Dear Editor,Hepatitis b virus(HbV)is a hepatotropic virus that can establish a persistent and chronic infection in *** hepatitis b(CHb)infection is associated with an increased risk of hepatic decompensation,cirrhosis,and hepatocellular carcinoma.1 Emerging studies show that lactate,an end product of anaerobic glycolysis,has an important role in metabolism beyond energy production and is also a regulator of the tumor microenvironment(TME)and immune cell function.2 It is noteworthy that lactate levels have been associated with mortality in patients,and large HbV surface proteins(LHbs)have been shown to reduce Pyruvate kinase M2(PKM2)activity and thereby increase overall glucose consumption and lactate production in hepatocytes.

The synthesis and characterization of two new aluminate（Ⅲ） complexes with general formula K[AlCl3X] are reported. These compounds derived from aluminate trichloride and related salts. Potassium trichlorothiocyanoaluminate, PCTA, and potassium trichlorocyanatoalu-minate, PCCA, are two new ionic aluminate complexes. They can be easily synthesized in a nearly quantitative yield by using the direct reaction of AlCl3 and KX. The complexes were characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. Theoretical calculations have been used for the extraction of structural and spectroscopic data of these new synthesized complexes. The antibacterial activities of such compounds were studied against the Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus Epidermidis, Estreptococo b and Shigella.

We search for a possible relationship between weak gravity conjecture(WGC)and conformal field theory(CFT)in hyperscaling violating and Kerr-Newman-AdS black *** deal with the critical points of the black hole systems using the correlation function introduced in CFT and discuss WGC conditions using the imaginary part of the energy obtained from the critical points and their *** the assumptions z=1,d=1,andθ→0-,we link WGC to hyperscaling violating black holes owing to the existence of rHvalues larger and smaller than *** the second black hole system,we study the conditions of WGC for Kerr-Newman-AdS black holes using rotation and radius ***,we show that the conditions of WGC are satisfied when the charged particle near the hyperscaling violating and Kerr-Newman black holes is 1/a with a ratio a/l《1.

The Astara Fault System（AFS） is located in the northwest Alborz, east of Talesh Mountain（TM） and west of the South Caspian basin（SCb）. The AFS is one of the basement rock faults in Iran that is heavily involved in seismotectonic activity of the Talesh region, and to which subsidence of the SCb is attributed. There is little information available concerning previous AFS seismic activities and its properties. In order to elucidate the seismic behavior and activities of the AFS, we conducted a research study on paleoseismology of the fault. based on paleoseismic evidence, two scenarios could be taken into consideration, one of which has three and another has four seismic events with magnitudes Mw in the range of 6.7 to 7.2. Evidence of these seismic events is within sedimentary succession as they have occurred during the past 3 ka（this age is determined based on the deposition rate of the region）. Six carbon samples were taken for C^14 age determination tests, the results of which clearly demonstrated that the EvIV（scenario A） and EvⅢ（scenario b） had occurred before 27,444 cal bP, while other events occurred in the time period between 27,444 cal bP and 3 ka ago. If we consider the occurrence of three or four seismic events（based on the two scenarios） to be between 27,444 cal bP and 3 ka ago, the average recurrence interval is 7,119 ± 1,017, but evidence for these events has been removed. If we assume EvI to be the youngest event（in both scenarios）, the minimum elapsed time is therefore 3 ka.

Differential reactivity of mouse monoclonal anti-Hbs antibodies with recombinant mutant Hbs antigens

AIM: To investigate the reactivity of a panel of 8 mouse anti-hepatitis b surface antigen (HbsAg) monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) using a collection of 9 recombinant HbsAg mutants with a variety of amino acid substitutions mostly located within the “a” ***: The entire Hbs genes previously cloned into a mammalian expression vector were transiently transfected into COS7 cells. Two standard unmutated sequences of the ayw and adw subtypes served as controls. Secreted mutant proteins were collected and measured by three commercial diagnostic immunoassays to assess transfection efficiency. Reactivity of anti-Hbs mAbs with mutated HbsAgs was determined by sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).RESULTS: Reactivity of anti-Hbs mAbs with mutated HbsAgs revealed different patterns. While three mutants reacted strongly with all mAbs, two mutants reacted weakly with only two mAbs and the remaining proteins displayed variable degrees of reactivity towards different mAbs. Accordingly, four groups of mAbs with different but overlapping reactivity patterns could be envisaged. One group consisting of two mAbs (37C5-S7 and 35C6-S11) was found to recognize stable linear epitopes conserved in all mutants. Mutations outside the “a” determinant at positions 120 (P→S), 123(T→N) and 161(M→T) were found to affect reactivity of these ***: Our findings could have important implications for biophysical studies, vaccination strategies and immunotherapy of hepatitis b virus (HbV) mutants.

Objective:To determine the prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections among mentally retarded residents of rehabilitation center of bandar Abbas,Hormozgan province,southern ***:A cross-sectional study was carried out in central rehabilitation institute of Hormozgan province in summer *** samples of all 133 residents(72 males,61 females)aged 3-52,were collected in *** were examined by direct smear,formalin-ether concentration techniques and stained by permanent Trichrome,Ziehl-Neelsen *** analysis was conducted by SPSS ***:Intestinal parasitic infections were seen in 48.5%(64 out of 133 subjects:53.4%in males and 46.6%in females).Strongyloides stercoralis with17.3%showed the highest incidence followed by Entamoeba coli(9.8%),blastocystis hominis(7.5%),Giardia lamblia(2.3%),Endolimax nana(2.3%),Hymenolepis nana(0.8%),Oxyuris vermicularis(0.8%),and Chilomasix mesnili(0.8%).Double infections were found to be as:Strongyloides stercoralis+Giardia lamblia(2.3%),Entamoeba coli+Giardia lamblia(1.5%),Entamoeba coli+blastocystis hominis(1.5%),Oxyuris vermicularis+Entamoeba coli(0.8%),Strongyloides stercoralis+Entamoeba coli(0.8%),***:Our findings reveal that strongyloidiasis is a common disease among mentally retarded population in southern Iran.
