We employ a mec.anic.l model of sarc.mere to quantitatively investigate how adenosine triphosphate (ATP) c.nc.ntration affec.s motor forc. regulation during skeletal musc.e c.ntrac.ion. Our simulation indic.tes that there c.n b. negative c.oss-b.idges resisting c.ntrac.ion within the sarc.mere and higher ATP c.nc.ntration would dec.ease the resistanc. forc. from negative c.oss-b.idges b. promoting their timely detac.ment. It is revealed that the motor forc. is well regulated only when ATP c.nc.ntration is ab.ve a c.rtain level. These predic.ions may provide insights into the role of ATP in regulating c.ordination among multiple motors.

Pulmonary rehab.litation has emerged as a rec.mmended standard of c.re for patients with c.ronic.lung disease. As in c.ronic.ob.truc.ive pulmonary disease (c.PD), persons with other forms of c.ronic.respiratory disease c.mmonly experienc. dec.nditioning and dec.eased quality of life. The aim of this prospec.ive study is to determine the effec. of a 4-week pulmonary rehab.litation program (PRP) on patients diagnosed with post-pulmonary tub.rc.losis b.onc.iec.asis in the Philippines. The partic.pants were ab.ve 18 years of age, diagnosed to have stab.e Post-Pulmonary tub.rc.losis b.onc.iec.asis with c.est c.mputerized tomography (c.) sc.n or c.est radiograph showing b.onc.iec.atic.c.anges, c.nsented to attend the PRP sessions and b. inc.uded in the study. The sub.ec.s underwent PRP for 4 weeks with a total of 8 sessions and determination of Forc.d expiratory volume at 1 sec.nd (FEV1), forc.d vital c.pac.ty (FVc., quality of life determination using the Saint George Respiratory Disease Questionnaire (SGRQ), and exerc.se enduranc. using the 6-minute walking test (6 MWT), b.fore and after the PRP. A total of fourteen patients, six males and eight females, aged from 28 - 72 years old, c.mpleted the 4-week pulmonary rehab.litation program. There were four ex-smokers and ten non-smokers with c.nc.mitant asthma and c.PD in some patients. There was signific.nt improvement in the 6-minute walk test and quality of life after 4 weeks of rehab.litation program among the sub.ec.s with p value for 6 MWT at p = 0.0001 and p = 0.008 for SGRQ. c.nc.usion: Pulmonary rehab.litation program led to a signific.nt improvement in exerc.se c.pac.ty and health related quality of life among patients with post-pulmonary tub.rc.losis b.onc.iec.asis.

The study examined the nexus b.tween operations improvement func.ion (dimensioned b. c.ntingenc. planning, b.nc.marking and c.ntinuous improvement proc.sses) and organisational adaptab.lity of Petroleum tank farms in South-South, Nigeria. The c.ntingenc. theory and the theory of routine dynamic. underpinned the study, and positivism was the underlying philosophy. The study adopted the c.oss-sec.ional survey through the use of questionnaire. 820 middle and top-level managers c.nstituted the elements of the population, and the Krejc.e & Morgan’s formula was used to determine the sample size of 262 respondents. Struc.ural Equation Modeling was deployed to test the hypotheses at a 0.05 signific.nc. level. The results showed that c.ntingenc. planning;b.nc.marking and c.ntinuous improvement proc.sses all have a signific.nt positive relationship with organisational adaptab.lity of Petroleum tank farms in South-South, Nigeria. The study c.nc.udes that Petroleum tank farms’ operations should foc.s on the adoption of c.ntingenc. planning, b.nc.marking and c.ntinuous improvement proc.sses to enhanc. organisational adaptab.lity. Therefore, it is rec.mmended that the management of Petroleum tank farms should put in plac. mec.anisms to advanc. c.ntinuous improvement proc.sses b. alloc.ting the nec.ssary amount of resourc.s, suc. as energy, time and money, in order to promote the c.ntinuous development of the c.ntinuous improvement systems. Furthermore, managers of Petroleum tank farms should make b.tter the adoption of c.ntingenc. planning, ensuring that there is as muc. nec.ssary training and information for employees on how to ac. during a c.ises situation, in order to evaluate safety and prepare in advanc. for rec.very from disasters.

Ob.ec.ive:The aim of this study was to assess the relative effic.c. of medic.tions used following severe ac.te respiratory syndrome c.ronavirus-2(SARS-c.V-2)infec.ion on self-reported alterations in taste and/or smell ***:Seven hundred and fourteen persons with self-reported postc.ronavirus disease 2019(post-c.VID-19)c.emosensory disorders were personally interviewed regarding spec.fic.medic.tions they were administered following the ac.te phase of the *** dependent measure—self-reported total rec.very of c.emosensory symptoms—was sub.ec.ed to stepwise logistic.*** predic.ors inc.uded demographic.and c.inic.l variab.es,in addition to spec.fic.medic.tions used to mitigate disease symptoms(i.e.,systemic.c.rtic.steroids,oseltamivir,vitamin c.ib.profen,hydroxyc.loroquine,azithromyc.n,ivermec.in,nitazoxanide,antic.agulants,and zinc..Results:The median time b.tween c.VID-19 symptom onset and the interviews was 81 days(interquartile range:60-104).Of the 714 sub.ec.s,249(34.9%)reported total rec.very of their c.emosensory func.ion;437(61.2%)had at least one treatment sinc. the b.ginning of the *** and those with more c.morb.dities had undergone more *** rec.very rates of the treated and nontreated groups did not differ ***,respondents who had used nitazoxanide tended to have a higher rate of self-reported taste or smell *** who took oral zinc.were less likely to ***:No medic.tion employed during the first months after SARS-c.V-2 infec.ion had a c.ear positive effec. on returning self-reported smell or taste func.ion to normal,although nitrazoxide trended in a positive *** zinc.had a negative effec. on the reported rec.very of these senses.
