Lysine acetylation, one of the major types of post-translational modifications, plays critical roles in regulating gene expression and protein function. Histone deacetylases(HDACs) are responsible for removing acetyl groups from lysines of both histone and non-histone proteins. While tremendous progress has been made in understanding the function and mechanism of HDACs in animals in the past two decades, nearly half of the HDAC studies in plants were reported within the past five years. In this review,we summarize the major findings on plant HDACs, with a focus on the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, and highlight the components, regulatory mechanisms, and biological functions of HDAC complexes.

Living/controlled cationic ring-opening polymerization(ROP)of L-lactide is a promising approach to isotactic-rich and crystalline poly(L-lactide).In contrast with the unsubstituted lactones,L-LA can not be polymerized by organic Lewis acids or carbenium ions,and the state of the art in this field is the cationic ROP of L-LA catalyzed by brФnsted acid/alcohol system via activated monomer ***,we reported the first example of controlled cationic ROP of L-LA by using Meerweintype ion pair[Me_(3)O]^(+)[b(C_(6)F_(5))_(4)]^(-)as the catalyst.[Me_(3)O]^(+)[b(C_(6)F_(5))_(4)]^(-)promoted rapid L-LA cationic polymerization in the absence of alcohol,producing isotactic-rich and crystalline PLLA without transesterification and epimerization side *** activated chain end mechanism,involving twice S_(N)2 substitution and configuration-inversion(S→R→S)with the assistance of released Me_(2)O,was proposed and further verified by density functional theory and control *** work expands the catalytic toolbox of isotactic-rich and crystalline polylactide *** represents a unique example of cationic-controlled polymerization of L-LA catalyzed by an organic ion pair.

Machined surface integrity of workpieces in harsh environments has a remarkable influence on their ***,the complexity of the new type of machining hinders a comprehensive understanding of machined surface integrity and its formation mechanism,thereby limiting the study of component *** increasing demands for high-quality machined workpieces in aerospace industry applications,researchers from academia and industry are increasingly focusing on post-machining surface *** profile grinding test was conducted on a novel single-crystal superalloy to simulate the formation of blade tenons,and the obtained tenons were characterized for surface integrity elements under various operating *** revealed that ultrasonic vibration-assisted grinding(UVAG)led to multiple superpositions of abrasive grain trajectories,causing reduced surface roughness(an average reduction of approximately29.6%)compared with conventional *** examining the subsurface layer of UVAG using transmission electron microscopy,the results revealed that the single-crystal tenon grinding subsurface layer exhibited a gradient evolution from the near-surface to the *** evolution was characterized by an equiaxed nanocrystalline layer measuring 0.34μm,followed by a submicrocrystalline grain-forming zone spanning 0.6μm and finally,a constituent phase-twisted dis-torted deformation zone over 0.62μ*** normal grinding conditions,the tenon exhibited low surface hardening(not exceeding 15%),and residual compressive stresses were observed on its *** cases where grinding burns occurred,a white layer appeared on the tenon's surface,which demonstrated varying thicknesses along the teeth from top to root due to thermal-force-structural coupling ***,these burns introduced residual tensile stresses on the tenon's surface,potentially substantially affecting its fatigue *** paper enhances our understanding of UVAG pro

It has been reported that the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway plays a key role in the pathogenesis of ischemic *** a result,the development of drugs targeting the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway has attracted increasing attention from *** article reviews the pathological mechanisms and advancements in research related to the signaling pathways in ischemic stroke,with a focus on the PI3K/AKT signaling *** key findings include the following:(1)The complex pathological mechanisms of ischemic stroke can be categorized into five major types:excitatory amino acid toxicity,Ca^(2+)overload,inflammatory response,oxidative stress,and apoptosis.(2)The PI3K/AKT-mediated signaling pathway is closely associated with the occurrence and progression of ischemic stroke,which primarily involves the NF-κb,NRF2,bCL-2,mTOR,and endothelial NOS signaling pathways.(3)Natural products,including flavonoids,quinones,alkaloids,phenylpropanoids,phenols,terpenoids,and iridoids,show great potential as candidate substances for the development of innovative anti-stroke medications.(4)Recently,novel therapeutic techniques,such as electroacupuncture and mesenchymal stem cell therapy,have demonstrated the potential to improve stroke outcomes by activating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway,providing new possibilities for the treatment and rehabilitation of patients with ischemic *** investigations should focus on the direct regulatory mechanisms of drugs targeting the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway and their clinical translation to develop innovative treatment strategies for ischemic stroke.

buoyancy-driven flows are prevalent in a wide range of geophysical and astrophysical systems. In this review, we focus on threepivotal effects that significantly influence the dynamics and transport properties of buoyancy-driven flows and may have impli-cations for natural systems. These effects pertain to the role of boundary conditions, the impact of rotation, and the effect offinite size. boundary conditions represent how the fluid flow interacts with different kinds of surfaces. Rotation, as the Earth’srotation in geophysical systems or the whirling of astrophysical systems, introduces Coriolis and centrifugal forces, leading tothe profound vortical structure and distinct transport property. Finite size, representing geometrical constraints, influences thebehavior of buoyancy-driven flows across varying geometrical settings. This review aims to provide a holistic understanding ofthe intricate interplay of these factors, offering insights into the complex natural phenomena from the perspectives of the threeeffects.

Histone H2b ubiquitination(H2bub)is positively linked to transcriptional activation,but the genetic programs affected by H2bub to enhance drought tolerance remain largely ***,we show that OsbZIP27 interacts directly with OsHUb1/2 to regulate drought tolerance in rice by binding to the promoters of OsHAK1 and OsGLN1 to achieve H2bub and transcriptional ***,mutations in OsbZIP27 reduce transcription of OsHAK1 and OsGLN1,resulting in increased sensitivity to drought ***,loss of OsHUb1 and OsHUb2 function causes hypersensitivity to drought stress,whereas OsHUb2 overexpression enhances drought ***,our results indicate that OsbZIP27 coordinates with OsHUb1/2 to enhance rice drought tolerance by increasing H2bub and expression of OsHAK1 and OsGLN1.
