The basic partial differential equations relevant for convection-diffusion and convection-diffusion-wave phenomena arc presented and solved analytically by using the MAPLE symbolic computer algebra system. The possible general nonlinear character of the constitutive equation of the convection-discussion process is replaced by a direct posteriori stochastic refinement of its solution represented for Dirichlet-type boundary conditions. A thermodynamic analysis is performed for connecting the relaxation time constants and Jacobi-determinants of deformations at transient transport processes. Finally, a new procedure for general description of coupled transport processes on the basis of the formalism originally developed for convection-free phenomena is presented by matrix analysis methods in the Fourier space.

We investigated erosion-corrosion(E-C) and its mitigation on the internal surface of the expansion segment of N80 steel tube in a loop system using array electrode technique, weight-loss measurement, computational-fluid-dynamics simulation, and surface characterization *** results show that high E-C rates can occur at locations where there is a high flow velocity and/or a strong impact from sand particles, which results in different E-C rates at various ***, it can be expected that localized corrosion often occurs in such *** E-C rate at each location in the expansion segment can be significantly mitigated with an imidazoline derivative inhibitor, as the resulting inhibitor layer significantly impedes the electrochemical reaction ***, we found that this inhibitor layer could not effectively reduce the difference in the erosion rates at different locations on the internal surface of the expansion *** means that localized corrosion can still occur at the expansion segment despite the presence of the inhibitor.

Global Response to Tropical Diabatic Heating Variability in boreal Winter

Global teleconnections associated with tropical convective activities were investigated, based on monthly data of 29 Northern Hemisphere winters： December, January, February, and March （DJFM）. First, EOF analyses were performed on the outgoing longwave radiation （OLR） data to characterize the convective ac tivity variability in the tropical Indian Ocean and the western Pacific. The first EOF mode of the convective activity was highly correlated with the ENSO. The second EOF mode had an east–west dipole structure, and the third EOF mode had three convective activity centers. Two distinct teleconnection patterns were identified that were associated, respectively, with the second and third EOF modes. A global primitive equation model was used to investigate the physical mechanism that causes the global circulation anoma lies. The model responses to anomalous tropical thermal forcings that mimic the EOF patterns matched the general features of the observed circulation anomalies well, and they were mainly controlled by linear processes. The importance of convective activities in the tropical Indian Ocean and western Pacific to the extended and longrange forecasting capability in the extratropics is discussed.

Neuroimmunology is emerging as a pivotal field,shedding light on the intricate dialogues between the central nervous system(CNS)and the immune *** exploration is particularly significant in understanding microglia,the CNS’s innate immune cells,beyond the conventional conflation of“neuroinflammation”and“microglial activation.”This conflation has clouded the true complexity of these processes,potentially stalling scientific progress and the development of new *** challenge the long-standing perspectives that have oversimplified these interactions,advocating for a deeper exploration of the dynamic relationship between neuroinflammation and microglial *** dissecting specific molecular pathways,we aim to illuminate their elaborate roles in neuroinflammatory responses,especially in the context of Alzheimer’s disease(AD).Here,neuroinflammation is not merely a passive observer or a direct antagonist but a complex agent in the disease’s *** article calls for a significant paradigm shift towards an integrative,multi-omics approach to *** such a comprehensive framework is crucial for advancing our understanding of neuroinflammatory conditions and paving the way for targeted therapeutic strategies for brain diseases.

Three research papers were published recently to compare the virological properties of the Omicron variant with the earlier variants of concern(VOC).1,2,3 The SARS-CoV-2 b.1.1.529 variant,Omicron,was first detected in South Africa in October 2021 and has spread rapidly;within three months,it appeared in more than 87 countries.4 During the surveillance of the epidemiological data and mutations of earlier COVID-19 variants and Omicron,significant differences were revealed mainly in the reproduction rate and hospitalization.

There is a need to standardize methods associated with the dispersion of nanomaterials in nano（eco）toxicological investigations. The first step toward this goal is to understand the degree of variability that exists in nanomaterial dispersions prepared by using different protocols. Using two case studies, the degree of variability in TiO2 nanomaterial dispersions was assessed by differential centrifugal sedimentation （DCS） methods. Case study 1 addresses the variability that arises from variations within one protocol, investigating the effects of dispersion aging, sonication exposure time, sonication in the presence/absence of an ice bath, material subsampling, particle concentration and having a pre-wetting step. Case study 2 addresses the variability between four different protocols developed through past research activities and projects. The results indicate that there is a large degree of variability （relative standard deviation （RSD） of mean particle diameter = 26%） in the dispersion ofTiO2 nanornaterials between the four different protocols studied and that several steps in a dispersion protocol are potential sources of variation, with final particle concentration being the most significant. The implication of this study is clear： for the purpose of data comparability, there is a need to provide the exact details of all steps involved in a dispersion protocol.

The Ejina( Gaxun Nur) basin-enclosed by the Tibetan Plateau in the south and the Gobi Altay in the north hascontinuously evolved as a strong continental endorheic depositional environment. Medium scale geomorphological mappingby Landsat- and Corona-Images as well as SRTM-topographic data, combined with field-surveys and geophysicalinvestigation provides evidence for tectonic impact on sedimentary processes during the Late *** of SRTM-Data and Landsat-Images reveal a system of up to 20m high inverted channels developed on theinactive eastern part of the large Hei river drainage delta south of the ancient lake Juyanze. The complex evolution of theselandforms requires a relative lowering of the lake basin at least two times since the last 40ka. A 26m high cliff section ofgravel-covered lake sediments within the Juyanze paleolake indicates a strong subsidence of the lake bottom of 10m/1000yrssince 18kab. *** of Ejina river oasis a distinct north-south striking scarp up to 13m high constitutes the eastern margin of theGaxun Nur. Palaeodrainage channels derived from the Gobi Altay. They display a sinistral offset of some decametres alonga set of WE-trending faults. The rhombic shape of the modern dry Gaxun Nur, fossil cliffs,well preserved beach ridges alongthe margins of the palaeolake system as well as gravel covered topsets of lacustrine sediments indicate local displacements ofmorphological features. The displacements of lake sediments at the southern margin of the modern Gaxun Nur basin imply asubsidence of at least 0.81m/1000 yrs since 25kab. P. as a result of a pull-apart development due to the left stepping faultsin a sinistral system.

We present the first herpetological checklist for the Kulen Promtep Wildlife Sanctuary in northern Cambodia, with records of 22 species of amphibians and 33 species of reptiles belonging to 44 genera in 22 families. The checklist includes three species （Ingerophrynus macrotis, Micryletta inornata, Scincella melanosticta） which in Cambodia were formerly only known to occur in the Cardamom Mountains in the southwest of the country. Our findings highlight the importance of countrywide herpetological baseline surveys in lowland habitats.
