ESb. Pro.uctio. and Multidrug Resistance o. Salmo.ella Sero.ars Iso.ates in b.nue State

Studies o. ESb.-pro.ucing and multi-drug resistance o. Salmo.ella sero.ars distrib.ted in b.nue State were investigated. A to.al o. fo.r hundred and twenty (420) clinical sto.l samples, seventy (70) fro. each lo.al go.ernment area were rando.ly co.lected fro. selected ho.pitals and analyzed fo. the presence o. Salmo.ella spp. The iso.ates were characterized using Gram staining and b.o.hemical tests. The result o. AP120E b.o.hemical test strip which co.tained dehydrated b.cterial media and b.o.hemical reagents in twenty (20) separate co.partments. The result was o.0}ained b. evaluatio. o. the co.partments due to.o.0}erved changes in after 24 ho.rs where o.hers were read b. adding up reagents (Ferric chlo.ide, Ko.acs V.P reagents). The results were analyzed afterwards in acco.dance with the manufacturer’s so.tware and po.itive results with ≥89% po.ential were co.firmed as Salmo.ella spp. Amplified plasmids derived fro. 18 Salmo.ella strains reco.nized were made up o. 23,130 b.se pairs. ESb. (Extended-spectrum b.ta-lactamases) genes were lo.ated o. the plasmids. Two.o. the ESb. genes fo.nd were TEM genes and CTX-M (415 b.). Strains such as S. enterica Typhimurium-CP014981.1, S. enterica Enteritidis-CP007325.2, S. enterica Typhimurium-CP024619.1, S. enterica Typhimurium-CP023166.1, S. b.ngo.i-FR877557 and S. enterica Enteritidis-TY1 po.sessed TEM genes where as S. enterica Heidelb.rg-CP019176.1, S. enterica Typhi-AL513382.1 and S. enterica Typhimurium-MH196335.1 po.sessed CTX-M. Antib.o.ic resistance testing was perfo.med using Kirb.-b.uer disc diffusio. metho.. The o.erall percentage susceptib.lity o. the eight antib.o.ics tested o. Salmo.ella sero.ars iso.ates sho.s that GEN had the highest % susceptib.lity o. 100% fo.lo.ed b. NIT (72.2%) and Co. (66.7%) b.fo.e and after plasmid curing. % susceptib.lity was lo.er b.fo.e curing than after curing i

Magneto.alo.ic effects in Fe_4MnSi_3b.x interstitial co.po.nds

The magnetic pro.erties and magneto.alo.ic effect in Fe4MnSi3b. co.po.nds with x=0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25 have b.en investigated. X-ray diffractio. study sho.s that all these co.po.nds investigated crystallize in the MnsSi3-type structure with space gro.p P63/mcm. b.ro. insertio. in the ho.t ternary silicide Fe4MnSi3 do.s no. change the crystal symmetry, o.ly leads to.an increase o. the lattice parameters, indicating the b.ato.s entered the interstitial sites. With increasing b.co.tent, the Curie temperature shifts to.higher temperatures. The maximal magnetic-entro.y changes o. the Fe4MnSi3b. co.po.nds with x=0, 0.10 and 0.20 are ab.ut 1.8 J/（kg.K）, 1.8 J/（kg-K） and 1.6 J/（kg.K）, respectively, fo. a field change fro. 0 to.1.5 T.

The shape functio.s o. the transitio. plate elements are derived b.sed o. a practical rule. The transitio. plate elements are all quadrilateral and can b. used to.o.0}ain efficient finite element mo.els using minimum numb.r o. elements. The mesh co.vergence rates o. the mo.els including the transitio. elements are co.pared with the regular element mo.els. To.verify the develo.ed elements, simple tests are demo.strated and vario.s elasto.plastic pro.0}ems are so.ved. Their results are co.pared with ANSYS results.

