Efficiency of Legumes in Increasing Yam Yield.und.r Sand. Ferrasol in the Forest Zone of Southwestern Côte d.#8217;Ivoire

The cropping system is b.sed.on trad.tional farming in rural areas. In this way, yield. of some food.crops like yam are very low consid.ring their high need.for nutrients. The nutrient-rich land.is und.r high land.pressure as it is occupied.b. cash crops such as oil palm and.rub.er at the expense of food.crops and.soil fertility is d.clining. The stud. was cond.cted.in Grand.Lahou to assess the effect of organic matter provid.d.b. legumes in increasing yam yield. The rand.mized.complete b.ock d.sign includ.d.four (4) treatments: Arachis hypogaea + yam association (T1), Acacia mangium + yam association (T2), Arachis + Acacia mangium + yam association (T3) and.pure yam crop (T0). The parameters measured.were: the soil nutrients content, the rate of mineralization of organic matter through the C/N ratio as well as the yield.of yam through d.fferent techniques that allowed.the ob.ective of the stud. to b. achieved. It was noted.a slight improvement of nitrogen and.organic carb.n in all treatments with a higher value record.d.in the T2 treatment. The C/N ratio d.creased.to 12 in all treatments compared.to the control, which reflects a normal d.composition of the organic matter. Treatment T1 increased.yam yield.(8.4 t/ha) in contrast to treatments T2 (4.1 t/ha) and.T3 (2.8 t/ha). Legume-b.sed.treatments T2 and.T3 were associated.with a significant d.crease in yam yield. resulting in losses of −46.34% to −25.09%, while treatment T1 resulted.in a gain of 28.57%. As a result, the treatments involving legumes contrib.ted.to normalizing the organic matter content of the soil. The simultaneous association of these two legumes led.to a d.crease in yam prod.ction, contrary to the treatment associating only ground.ut.

The prominent linear d.ke rid.es outcropped.in the Narmad.-Tapi d.kes’ swarm represent an intrusion in the d.ccan Traps. Und.rstand.ng the relationship among the und.rlying geological structures, the strike of the d.kes, and.the channel patterns is essential. d.kes act as ob.tructions to stream flow, causing d.versions, and.their geometry and.patterns significantly impact the rivers and.streams that d.ain and.cross the d.ke swarm zone. For this stud., Google Earth images, LISS III images, and.Cartosat d.M were used.to d.lineate the Shivan b.sin and.extract d.ke features. The Shivan River b.sin is a sixth-ord.r d.ainage system that reflects superimposed.d.ainage systems within the Tapi d.ke swarm zone. Ab.ut 65% (169 km2) of its area is controlled.b. d.ke orientation. The d.ke rid.es align pred.minantly in an East-West (E-W) d.rection, a pattern mainly followed.b. lower-ord.r streams, which have d.veloped.an insequent, transverse d.ainage network within the d.ke swarm zone. In the lower parts of the Shivan b.sin, where the numb.r of d.kes d.creases, the d.ainage network follows the general slope and.is oriented.in a North-South d.rection. The Shivan River and.its trib.taries have partially ad.usted.to the d.ke orientation, resulting in a transverse d.ainage pattern in areas characterized.b. parallel d.ke rid.es.

The use of carb.n d.oxid. as a working fluid.has b.en the sub.ect of extensive stud.es in recent years, particularly in the field.of refrigeration where it is at the heart of research to replace CFC and.HCFC. Its thermod.namic properties make it a fluid.of choice in the efficient use of energy at low and.med.um temperatures in engine cycles. However, the performance of transcritical CO2 cycles weakens und.r high temperature and.pressure cond.tions, especially in refrigeration systems;On the other hand. this d.sad.antage b.comes rather interesting in engine cycles where CO2 can b. used.as an alternative to the organic working fluid.in small and.med.um-sized.electrical systems for low quality or waste heat sources. In ord.r to improve the performance of systems operating with CO2 in the field.of refrigeration and.electricity prod.ction, research has mad. it possib.e to d.velop several concepts, of which this article d.als with a review of the state of the art, followed.b. analyzes in-d.pth and.critical of the various d.velopments to the most recent mod.fications in these field.. d.tailed.d.scussions on the performance and.technical characteristics of the d.fferent evolutions are also highlighted.as well as the factors affecting the overall performance of the systems stud.ed. While we eagerly anticipate SMILE’s(Solar wind.Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer)unpreced.nted.X-ray ob.ervations of the Earth’s magnetosheath and.the initiation of a new era of magnetospheric research,it seems appropriate to look ahead.to the ab.lities of the next generation of astrophysics *** these,the Line Emission Mapper(LEM),a large aperture micro-calorimeter b.sed.mission,is currently planned.to b. ab.e to ob.erve the magnetosheath at high spectral resolution(~2 eV).With a field.of view of~30′,LEM will allow higher spatial resolution and.higher cad.nce measurement of the motion of a very small portion of the magnetopause over relatively short period. of time(multiple hours),complementing SMILE’s glob.l ***’s strength is its spectral *** will b. ab.e to measure the ab.nd.nce of a b.oad.range of elements and.ionization states,many of which are inaccessib.e to current in situ instruments,and.will b. ab.e to separate the emission from the magnetosheath from the emission from the cosmic X-ray b.ckground.using the d.fference in their relative velocities.

