Thin cylindrical shell structures have wide variety of applications due to their favorable stiffness-to-mass ratio and under axial compressive loading,these shell structures fail by their buckling ***,their load carrying capacity is decided by its buckling strength which in turn predominantly depends on the geometrical imperfections present on the shell *** main aim of the present study is to determine the more influential geometrical parameter out of two geometrical imperfection parameters namely,“the extent of imperfection present over a surface area”and its“amplitude”.To account for these geometrical parameters simultaneously,the imperfection pattern is assumed as a dent having the shape of extent of surface area as a nearly *** side length of extent of surface area can be considered as proportional to extent of imperfection present over an area and the dent depth can be considered as proportional to amplitude of *** the present numerical study,FE models of thin short carbon steel perfect cylindrical shells with different sizes of dent are generated at 1/3rd and half the height of cylindrical shells and analyzed using ANSYS nonlinear FE buckling analysis.

Submarine pressure hulls,fire-tube boilers,vacuum tanks,oil well casings,submersibles,underground pipelines,tunnels,rocket motor casing,etc.,are some of the examples of thin cylindrical shell structures which collapse due to buckling under uniform *** enhance the buckling strength of bare cylin-drical shells,one of the best solutions is to stiffen them with ring *** this work in order to predict the shell instability failure mode(SIFM)and general instability failure mode(GIFM)FE models are generated and analysed using buckling analysis of general-purpose FE software *** numeri-cal results obtained using FE analysis are compared with published analytical and experimental *** in the present study effort s are taken to develop FE models to predict global and shell instability failure modes of externally ring stiffened cylindrical shells by using linear FE *** is proposed to use full/half bare cylindrical shell FE models(L/R ratio upto 200)to determine SIFM and FE models with shell281-beam189(for stiffeners)can be used to determine *** developed FE models are vali-dated by comparing numerical results with experimental results published by Seleim and Roorda[25].by using both proposed FE models it is possible to predict the failure modes namely SIFM and GIFM,comparing their values of critical buckling *** lower pressure value can indicate the possible failure mode.

筒形壳体通常有非理想圆截面、非理想圆柱体、凹陷、鼓起等几何形状的缺陷。这些几何缺陷将导致筒形薄壳屈曲强度的降低。本文只考虑短筒形壳体(Lc/Rc≈1,Rc/t=117,175,280)的凹陷缺陷对其强度的影响。通过改变壳体上半高处凹陷的不同倾斜角度和长度,研究此类壳体的静力非线性屈曲问题。研究表明,虽然短或长凹陷都会显著降低筒形壳体的静力屈曲强度,但是当凹陷比较短时,凹陷的面积和凹入的角度对圆柱形薄壳的屈曲强度没有太大的影响;当凹陷比较长时,凹陷的面积和凹入的角度对圆柱形薄壳的屈曲强度有显著影响。在凹陷尺寸和位置都不变的情况下,圆柱形薄壳越厚,其屈曲强度降低越大。

In this paper, the effect of adding an antiox- idant mixture in Jatropha biodiesel as fuel, in a single cylinder, direct injection compression ignition engine was experimentally investigated and the level of pollutants in the exhaust and performance characteristics of the engine were analyzed. Nine test fuels were prepared with three antioxidants, namely, Suecinimide （C4H5NO2）, N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine-dihydrochloride （C8H14C12N2）, and N-phenyl-p-phenylenediamine （C6H5NHC6H4NH2） added to neat biodiesel at 500 parts per million （ppm）, 1000ppm and 2000ppm and the observed experimental results were compared with those of neat biodiese! and neat diesel as base fuels. The comparison showed that NO emission was reduced drastically for the test fuels with the antioxidant addition of 2000ppm. The maximum reduction of 10% of NO emission was observed for the antioxidant mixture in neat biodiesel, with a slight increase in unburned HC, CO and smoke opacity. In addition, the obtained experimental results reveal that the addition of two antioxidants as mixture in neat biodiesel caused improved NO emission reduction for all test fuels.

Ad hoc mobile cloud computing networks are affected by various issues,like delay,energy consumption,flexibility,infrastructure,network lifetime,security,stability,data transition,and link *** the issues above,route failure is prevalent in ad hoc mobile cloud computing networks,which increases energy consumption and delay and reduces *** issues may affect several interconnected nodes in an ad hoc mobile cloud computing *** address these weaknesses,which raise many concerns about privacy and security,this study formulated clustering-based storage and search optimization approaches using cross-layer *** proposed approaches were formed by cross-layer analysis based on intrusion detection ***,the clustering process based on storage and search optimization was formulated for clustering and route maintenance in ad hoc mobile cloud computing ***,delay,energy consumption,network lifetime,and link accomplishment are highly addressed by the proposed *** hidden Markov model is used to maintain the data transition and distributions in the *** data communication network,like ad hoc mobile cloud computing,faces security and confidentiality ***,the main security issues in this article are addressed using the storage and search optimization ***,the new algorithm developed helps detect intruders through intelligent cross layer analysis with theMarkov *** proposed model was simulated in Network Simulator 3,and the outcomes were compared with those of prevailing methods for evaluating parameters,like accuracy,end-to-end delay,energy consumption,network lifetime,packet delivery ratio,and throughput.

Objective:To investigate the effect of aqueous solution of biophytum sensUiuum leaf extract(bSEt)on normal and strcptozotocin(STZ)-nicotinamide-induced diabetic ***:Diabetes was induced in adult male Wislar rata by the administration of STZ-nicotinamide(40,110 mg/kg b.w.,respectively)***(200 mg/kg)was administered to diabetic rats for 28 *** effect of extract on blood glucose,plasma insulin,total haemoglobin,glycosylated haemoglobin,liver glycogen and carbohydrate melatxilism regulating enzymes of liver was studied in diabetic ***:bSEt significantly reduced the blood glucose and glycosylated haemoglobin levels and significantly increased the total haemoglobin,plasma insulin and liver glycogen levels in diabetic *** also increased the hexokinase activity and decreased glucose-6-phosphatase,fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase activities in diabetic ***:The results of our study suggest that bSEt possesses a promising effecl on STZ-nicotinamide-induced diabetes.

Schwannomas—Atypical Presentation and Challenges

Introduction: Neurogenic tumors include schwannomas and neurofibro-mas. They occur often in the head and neck. However, their occurrence on the vagus is uncommon. A high index of suspicion is needed to order imaging in pelvic lesions that present atypically. Discussion: Schwannomas are hypointense on T1 and heterogeneously hyperintense on T2 on MRI. The histopathological appearance with Antoni type A and type b is typical of Schwannoma. Conclusion: Schwannomas are slow growing benign tumors that are separable from the parent nerve. Recurrence is uncommon after resection.