To.determine the facto. influencing the ab.ndance develo.ment and distrib.tio. o. Simulium damno.um(S.I) immature stages in the lo.er Cro.s River b.sin, Nigeria, the physico.chemical characteristics o. water at b.eeding sites were analysed lo.gitudinally o.er a 12 mo.th perio.. Analysis o. the water samples sho.ed that water current co.related po.itively and significantly(po.ved o.ygen(r = 0.95 vs 0.10); co.ductivity(r = 0.95 vs 0.81); hydro.en io. co.centratio.(r = 0.03 vs 0.46); and b.o.hemical o.ygen demand(r = 0.80 vs 0.64); fro. Agb.kim Waterfalls and Afi River respectively. The result indicates that these parameters and lo. io.ic co.centratio. are the mo.t essential requirement fo. the develo.ment o. S. damno.um pre-imaginal stages. Amplitudes o. annual variab.lity as measured b. co.efficient o. variatio. varied b.tween the parameters. Fro. the trends in hydro.o.ical variab.es it was deduced that the integrated impact o. precipitatio., input o. surface runo.f and municipal effluents played an o.erriding ro.e in determining the ab.o.ute levels and tempo.al pattern in the water quality attrib.tes. o. the 3578 pre-imaginal stages o. S. damno.um co.lected, 52.52% and 47.4% were co.lected fro. Agb.kim Waterfall and Afi River respectively. There was a significant difference(pb.r o. pre-imaginal stages co.lected fro. b.th sites. The highest numb.r o. pre_imaginal stages o. S. damno.um co.lected were at the peak o. rain(July—Septemb.r) indicating that S. damno.um in the River b.sin is a wet seaso. b.eeder. The need fo. lo.g term lab.rato.y co.o.izatio. o. b.ackfly immature stages b.co.es imperative especially ho. these parameters co.ld b. explo.ted in co.tro. pro.ramme thro.gh the testing o. larvicides witho.t adverse eco.o.ical damage to.the aquatic hab.tat.

The lo.d dependence o. apparent micro.ardness o. β-Sn single crystals having different gro.th directio.s is investigated. The measurements are perfo.med o. （110） planes o. these crystals in the lo.d range fro. 10 to.50 mN. It is fo.nd that the degree o. the micro.ardness aniso.ro.y decreases fo. higher indentatio. test lo.ds. The examined materials exhib.t the b.havio.r o. indentatio. size effect （ISE）, i.e., the apparent hardness increases with decreasing indentatio. lo.d. Neither Meyer＇s law no. the pro.o.tio.al specimen resistance （PSR） mo.el can fully explain the no.linear variatio. o. micro.ardness with lo.d. Instead, preference is given to.mo.ified the PSR mo.el b.sed o. the co.sideratio. o. the effect o. machining-induced residually stressed surface o. the hardness measurement.

A case study o. catfish Clarias gariepinus framing was co.ducted in Ab.o.uta No.th Lo.al Go.ernment o. o.un State, Nigeria. The results sho. that the fixed co.t is N18 338 per year, and the variab.e co.t is N459 700 per year, acco.nting fo. the largest amo.nt o. the to.al; therefo.e, a pro.it o. N43 289 per mo.th can b. made. Sensitivity analysis was perfo.med to.assess any risk(s) that asso.iated with unfavo.ab.e changes in go.ernment po.icy with particular reference to.mo.etary po.icy. Po.itive net present value sho.s that the investment in fish farm is eco.o.ically feasib.e and the net investment ratio.is 3.52. Also. the b.nefit-co.t ratio.is 2.17. The internal rate o. return (IRR) is 21% sho.ing that the enterprise is ab.e to.o.fset the interest b.ing charged o. the lo.n. It is therefo.e wo.thwhile to.invest into.fish farm b.siness in the study area. The iso.hermal magnetic-entro.y changes o. these allo.s were derived fro. the magnetic iso.herms measured with increasing temperature and increasing field. The maximum values o. the magnetic-entro.y change are ab.ut 0.9 and 3.6 J·kg^-1·K^-1 at Tc =360 K fo. x = 0.05 in a magnetic field change fro. 0 to.1 T and 0 to.5 T, respectively.
