The effect of Er3＋ ion concentration on transient and steady-state b.havior in 45-nm Er3＋：YAG crystal is investigated. It is shown that b. changing the signal field, the coherent field and the concentration of Er3＋ ions in the crystal, the ab.orption, dispersion, and group index of the weak prob. field can b. adjusted. Also, it is found that the prob. ab.orption occurs in the presence of population inversion and prob. amplification is ob.ained in the ab.ence of population inversion.

We study the ab.orption-dispersion process and group index of weak prob. field in a four-level Er^3＋：YAG *** find that the Er^3＋ion concentration and incoherent pumping field can influence the ab.orption-dispersion process and group index of weak prob. field. Moreover, our results show that Er^3＋ion concentration plays a major role in lasing without inversion and ab.orption with inversion.

A doub.e cascade-type four-level multiple-quantum-well-b.sed exciton-b.exciton transitions are proposed. The study is carried out on a 4.8-rim ZnSe single-quantum well which is emb.dded into ZnMgSSe cladding layers and pseudomor- phically grown b. molecular b.am epitaxy on a （0 0 1） GaAs sub.trate. It is displayed that the exciton spin relaxation and relative phases b.tween applied fields can influence the transient and steady-state b.haviors of ab.orption, dispersion, and group velocity of two weak prob. and signal fields. Also, transient b.haviors of electron population of different levels are discussed. It is found that the prob. or signal amplification occurs in the ab.ence of population inversion.

Using Keldysh nonequilib.ium Green function formalism and mapping a many-b.dy electron-phonon interaction onto a one b.dy prob.em, the electron transport through a serially coupled doub.e quantum dot system is analyzed. The influence of the electron-phonon interaction, temperature, detuning, and interdot tunneling on the transmission coefficient and current is studied. Our results show that the electron-phonon interaction results in the appearance of the side peaks in the transmission coefficient, whose height is strongly dependent on the phonon temperature. We have also found that the inequality of the electron-phonon interaction strength in two dots gives rise to an asymmetry in the current-voltage characteristic. In addition, the temperature difference b.tween the phonon and electron sub.ystems results in the reduction of the saturated current and the destruction of the step-like b.havior of the current. It is also ob.erved that the detuning can improve the magnitude of the current b. compensating the mismatch of the quantum dots energy levels induced b. the electron-phonon interaction.

In this study, the thermoelectric properties of pyrene molecule doped with b.ron and nitrogen atom at different sites of molecule are investigated using density functional theory and none-equilib.ium Greens function formalism in the linear response regime. Our calculations show that when the impurities are added to the edge of the molecule, the anti-resonant peaks will appear in the transmission diagram in the vicinity of the Fermi energy level. So it increases the thermoelectric figure of merit of the system in comparison with the one that the impurity is located in the center of molecule. Additionally, the seeb.ck coefficient signs are not the same among the b. N, and N ＆ b.doped devices, indicating that the types of the carriers can b. changed with different types of doping.

The charge and spin-dependent thermoelectric properties of different lengths of polythiophene in a molecular junction are investigated using the b.¨uttiker prob. method within Green function formalism in linear response regime. The coupling of the molecular chain to three-dimensional ferromagnetic electrodes is describ.d b. a tight-b.nding model for b.th parallel and antiparallel spin configurations. The decrease of height of transmission prob.b.lity peaks and thermoelectric coefficients are ob.erved in the presence of the b.¨uttiker prob.s. The reduction is more intensive in the strong dephased *** show that the spin magnetothermopower is b.gger than the charge magnetothermopower due to the larger difference b.tween the spin thermopowers with respect to the charge ones. In addition, we ob.erved that the kind of carriers participating in the thermoelectric transport depends on the numb.r of the thiophene rings.

In this paper we investigate the optical properties of an open four-level tripod atomic system driven b. an elliptically polarized prob. field and compare its properties with the corresponding closed system. Our results reveal that ab.orption,dispersion, group velocity, and optical b.stab.lity of the prob. field can b. manipulated b. adjusting the phase difference b.tween the two circularly polarized components of a single coherent field and cavity parameters, i.e., the atomic exit rate from cavity and atomic injection rates.
