The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

The discovery of chirped pulse amplification has led to great improvements in laser technology,enabling energetic laser beams to be compressed to pulse durations of tens of femtoseconds and focused to a few *** with energies of tens of meV can be accelerated using,for instance,target normal sheath acceleration and focused on secondary *** such conditions,nuclear reactions can occur,with the production of radioisotopes suitable for medical *** use of high-repetition lasers to produce such isotopes is competitive with conventional methods mostly based on *** this paper,we study the production of^(67)Cu,^(63)Zn,^(18)F,and^(11)C,which are currently used in positron emission tomography and other *** the same time,we study the reactions^(10)b(p,α)^(7)be and^(70)Zn(p,4n)^(67)Ga to put further constraints on the proton distributions at different angles,as well as the reaction^(11)b(p,α)^(8)be relevant for energy *** experiment was performed at the 1 Pw laser facility at VegaⅢin Salamanca,*** distributions of radioisotopes in the forward(with respect to the laser direction)and backward directions were measured using a high purity germanium *** results are in reasonable agreement with numerical estimates obtained following the approach of Kimura and bonasera[*** ***.,Sect.A 637,164–170(2011)].

Concentration Heterogeneity in Structure of Intermetallic Synthesized under Compression

by X-ray analysis, Tem and Sem methods the phase composition, microstructure, and deviation from stoichiometric composition were investigated for the Ni3Al intermetallic compound obtained by cast and self-propagation high-temperature synthesis under compression with followed homogenization anneal, with the Al concentration being 24.0 and 25.0 at. pct with and without b (0.5 at. pct). It was discovered that in SHS intermetallic alloys an average local deviation from stoichiometric composition is significantly more than in the cast alloy. Dependence of the local deviation from the stoichiometric composition on the distance has a zig zag nature at the level of the grain groups. Deviation from the stoichiometric composition at the boundaries of the general type is less than at the boundaries of the special type. when the intensity of boundary migrations of the general type decreases, the degree of deviation from the stoichiometric composition increases. There is correlation between the solubility of b in the crystalline lattice of the Ni3Al phase and the value of the deviation from the stoichiometric composition in the grains. when the b concentration in a solid solution increases, the deviation from stoichiometric composition decreases.

Seasonal variation of selected trace elements in rare endemic species Thuriferous Juniper growing in the Aurès mountains of Algeria

we used energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence（eDXRF） to determine the seasonal variation of selected trace elements（Cr, mn, Zn, Cu, Se and Fe） and some potential toxic elements（Cd, Pb and br） in Juniperus thurifera subsp. africana maire（Cupressaceae） a rare medicinal tree, growing indigenously in Aures mountains of Algeria. The precision of the results was assessed by analyzing the certified reference material IPe44（wePAL）grass leaves. Results showed J. thurifera was characterized by high Cr and mn contents. During autumn and winter mineral concentrations were higher in general. The levels of Cr, Se and mn were higher during autumn and winter than during spring and summer. Zn contents were higher during summer than in other seasons. Cu content did not vary by season. The potential toxic elements in J. thurifera（Pb [ Cd [ br） were below the permissible limits recommended by the Joint wHO/FAO guidelines except for Pb in autumn and winter.

A dark pulse mode-locked laser is experimentally demonstrated using the indium tin oxide(ITO)coated Dshape fiber as a saturable absorber(SA).Using the polishing wheel technique,a D-shape single mode fiber was fabricated.A 60-nm-thick layer of ITO was deposited over the D-shape fiber using the electron beam deposition *** SA has a saturation intensity of 40.32 mw/cm^2 and a modulation depth of 3.5%.A stable dark pulse mode-locked laser was observed at a central wavelength of 1559.4 nm with repetition rate 0.98 mHz,pulse width 370 ns and signal-to-noise ratio 61 db.

Analytical and Numerical Investigation for the Dmbbm equation

The nonlinear dispersive modified benjamin-bona-mahony(Dmbbm)equation is solved numerically using adaptive moving mesh PDes(mmPDes)***,the exact solution of the Dmbbm equation is obtained by using the extended Jacobian elliptic function expansion *** current methods give a wider applicability for handling nonlinear wave equations in engineering and mathematical *** adaptive moving mesh method is compared with exact solution by numerical examples,where the explicit solutions are *** numerical results verify the accuracy of the proposed method.

effect of wall temperature and random distribution of micro organic dust particles on their combustion parameters

