Effect of Pesticides on Growth of Rhizobia and Their Host Plants During Symbiosis

Effect of various pesticides (insecticides, fungicides and herbicides) has been studied on growth and efficiency of symbiotic properties of 3 fast growing Rhizobium sp. under green house conditions. The results revealed adverse effects on plant growth and nitrogen fixing capacity as measured by dry weight and total nitrogen content of plants infected with pesticide treated Rhizobium. Of the pesticides tested, herbicides were found to be more effective on the above parameters than the insecticides and fungicides.

Machine learning(ML)has emerged as a significant tool in the field of biorefinery,offering the capability to analyze and predict complex processes with *** article reviews the current state of biorefinery and its classification,highlighting various commercially successful ***,we delve into different categories of ML models,including their algorithms and applications in various stages of biorefinery lifecycle,such as biomass characterization,pretreatment,lignin valorization,chemical,thermochemical and biochemical conversion processes,supply chain analysis,and life cycle *** benefits and limitations of each of these algorithms are discussed in ***,the article concludes with a discussion of the limitations and future prospects of ML in the field of biorefineries.

Efficient Realization of Vinculum Vedic bCD Multipliers for High Speed Applications

Decimal multipliers play an important role in our day to day life for commercial, financial and tax applications. Every processor multiplier acts as the basic building block which decides the performance of processor. Time and again research is going on to design high-performance, low-latency bCD multiplier architectures. This paper proposes a new approach to bCD multiplication using vinculum number system. The key feature of the proposed architecture uses entirely a new one digit ROM based bCD multiplier that uses vinculum numbers as operands. Using this one digit bCD multiplier, an N digit bCD multiplier is built by using the vedic vertical cross wire method (Urdhav Triyagbhyam). We have also used our proposed multi operand VbCD Adder (Vinculum bCD Adder) [my paper 26] to add the partial products. In this paper, we show that this approach is a promising alternative to conventional bCD multiplication or other decimal multiplication methods that use alternative decimal representations like 5211, 4221, Xs3 etc.

Concurrent Nimotuzumab with Radiation Therapy in Locally Advanced Cancers of Oropharynx and Hypopharynx: A Review of 6 Cases

background: The prevalence of head and neck cancers in the world is around 57% and predominantly occurs in Asian countries. It accounts for 30% of all cancers in India. The cure rate of locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN) has only 30% - 60% even after combined therapeutic approaches. Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) antagonists are the most researched targets in the management of head and neck cancers. Claims at superior tumor control and additional survival benefit without any added toxicity make it an attractive option. With this case series we intend to see how nimotuzumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody, fares in difficult cases of head and neck cancers. Case Description: In this case series, total six patients of locally advanced cancer of head and neck region were treated weekly using cisplatin and nimotuzumab concurrently with radiation therapy (RT) for 6 - 7 weeks. Depending upon the disease stage as well as the general condition of the patient, different dose cycles and radiation doses were tailored. Patients were monitored for regular physical examinations and hematological tests followed by pre and post treatment computed tomography (CT) scans, Fludeoxyglucose positive emission tomography (FDG PET-CT) scans, and histopathology. All patients were assessed for toxicities and managed consequently. After completion of radiation and follow-up, 6 weeks later post treatment CT scans were carried out. Conclusion: This case series shows that combination of chemoradiation with nimotuzumab achieved good response rates with no evidence of residual disease/disease progression on follow-up. The patients’ tolerability with combination therapy was good and toxicity was acceptable. Nimotuzumab was found beneficial in combination with chemoradiation for locally advanced head and neck cancers.
