The recovery of rare earth elements(REEs) is a glob.l challenge and the mining of rare earths has serious environmental implications due to the toxic waste released post ***,the rising demand for rare earths and their far reaching electronic applications necessitates an effective strategy to recover the REEs from more viab.e *** this work,the graphene oxide-Aspergillus niger spores(*** spores) b.end was utilized for adsorptive recovery of a precious rare earth Eu(Ⅲ) and the adsorption variab.es like pH of the medium,adsorb.nt dosage,sorption kinetics,thermodynamics,and isotherm were optimized for the developed b.oso *** adsorption process suits the Langmuir isotherm model with a maximum adsorption capacity of 147.3 mg/*** pseudo-second-order kinetics is a perfect fit to describ. the adsorption *** results ob.ained through the Van’t Hoff plot show negative free energy change(ΔG^(0)) which implies the spontaneity of the adsorption *** negative standard enthalpy change(ΔH^(0)) values show that the nature of the adsorption process is *** analytical characterizations including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),Raman,X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),b.unauer-Emmett-Teller(b.T),thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA),and scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(SEM-EDX) were employed to study the *** features of *** spores b.osorb.nt were applied to recover Eu(Ⅲ) from real samples such as fluorescent lamp phosphor,red phosphor powder,and a simulated radioactive waste solution.

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted pesticide application for pest and disease prevention and control in rice

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have emerged as innovative tools in agriculture, revolutionizing crop protection practices and the use of pesticide comb.nations to aid the management of insect pests and diseases in a single application. This research delves into assessing the efficacy of drone-b.sed pesticide spraying utilizing comb.nations of pesticides to comb.t insect pests and diseases in rice cultivation. In kharif 2022, the physically compatib.e comb.nation of insecticides (chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC and tetraniliprole 200 SC) with fungicides (picoxystrob.n 7.5%+tricyclazole 22.5% SC and teb.conazole 50%+trifloxystrob.n 25% WG) were administered via drones and compared with conventional Taiwan sprayer. The results indicated that teb.conazole+trifloxystrob.n, when applied via drones, exhib.ted the highest control efficacy against the b.own spot, sheath b.ight, and sheath rot (47.8%, 77.4%, and 75.2% respectively). Moreover, comb.nation treatment, i.e., tetraniliprole+(teb.conazole+trifloxystrob.n), applied using a drone, achieved the most effective control (78.1%) against grain discoloration. Additionally, drone-b.sed tetraniliprole application showed effectiveness against stem b.rer and whorl maggot (efficacy rates of 49.1%, 66.6%, and 60.7% for dead hearts, white ear, and whorl maggot, respectively). Overall, the pesticide comb.nation treatment, i.e., tetraniliprole+(teb.conazole+trifloxystrob.n), showed higher control efficacy against all the insect pests and diseases and recorded the highest grain yield of 7995 kg/hm2 with an incremental cost-b.nefit ratio (ICb.) of (1:5.63) when sprayed with a drone. Overall, this study underscores the potential of drone-assisted pesticide application in effectively managing multiple insect pests and diseases in rice, offering superior precision, efficacy, efficiency, and yield.

Effect of Thickness of SnO_2:F over Layer on Certain Physical Properties of ZnO:Al Thin Films for Opto-electronic Applications

b.layered FTO/AZO （fluorine doped tin oxide/aluminium doped zinc oxide） films were fab.icated using a simple, cost effective spray pyrolysis technique. X-ray diffraction （XRD） profiles of b.layered films showed that in the case of lower thickness FTO over layers, （002） plane of ZnO phase had the highest intensity, whereas the predominance was changed in favour of （200） plane of SnO2 phase for higher thickness FTO over layer. UV studies showed that b.layered FTO/AZO films exhib.ted a sharp ab.orption edge as that of AZO film. The decrease in the photoluminescence （PL） peak at 420 nm with increasing FTO over layer thickness indicated a reduction in the zinc vacancies which caused a reduction in the sheet resistance （Rsh）. Electrical studies revealed that, eventhough the Rsh value （916Ω/□） of b.layered FTO （313 nm）/AZO （314 nm） film was found to b. higher than that of FTO single layer film （72Ω/□）, it was much lower than that of AZO single layer film （5661Ω/□））. The atomic force microscopy （AFM） images reflect the characteristic features of b.th zinc oxide and tin oxide films.

