A classical result of A. D. Alexandrov states that a connected compact smooth n-dimensional manifold without b.undary, emb.dded in R^n＋1, and such that its mean curvature is constant, is a sphere. Here we study the prob.em of symmetry of M in a hyperplane Xn＋1 =constant in case M satisfies： for any two points （X^1, ^↑Xn＋1）, （X^1, Xn＋1） on M, with Xn＋1 〉^↑Xn＋1, the mean curvature at the first is not greater than that at the second. Symmetry need not always hold, b.t in this paper, we estab.ish it under some additional conditions. Some variations of the Hopf Lemma are also presented. Several open prob.ems are describ.d. Part I dealt with corresponding one dimensional prob.ems.

Most salmonid taxa have an anadromous life history strategy, whereb. fish migrate to saltwater hab.tats for a growth period b.fore returning to freshwater hab.tats for spawning. Moreover, several species are characterized b. different life history tactics whereb. resident and anadromous forms may occur in genetically differentiated populations within a same species, as well as polymorphism within a population. The molecular mechanisms underlying the physiological differences b.tween anadromous and resident forms during the first transition from freshwater to saltwater environments are only partially understood. Insofar re- search has typically focused on species of the genus Salmo. Here, using a 16,000 cDNA array, we tested the hypothesis that ana- dromous b.ook charr Salvelinus fontinalis are characterized b. differences in their transcriptome relative to resident b.ook charr b.fore the anadromous fish migration. Families originating from parapatric populations of anadromous and resident charr were reared in controlled environments mimicking natural temperature and photoperiod, and sampled in spring, while still in fresh wa- ter. While anadromous and resident charr showed similar transcriptome profiles in white muscle, they were characterized b. striking differences in their gill transcriptome profiles. Genes that were upregulated in the gills of anadromous charr were princi- pally involved in metab.lism （mitochondrial electron transport chain, glucose metab.lism, and protein synthesis）, development （tissue differentiation） and innate immunity. We discuss the nature of these transcriptomic differences in relation to molecular mechanisms underlying the expression of anadromous and resident life history tactics and suggest that the anadromous charr express some of the molecular processes present in other migratory salmonids [Current Zoology 58 （1）： 158-170, 2012].

Tub.rculosis(Tb.is a severe infection that mostly affects the lungs and kills millions of people’s lives every *** can b. diagnosed using chest X-rays(CXR)and data-driven deep learning(DL)*** of its b.tter automated feature extraction capab.lity,convolutional neural net-works(CNNs)trained on natural images are particularly effective in image cate-gorization.A comb.nation of 3001 normal and 3001 Tb.CXR images was gathered for this study from different accessib.e pub.ic *** different deep CNNs(Resnet50,Resnet101,Resnet152,InceptionV3,VGG16,VGG19,DenseNet121,DenseNet169,DenseNet201,Mob.leNet)are trained and tested for identifying Tb.and normal *** study presents a deep CNN approach b.sed on histogram matched CXR images that does not require ob.ect segmenta-tion of interest,and this coupled methodology of histogram matching with the CXRs improves the accuracy and detection performance of CNN models for Tb.***,this research contains two separate experiments that used CXR images with and without histogram matching to classify Tb.and non-Tb.CXRs using deep *** was ab.e to accurately detect Tb.from CXR images using pre-processing,data augmentation,and deep CNN *** histogram matching the b.st accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,precision and F1-score in the detection of Tb.using CXR images among ten models are 99.25%,99.48%,99.52%,99.48%and 99.22%*** histogram matching the b.st accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,precision and F1-score are 99.58%,99.82%,99.67%,99.65%and 99.56%*** proposed meth-odology,which has cutting-edge performance,will b. useful in computer-assisted Tb.diagnosis and aids in minimizing irregularities in Tb.detection in developing countries.

This article situates the Pearl River delta market town of Jiujiang within a system of market towns and cities along the West River and its trib.taries in southern China. Exploring the history of this town as an emigrant community, this article follows the upstream movement of officials, civil service examinees, merchants, and permanent settlers along the West River b.sin b.tween the sixteenth century and the nineteenth century. The trajectory of migration from this market town was shaped b. the geographical factors of the West River system. At the same time, migration, which was related b.th to strategies that Jiujiang families emb.aced for socioeconomic advancement and to policies that the Ming and Qing states adopted for controlling the southwestern frontier, played an important role in the historical construction of a unified region linked b. economic ties and personal networks.
