capacity, but it significantly improves their cycle stabilities. The microstructure of the alloys analyzed by X-ray diffraction （XRD） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM） shows that the alloys have a dominatingly amorphous structure. The substitution of Ti for Mg helps to improve the anti-oxidation/corrosion ability of the MgNi alloy but demolishes the electrochemical kinetics of hydrogenation/dehydrogenation. The Mg0.9Ti0.1Ni alloy electrode milled for 80 h exhibits the best integrative capability, which has the maximal discharge capacity of 331.66 mAh/g and the C30/Cmax of 63.65%.