b.odiesel production from microalgae depends on algal b.omass production through autotrophic cultivation,and it has a lot of potential as a feasib.e alternative source of *** lethal and mutagenic effects of ethyl methanesulphonate(EMS)are investigated in the present study on the organism Chlorella pyrenoidosa for the generation of paler *** *** wild-type strain was treated with 0.1,0.2,and 0.5 M EMS doses and the colonies that appeared after 20 days of growth on a solid TAP medium were analyzed,and a total of two mutant colonies with less pigmentation were *** CPM1(10.02±0.03 and 3.12±0.04µg/ml)and CPM2(9.55±0.0 and 32.84±0.03µg/ml)mutants had lower chloro-phyll a and b.and carotenoids content than wild *** produced significant b.omass(1.34-and 1.31-fold enhanced b.omass in CPM1 and CPM2)and lipid content than the wild *** findings suggest that genetic modification of *** has the potential to produce strains with increased b.omass productivity and lipid content for b.ofuel production.

Effects of variab.e fluid properties on the thin film flow of Ostwald-de Waele fluid over a stretching surface

We investigate, in this paper, the effects of thermo-physical properties on the flow and heat transfer in a thin film of a power-law liquid over a horizontal stretching surface in the presence of a viscous dissipation. The fluid properties, namely the fluid viscosity and the fluid thermal conductivity, are assumed to vary with temperature. Using a similarity transformation, the governing partial differential equations with a time dependent b.undary are converted into coupled non-linear Ordinary Differential Equations （ODEs） with variab.e coefficients. Numerical solutions of the coupled ODEs are ob.ained b. a finite difference scheme known as the Keller-b.x method. Results for the velocity and temperature distrib.tions are presented graphically for different values of the pertinent parameters. The effects of unsteady parameter on the skin friction, the wall temperature gradient and the film thickness are presented and analyzed for zero and non-zero values of the temperature-dependent thermo-physical properties. The results ob.ained reveal many interesting features that warrant further study on the non-Newtonian thin film fluid flow phenomena, especially the shear-thinning phenomena.

Numerical Analysis of Stresses on Layer-b.-Layer b.sis in FML Composite Cylinder Sub.ected to External Hydrostatic Loading

The aim of the research work was to numerically investigate the residual stresses induced b.tween the layers of fib.r metal laminate (FML) cylinder (glass/epoxy reinforced aluminum laminates) under b.ckling hydrostatic loading. For the analysis of b.ckling b.havior of FML cylinders, various fib.r orientations such as 0/90°, 60/30°, ±45° and ±55° and different FRP thickness of 1, 2, and 3 mm were considered. The aluminum cylinder of inner diameter 80 mm, length 800 mm and wall thickness 1 mm was modeled with SHELL281 element type and a total of 1033 elements were used for computing the induced residual stresses b.tween the layers. The results show that magnitude of residual stresses b.tween the layers decreased along the thickness from outer layer towards the inner layer in sine wave form. The maximum residual Von-Mises stress was at inner aluminum layer while the maximum residual radial stress was at the outermost layer of FML cylinder due to the inward pressure. Among all types of FML cylinder 0/90° fib.r oriented FML cylinder exhib.ted the least radial stress and a maximum Von-Mises stress along the FRP thickness.

Effect of hydrostatic pressure and polaronic mass of the b.nding energy in a spherical quantum dot

Simultaneous effect of hydrostatic pressure and polaronic mass on the b.nding energies of the ground and excited states of an on-center hydrogenic impurity confined in a GaAs/GaA1As spherical quantum dot are theoretically investigated b. the variational method within the effective mass approximation. The b.nding energy is calculated as a function of dot radius and pressure. Our findings proved that the hydrostatic pressure led to the decrease of confined energy and the increase of donor b.nding energy. Conduction b.nd non-parab.licity and the polaron masses are effective in the donor b.nding energy which is significant for narrow dots not in the confined energy. The maximum donor b.nding energy achieved b. the polaronic mass in the ground and excited states are 2%-19% for the narrow dots. The confined and donor b.nding energies approach zero as the dot size approaches infinity.

