The vanadium redox flow battery(VRFb)has been receiving great attention in recent years as one of the most viable energy storage technologies for large-scale ***,higher concentrations of vanadium species are required in the H_(2)O-H_(2)SO_(4) electrolyte in order to improve the VRFb energy *** might lead to unwanted precipitation of vanadium compounds,whose nature has not been accurately characterized *** this purpose,this study reports the preparation ofⅤ^((Ⅱ)),ⅤV^((Ⅲ)),Ⅴ^((Ⅳ))andⅤ^((Ⅴ))supersaturated solutions in a 5 M H_(2)SO_(4)-H_(2)O electrolyte by an electrolytic method,from the only vanadium sulfate compound commercially available(VOSO_(4)).The precipitates obtained by ageing of the stirred solutions are representative of the solids that may form in a VRFb operated with such supersaturated *** solid phases are identified using thermogravimetric analysis,X-ray diffraction and *** report that dissolvedⅤ^((Ⅱ)),Ⅴ^((Ⅲ))andⅤ^((Ⅳ))species precipitate as crystals of VSO_(4),V_(2)(SO_(4))3 and VOSO_(4) hydrates and not in their anhydrous form;conversely V^((Ⅴ))precipitates as an amorphous V_(2) O_(5) oxide partially *** measured hydration degrees(respectively 1.5,9,3 and 0.26 mol of H_(2)O per mol of compound)might significantly affect the overall engineering of VRFb operating with high vanadium concentrations.

Purpose: To investigate the impact of residual astigmatism on visual acuity (VA) after the implantation of a novel extended range of vision (ERV) intraocular lens (IOL) based on the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration. Method: The study enrolled 411 patients bilaterally implanted with the ERV IOL Tecnis Symfony. Visual acuity and subjective refraction were analyzed during the 4- to 6-month follow-up. The sample of eyes was stratified for four groups according to the magnitude of postoperative refractive astigmatism and postoperative spherical equivalent. Results: The astigmatism analysis included 386 eyes of 193 patients with both eyes of each patient within the same cylinder range. Uncorrected VAs for distance, intermediate and near were better in the group of eyes with lower level of postoperative astigmatism, but even in eyes with residual cylinders up to 0.75 D, the loss of VA lines was clinically not relevant. The orientation of astigmatism did not seem to have an impact on the tolerance to the residual cylinder. The SE evaluation included 810 eyes of 405 patients, with both eyes of each patient in the same SE range. Uncorrected VAs for distance, intermediate and near, were very similar in all SE groups. Conclusion: Residual cylinders up to 0.75 D after the implantation of the Tecnis Symfony IOL have a very mild impact on monocular and binocular VA. The Tecnis Symfony IOL shows a good tolerance to unexpected refractive surprises and thus a better “sweet spot”.

background:Triple-negative breast cancer (TNbC), characterized by its lack of traditional hormone receptors and HER2, presents a significant challenge in oncology due to its poor response to conventional therapies. Autophagy is an important process for maintaining cellular homeostasis, and there are currently autophagy biomarkers that play an effective role in the clinical treatment of tumors. In contrast to targeting protein activity, intervention with protein-protein interaction (PPI) can avoid unrelated crosstalk and regulate the autophagy process with minimal interference pathways.Methods:Here, we employed Naive bayes, Decision Tree, and k-Nearest Neighbors to elucidate the complex PPI network associated with autophagy in TNbC, aiming to uncover novel therapeutic targets. Meanwhile, the candidate proteins interacting with beclin 2 were initially screened in MDA-Mb-231 cells using beclin 2 as bait protein by immunoprecipitation-mass spectrometry assay, and the interaction relationship was verified by molecular docking and CO-IP experiments after intersection. Colony formation, cellular immunofluorescence, cell scratch and 3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) tests were used to predict the clinical therapeutic effects of manipulating candidate PPI.Results:by developing three PPI classification models and analyzing over 13,000 datasets, we identified 3733 previously unknown autophagy-related PPIs. Our network analysis revealed the central role of beclin 2 in autophagy regulation, uncovering its interactions with 39 newly identified proteins. Notably, the CO-IP studies identified the substantial interaction between beclin 2 and Ubiquilin 1, which was anticipated by our model and discovered in immunoprecipitation-mass spectrometry assay results. Subsequently, investigations showed that overexpressing beclin 2 increased Ubiquilin 1, promoted autophagy-dependent cell death, and inhibited proliferation and metastasis in MDA-Mb-231 cells.

Arsenic trioxide(As2O3)is recently found to have therapeutic potential in systemic sclerosis(SSc),a life-threatening multi-system fibrosing autoimmune disease with type I interferon(IFN-I)*** activated plasmacytoid dendritic cells(pDCs)are responsible for IFN-I secretion and are closely related with fibrosis establishment in *** this study,we showed that high concentrations of As2O3 induced apoptosis of pDCs via mitochondrial pathway with increased bAX/bCL-2 ratio,while independent of reactive oxygen species ***,at clinical relevant concentrations,As2O3 preferentially inhibited IFN-αsecretion as compared to other cytokines such as TNF-α,probably due to potent down-regulation of the total protein and mRNA expression,as well as phosphorylation of the interferon regulatory factor7(IRF7).In addition,As2O3 induced a suppressive phenotype,and in combination with cytokine inhibition,it down-regulated pDCs’capacity to induce CD4+T cell proliferation,Thl/Th22 polarization,and b cell differentiation towards ***,chronically activated pDCs from SSc patients were not resistant to the selective IFN-αinhibition,and regulatory phenotype induced by ***,our data suggest that As2O3 could target pDCs and exert its treatment efficacy in SSc,and more autoimmune disorders with IFN-I signature.

Impact of the Housing on the Air Flow and the Thermal behavior of an Automotive Clutch System

New directives and increasing competition push automakers to get better performances (engine power increase), along with mass and size reduction (consumption). These evolutions lead to an increase of the thermal solicitations undergone by the automotive clutches whereas their weight must be decreased, as it is one of the main influent factors on CO2 emissions. Previous studies only focused on the air flow created by the clutches, but none of them have shown the impact of the clutch housing on the cooling of the clutch parts. In order to determine the influence of the clutch housing on the thermal behavior of automotive clutch systems, a numerical study has been performed on a simplified model of a clutch system. A parametric variation has been performed on the clutch housing size in order to evaluate its impact on the flow and the thermal behavior of clutches. The results show that clutch housing has a significant impact on the air flow and the thermal behavior of clutches. Thermal tests on real clutches with and without clutch housing have confirmed these results.
