The entropy generation and heat transfer characteristics of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) third-grade fluid flow through a vertical porous microchannel with a convective b.undary condition are analyzed. Entropy generation due to flow of MHD non-Newtonian third-grade fluid within a microchannel and temperature-dependent viscosity is studied using the entropy generation rate and Vogel's model. The equations describ.ng flow and heat transport along with b.undary conditions are first made dimensionless using proper non-dimensional transformations and then solved numerically via the finite element method (FEM). An appropriate comparison is made with the previously pub.ished results in the literature as a limiting case of the considered prob.em. The comparison confirms excellent agreement. The effects of the Grashof numb.r, the Hartmann numb.r, the b.ot numb.r, the exponential space-and thermal-dependent heat source (ESHS/THS) parameters, and the viscous dissipation parameter on the temperature and velocity are studied and presented graphically. The entropy generation and the b.j.n numb.r are also calculated. From the comprehensive parametric study, it is recognized that the production of entropy can b. improved with convective heating and viscous dissipation aspects. It is also found that the ESHS aspect dominates the THS aspect.

The effect of non-linear convection in a laminar three-dimensional Oldroyd-b.fluid flow is addressed. The heat transfer phenomenon is explored b. considering the non-linear thermal radiation and heat generation/ab.orption. The b.undary layer as- sumptions are taken into account to govern the mathematical model of the flow analy- sis. Some suitab.e similarity variab.es are introduced to transform the partial differen- tial equations into ordinary differential systems. fifth-order techniques with the shooting method The Runge-Kutta-Fehlb.rg fourth- and are used to ob.ain the solutions of the dimensionless velocities and temperature. The effects of various physical parameters on the fluid velocities and temperature are plotted and examined. A comparison with the exact and homotopy perturb.tion solutions is made for the viscous fluid case, and an excellent match is noted. The numerical values of the wall shear stresses and the heat transfer rate at the wall are tab.lated and investigated. The enhancement in the values of the Deb.rah numb.r shows a reverse b.havior on the liquid velocities. The results show that the temperature and the thermal b.undary layer are reduced when the non- linear convection parameter increases. The values of the Nusselt numb.r are higher in the non-linear radiation situation than those in the linear radiation situation.

In the present article a numerical analysis has b.en carried out to study the b.undary layer flow b.havior and heat transfer characteristics of a nanofluid over an exponential stretching sheet. b. assuming the stretching sheet to b. impermeab.e, the effect of chemical reaction, thermal radiation, thermopherosis, b.ownian motion and suction parameters in the presence of uniform magnetic field on heat and mass transfer are addressed. The governing system of equations is transformed into coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations using suitab.e similarity transformations. The transformed equations are then solved numerically using the well known Runge-Kutta-Fehlb.rg method of fourth-fifth order. A detailed parametric study is performed to access the influence of the physical parameters on longitudinal velocity, temperature and nanoparticle volume fraction profiles as well as the local skin-friction coefficient, local Nusselt numb.r and the local Sherwood numb.r and the results are presented in b.th graphical and tab.lar forms.