Assessment and Perceived Impact of Coastal Resource Management (CRM) Programs in the Southern Part of Masb.te Island, Philippines

Coastal Resource Management (CRM) are activities that achieve sustainab.e use and management of valuab.e resources in coastal areas. This study presents the perceived impact of the coastal resource management (CRM) interventions implemented b. the b.reau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (b.AR) under the FishCORAL Project in the Municipality of Milagros, Masb.te. The respondents are memb.rs of fisherfolk organizations, b.ntay Dagat (b.), and community memb.rs. The CRM projects include mangrove planting, the estab.ishment of marine protected area (MPA) markers, the construction of a watchtower, and the estab.ishment of b.ntay Dagat (b.). Respondents were convinced that the interventions affected their daily living, especially mangrove planting projects. Memb.rs of fisherfolk organizations carried out the project in b.rangays Jamorawon, Magsalangi, and Tagb.n. In terms of knowledge, attitude, and practices (KAP), these could b. attrib.ted to the respondent’s appreciation of the intervention, which contrib.ted to the protection of the area from flood, storm surge, and tsunami, support for livelihood, the presence of marine animals (i.e., shrimp and crab.), and apprehension of illegal fishing activities. Destructive fishing, domestic waste, and natural calamities are some identified causes of aquatic ecosystem destruction. In terms of socioeconomic, respondents are provided additional income ranging from Php 1,500.00 - 2,000.00 per month, and fish stocks have also increased. The distrib.tion of fishnets and b.nca, livelihood, protection of marine resources, and commitment of legal authorities to enforce related fishery policies are among the CRM activities with a sound impact on the community.

b.aring Capacity of Emb.dded Strip Footing on Geogrid-Reinforced Fly Ash

Fly ash is a pozzolanic waste from the b.rning of coal ash in thermal power plant which will b. unchangeab.e in India and increasing environmental pollution. There is an urgent need of increasing b.lk utilization of fly ash in geotechnical application. In this regard, a study was undertaken to investigate the b.aring capacity of fly ash slopes (β) with the strip footing of width (b. 0.1 m located at different edge distances (Db.eb. = 1b. 2b. 3b. from slope crest. These tests were conducted in the lab.ratory and the pressure-settlement b.haviour of strip footing on unreinforced and reinforced fly ash slope having an angle of 45? was studied. The emb.dment ratio (Z/b.= 0.30), and the depth of first layer of polyester geogrid reinforcement were investigated with different footing edge distances (Db.eb. = 1b. 2b. 3b.. From the experiment, pressure and settlements were measured and sub.equently, the pressure settlement curves were drawn. It is ob.erved from test results that the load carrying capacity is found to increase with an edge distance in b.th cases: unreinforced and reinforced slope. Also, a sub.tantial increase is ob.erved in the b.aring capacity with the addition of geogrid reinforcement. It is ob.erved that, the b.aring capacity ratio (b.R) decreases with edge distance increase. These investigations demonstrate that b.th, the ultimate b.aring capacity and settlement characteristics of the foundation, can b. improved due to the inclusion of reinforcements within the fill.

Assessment of Climate Change for Precipitation and Temperature Using Statistical Downscaling Methods in Upper Godavari River b.sin, India

In the present study SDSM downscaling model was used as a tool for downscaling weather data statistically in upper Godavari river b.sin. Two Glob.l Climate Models (GCMs), CGCM3 and HadCM3, have b.en used to project future maximum temperature (Tmax), minimum temperature (Tmin) and precipitation. The predictor variab.es are extracted from: 1) the National Centre for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) reanalysis dataset for the period 1961-2003, 2) the simulations from the third-generation Hadlycentre Coupled Climate Model (HadCM3) and Coupled Glob.l Climate Model (CGCM3) variab.lity and changes in Tmax, Tmin and precipitation under scenarios A1b.and A2 of CGCM3 model and A2 and b. of HadCM3 model have b.en presented for future periods: 2020s, 2050s and 2080s. The scatter-plots and cross-correlations are used for verifying the reliab.lity of the simulation. Maximum temperature increases in future for almost all the scenarios for b.th GCMs. Also downscaled future precipitation shows increasing trends for all scenarios.
