Advanced OER/HER electrocatalytic alternatives are crucial for the wide adaptation of green hydrogen ***,Ru/NiMnb spherical cluster pillar （ScP）,denoted as Ru/NiMnb,is synthesized using a combination of electro-deposition and hydrothermal *** investigation of Ru doping in the NiMnb matrix revealed significant improvements in electrocatalytic *** Ru/NiMnb ScPs demonstrate superior OER/HER activity with low overpotentials of 150 and 103 mV at 50mA/cm2in 1 M KOH,making them highly competitive with state-of-the-art ***,the Ru/NiMnb ScPs exhibit a low 2-E cell voltage of 2.80 V at ultra-high current density of 2,000 m A/cm2in 1 M KOH,outperforming the standard benchmark electrodes of RuO2||Pt/c,thereby positioning Ru/NiMnb as one of the best bifunctional *** ScPs exhibit exceptional high-current characteristics,stability and corrosion resistance,as evidenced by continuous operation at 1,000 mA/cm2high-current density for over 150 h in 6 M KOH at elevated temperatures under harsh industrial *** a small amount of Ru incorporation significantly enhances the electrocatalytic performances of NiMnb,attributed to increased active sites and improved intrinsic properties such as conductivity,adsorption/desorption capability and reaction ***,Ru/NiMnb ScPs present a promising bi-functional electrode concept for efficient green H2production.

Radiation risks associated with serial imaging in colorectal cancer patients:Should we worry?

To provide an overview of the radiation related cancer risk associated with multiple computed tomographic scans required for follow up in colorectal cancer patients. A literature search of the PubMed and cochrane Library databases was carried out and limited to the last 10 years from December 2012. Inclusion criteria were studies where computed tomographic scans or radiation from other medical imaging modalities were used and the risks associated with ionizing radiation reported. Thirty-six studies were included for appraisal with no randomized controlled trials. Thirty-four of the thirty-six studies showed a positive association between medical imaging radiation and increased risk of cancer. The radiation dose absorbed and cancer risk was greater in children and young adults than in older patients. Most studies included in the review used a linear, no-threshold model to calculate cancer risks and this may not be applicable at low radiation doses. Many studies are retrospective and ensuring complete follow up on thousands of patients is difficult. There was a minor increased risk of cancer from ionizing radiation in medical imaging studies. The radiation risks of low dose exposure (< 50 milli-Sieverts) are uncertain. A clinically justified scan in the context of colorectal cancer is likely to provide more benefits than harm but current guidelines for patient follow up will need to be revised to accommodate a more aggressive approach to treating metastatic disease.

Magnetic field topology frozen in ideal magnetohydrodynamics （MHD） and its breakage in near-ideal MHD are reviewed in two parts, clarifying and expanding basic concepts. The first part gives a physically complete description of the frozen field topology derived from magnetic flux conservation as the fundamental property, treating four conceptually related topics： Eulerian and La- grangian descriptions of three dimensional （3D） MHD, chandrasekhar-Kendall and Euler-potential field representations, magnetic helicity, and inviscid vortex dynamics as a fluid system in physical contrast to ideal MHD. A corollary of these developments clar- ifies the challenge of achieving a high degree of the frozen-in condition in numerical MHD. The second part treats field-topology breakage centered around the Parker Magnetostatic Theorem on a general incompatibility of a continuous magnetic field with the dual demand of force-free equilibrium and an arbitrarily prescribed, 3D field topology. Preserving field topology as a global con- straint readily results in formation of tangential magnetic discontinuities, or, equivalently, electric current-sheets of zero thickness. A similar incompatibility is present in the steady force-thermal balance of a heated radiating fluid subject to an anisotropic thermal flux conducted strictly along its frozen-in magnetic field in the low-fl limit. In a weakly resistive fluid the thinning of current sheets by these general incompatibilities inevitably results field notwithstanding the small resistivity. Strong Faraday in sheet dissipation, resistive heating and topological changes in the induction drives but also macroscopically limits this mode of energy dissipation, trapping or storing free energy in self-organized ideal-MHD structures. This property of MHD turbulence captured by the Taylor hypothesis is reviewed in relation to the Sun＇s corona, calling for a basic quantitative description of the breakdown of flux conservation in the low-resistivity li

Low-impact development （LID） technologies, such as bioretention areas, rooftop rainwater harvesting, a_nd xeris_caping can co_ntrol stormwater runoff, supply non-potable water, and landscape open *** study examines a hybrid system （HS） that combines LID technologies with a centralized water system to lessen the burden on a conventional system （cS）. cS is defined as the stormwater collection and water supply infrastructure, and the conventional landscaping choices in the city of Atlanta. The study scope is limited to five single-family residential zones （SFZs）, classified R-1 through R-5, and four multi-family residential zones （MFZs）, classified RG-2 through RG-5. Population density increases from 0.4 （R-1） to 62.2 （RG-5） persons per 1,000 m2. We performed a life cycle assessment （LcA） comparison of cS and HS using TRAcI 2.1 to simulate impacts on the ecosystem, human health, and natural resources. We quantified the impact of freshwater consumption using the freshwater ecosystem impact （FEI） indicator. Test results indicate that HS has a higher LcA single score than cS in zones with a low population density; however, the difference becomes negligible as population density increases. Incorporating LID in SFZs and MFZs can reduce potable water use by an average of 50%. and 25%,respectively.; however, water savings are negligible in zones with high population density （i.e., RG-5） due to the diminished surface area per capitaavailable for LID technoogies. The results demonstrate that LID technologies effectively reduce outdoor water demand and therefore would be a good choice to decrease the water consumption impact in the city of Atlanta.

The effect of non-magnetic Al^3＋ ion doping on the magnetic properties of MnFe2-2x Al2xO4 （0 ≤x≤ 0.4） spinel ferrites was studied using Moessbauer spectroscopy measurements at room temperature. From the Moessbauer study, it is observed that the ：esolved hyperfine sextets are due to the distribution of Fe ions on the two sublattices of the spinel ferrites. The value of the isomer shift obtained from the fitting of the Moessbauer spectra indicates that Fe ions are in ＋3 state. A paramagnetic doublet is observed at ：iegree of inversion x=0.4, superimposed on the hyperfine sextets, indicating that the super-exchange interaction A-b decreases due to ：he dilution of sublattice by Al^3＋ ions. The hyperfine magnetic field decreases at both interstitial sites of tetrahedral （A） and 3ctahedral （b） with the increase in Al concentration.

The mixed spinel ferrite system Mg0.95Mn0.05Fe2-2xTizxO4 （0 ≤x ≤ 0.7） was synthesized by the conventional solid-state reaction technique. The effect of Ti^4＋ doping was studied by using the Moessbauer spectroscopy measurements at room temperature. From the analysis of the Moessbauer spectra, it is observed that s-electron density, electric field gradient （EFG）, quadrupole coupling constant （Qcc） and the net hyperfine magnetic fields acting on the Moessbauer nuclei-FeA^3＋ and Feb^3＋ change with the increase of Ti^4＋ doping in Mg0.95Mn0.05Fe2O4. The hyperfine magnetic field decreases with the increase of Ti^4＋ doping.