The effect of wall temperature on the characteristics of random combustion of micro organic particles with recirculation was investigated. The effect of recirculating in micro-combustors is noticeable, hence it is necessary to present a model to describe the combustion process in these technologies. Recirculation phenomenon is evaluated by entering the exhausted heat from the post flam zone into the preheat zone. In this work, for modeling of random situation at the flame front, the source term in the equation of energy was modeled considering random situation for volatizing of particles in preheat zone. The comparison of obtained results from the proposed model by experimental data regards that the random model has a better agreement with experimental data than non-random model. Also, according to the results obtained by this model, wall temperature affects the amount of heat recirculation directly and higher values of wall temperature will lead to higher amounts of burning velocity and flame temperature.

we report here the synthesis and characterization of two new members of the m2 e 12 family of endohe-dral Zintl clusters,[Fe_(2)Sn_(4)bi_(8)]^(3-)and[Cr_(2)Sb_(12)]^(3-),both of which contain open-shell metal dimers encap-sulated inside a triple-decker cluster of main-group *** 75-electron[Fe_(2)Sn_(4)bi_(8)]^(3-)cluster has a D4h-symmetric structure,while[Cr_(2)Sb_(12)]^(3-),despite having the same 75-electron count,is strongly dis-torted to a geometry that resembles a CrSb_(8)crown capped by a CrSb_(4)*** structural differences between the two are driven by the increasing availability of 3d electron density in the earlier transi-tion metal,which leads,ultimately,to different electronic configurations in the two *** trends precisely mirror those observed in the me_(10)and me_(12)families containing a single transition metal ion.

This research was aimed to study the effect winding orientation on the crashworthiness performance of hybrid *** specimens tested under quasi-static compression load involve of three winding parameters(q?30,45and 70)of hybrid kenaf/glass fiber reinforced epoxy and glass fiber reinforced epoxy as contrast *** automated filament winding technique has been used in fabrication of hybrid and non-hybrid composite tube and crashworthiness performance was investigated *** effects of winding orientation on energy absorption capabilities and crashworthiness characteristic were investigated through quasi-static compression load and the result are compared with the glass fiber composite tube to justify the capability of hybrid natural/synthetic as energy absorption *** samples proved to enhancing the progressive crushing capability as combination of local buckling,delaminate and brittle fracturing as progressive crushing *** the view of winding orientation aspect,the results of high winding orientation of hybrid composite tube elevated the crush load efficiency,specific energy absorption and energy absorption capability compared to glass composite tube(GFRP).The hybrid kenaf/glass composite tube with high winding orientation showed the best winding orientation to enhance the energy absorber characteristics as energy absorption application.

New solutions for combatting implant bacterial infection based on silver nano-dispersed and gallium incorporated phosphate bioactive glass sputtered films:A preliminary study

Ag/Ga were incorporated into resorbable orthopaedic phosphate bioactive glasses(PbG,containing P,Ca,mg,Na,and Fe)thin films to demonstrate their potential to limit growth of Staphylococcus aureus and escherichia coli in post-operative prosthetic *** target consecutive co-sputtering was uniquely employed to produce a 46 nm Ag:PbG composite observed by high resolution Tem to consist of uniformly dispersed~5 nm metallic Ag nano-particles in a glass ***^(3+)was integrated into a phosphate glass preform target which was magnetron sputtered to film thicknesses of~400 or 1400 *** coatings exhibited high surface energy of 75.4-77.3 mN/m,attributed to the presence of hydrolytic P-O-P structural surface *** profiles obtained in deionized water,nutrient broth and cell culture medium showed varying ion release profiles,whereby Ga release was measured in 1400 nm coating by ICP-mS to be~6,27,and 4 ppm respectively,fully dissolving by 24 *** of Ag nanoparticles was only observed in nutrient broth(~9 ppm by 24 h).Quantification of colony forming units after 24 h showed encouraging antibacterial efficacy towards both ***(4-log reduction for Ag:PbG and 6-log reduction for Ga-PbG≈1400 nm)and ***(5-log reduction for all physical vapour deposited layers)*** Hs27 fibroblast and mesenchymal stem cell line in vitro tests indicated good cytocompatibility for all sputtered layers,with a marginal cell proliferation inertia in the case of the Ag:PbG composite thin *** study therefore highlights the(i)significant manufacturing development via the controlled inclusion of metallic nanoparticles into a PbG glass matrix by dual consecutive target co-sputtering and(ii)potential of PbG resorbable thin-film structures to incorporate and release cytocompatible/antibacterial *** architectures showed prospective bio-functional performance for a future generation of endo-osseous implant-type coatings.