b.cterial colonization of orthoped.c implants is one of the lead.ng causes of failure and.clinical complexities for load.b.aring metallic implants. Topical or systemic ad.inistration of antib.otics may not offer the most efficient d.fense against colonization, especially in the case of second.ry infection, lead.ng to surgical removal of implants and.in some cases even limb.. In this stud., laser powd.r b.d.fusion was implemented.to fab.icate Ti3Al2V alloy b. a 1:1 weight mixture of CpTi and.Ti6Al4V powd.rs. Ti-Tantalum(Ta)–Copper(Cu) alloys were further analyzed.b. the ad.ition of Ta and.Cu into the Ti3Al2V custom alloy. The b.ological,mechanical, and.trib.-b.ocorrosion properties of Ti3Al2V alloy were evaluated. A 10 wt.% Ta(10Ta) and.3 wt.% Cu(3Cu) were ad.ed.to the Ti3Al2V alloy to enhance b.ocompatib.lity and.impart inherent b.cterial resistance. Ad.itively manufactured.implants were investigated.for resistance against Pseud.monas aeruginosa and.Staphylococcus aureus strains of b.cteria for up to 48 h. A 3 wt.% Cu ad.ition to Ti3Al2V d.splayed.improved.antib.cterial efficacy, i.e.78%–86% with respect to CpTi. Mechanical properties for Ti3Al2V–10Ta–3Cu alloy were evaluated. d.monstrating excellent fatigue resistance, exceptional shear strength, and.improved.trib.logical and.trib.-b.ocorrosion characteristics when compared.to Ti6Al4V. In vivo stud.es using a rat d.stal femur mod.l revealed.improved.early-stage osseointegration for alloys with10 wt.% Ta ad.ition compared.to CpTi and.Ti6Al4V. The 3 wt.% Cu-ad.ed.compositions d.splayed.b.ocompatib.lity and.no ad.erse infammatory response in vivo. Our results estab.ish the Ti3Al2V–10Ta–3Cu alloy’s synergistic effect on improving b.th in vivo b.ocompatib.lity and.microb.al resistance for the next generation of load.b.aring metallic implants.

In a local context, sustainab.e d.velopment entails utilizing the current resources—material and.immaterial, measurab.e and.immeasurab.e, popular and.unpopular—of the community in a manner that avoid. overexploitation and.ensures intergenerational equity. This approach prioritizes the safety and.health of local citizens, placing communal prod.ctivity ab.ve corporate profitab.lity. This research aims to assess air quality surround.ng 28 chemical ind.stry sites in b.ton Rouge, Louisiana, to und.rstand.the environmental and.health impacts of ind.strial pollutants, with a focus on environmental justice. Air quality pollutants, includ.ng PM2.5, PM10, O3, NO2, CO, and.SO2, were monitored.for 75 d.ys d.ring the Summer, using the b.eezoMeter app. Python, Mapize, and.QGIS software technologies were utilized.for d.ta analysis and.visualization. Find.ngs ind.cate a red.ction in NO2 and.CO levels, compared.to existing literature. However, the persistent challenge of particulate matter suggests areas for further environmental management efforts. Ad.itionally, the research suggests a significant d.sparity in air pollution exposure, prob.b.y affecting marginalized.communities. Although the nature of the stud. might not fully capture annual pollution trend., the find.ngs highlight the urgent need.for the chemical ind.stry to ad.pt efficient prod.ction method. and.for policymakers to enhance air quality stand.rd. and.enforcement, particularly in pollution-sensitive areas. The d.sproportionate impact of air pollution on vulnerab.e communities calls for a more inclusive approach to environmental justice, ensuring equitab.e d.strib.tion of clean air b.nefits and.community involvement in pollution management d.cisions.

Ion heat transport in electron cyclotron resonance heated.L-mod. plasma on the T-10 tokamak

Anomalous ion heat transport is analyzed.in the T-10 tokamak plasma heated.with electron cyclotron resonance heating(ECRH) in second.harmonic extra-ord.nary mod.. Pred.ctive mod.ling with empirical scaling for Ohmical heat cond.ctivity shows that in ECRH plasmas the calculated.ion temperature could.b. overestimated. so an increase of anomalous ion heat transport is required. To stud. this effect two scans are presented. over the EC resonance position and.over the ECRH power. The EC resonance position varies from the high-field.sid. to the low-field.sid. b. variation of the toroid.l magnetic field. The scan over the heating power is presented.with on-axis and.mixed.ECRH regimes. d.scharges with high anomalous ion heat transport are ob.ained.in all consid.red.regimes. In these d.scharges the power b.lance ion heat cond.ctivity exceed. the neoclassical level b. up to 10 times. The high ion heat transport regimes are d.stinguished.b. three parameters: the ratio Te/Ti, the normalized.electron d.nsity grad.ent R/■, and.the ion–ion collisionality νii~*. The comb.nation of high Te/Ti, high νii~*, and.R/■=6-10 results in values of normalized.anomalous ion heat fluxes up to 10 times higher than in the low transport scenario.
