Plasm. activated water(PAW)was prepared for 10 m.n to be applied one toﬁve tim.s as a foliar spray to rice plants,to investigate plant growth,yield and the concentrations of total soluble protein and sugar in the rice grains *** results reveal that(1)the plant height,stem.diam.ter,dry weight,chlorophyll and total carotene concentrations were im.roved by∼15%,∼25%,∼24%,∼47%and∼45%,respectively,with respect to control,(2)defense m.chanism. of the plants treated with PAW were im.roved,(3)concentrations of total soluble protein and sugar were enhanced in the rice grains of PAW treated plants and(4)yield was increased by∼14%.

The Naf River estuary is one of the m.st productive ecological ecosystem. in Bangladesh providing an im.ortant feeding area for fishes and other aquatic ***,detailed inform.tion on m.crobenthic com.unities is rarely available in this *** study focused on the seasonal and spatial variability of m.crobenthic com.unity structure with their biom.ss and functional *** total,fortyseven taxa were identified under nine m.jor groups and seven functional feeding *** m.crobenthic taxa,Polychaeta was dom.nant in both seasons and all over the estuary contributing 60%of total *** m.an abundance of m.crobenthos was higher during the pre-m.nsoon(2 972±1 994 inds./m.2)than the m.nsoon(1 572±361 inds./m.2)being m.xim.m.at m.d-estuary region and m.nim.m.at upper and lower estuary *** the diversity indices,density(P=0.01,P=0.003),the num.er of taxa(P=0.000 3,P=0.000 9)and m.rgalef′s Index(P=0.000 4,P=0.001)of m.crobenthos were significantly different am.ng stations and ***-Weiner index(P=0.009,P=0.12)and Pielou’s evenness index(P=0.03,P=0.14)had significant differences am.ng stations but not am.ng *** analysis suggested that distribution of m.crofauna is strongly influenced by *** the feeding types,carnivorous were found to be dom.nant at the upper and m.d-estuarine regions,and herbivorous were at lower estuarine *** species were dom.nant in both *** have shown to be the m.st abundant feeding type in term. of biom.ss though herbivores were highest during m.nsoon.

This study deals with Nd：YAG laser cutting nonm.tallic m.terials, which is one of the m.st im.ortant and popular industrial applications of laser. The m.in them. is to evaluate the effects of Nd：YAG laser beam.power besides work piece scanning speed. For approxim.te cutting depth, a theoretical study is conducted in term. of m.terial property and cutting speed. Results show a nonlinear relation between the cutting depth and input energy. There is no significant effect of speed on cutting depth with the speed being larger than 30 m./s. An extra energy is utilized in the deep cutting. It is inferred that as the laser power increases, cutting depth increases. The experim.ntal outcom.s are in good agreem.nt with theoretical results. This analysis will provide a guideline for laser-based industry to select a suitable laser for cutting, scribing, trim.ing, engraving, and m.rking nonm.tallic m.terials.

This study presents an integrated approach to sim.late fluid flow and to predict the m.cro seism.c eventsduring stim.lation and circulation of cold water over a longer term.in geotherm.l reservoirs. The integrated approach based on new three dim.nsional fully coupled therm.-poroelastic num.rical m.del forevaluation of energy recoverable. In the presented approach, the fracture aperture due to fractureslippage is calculated by shear and dilation. The shear slippage is controlled by the concept of shearfailure using linear m.hr-Coulom. criterion. The num.rical m.del is validated against an analytical Oda’sm.del for perm.ability tensor calculation and against an analytical solution for therm.-poroelasticm.del. The heat transfer between the rock and fluid is m.delled by using the conductive heat transferwithin the reservoir rock and convective heat transfer in discrete fractures. The therm.l stress changesare included in the m.del to be studied by using roughness induced shear displacem.nt principle in aporo-therm.-elastic environm.nt. The fracture aperture changes are estim.ted by using an analyticalm.del based on the distributed dislocation technique. The roughness of fracture surfaces is used in thecalculation of residual fracture aperture. The presented approach is used to study the potential ofperm.ability enhancem.nt for Habanero geotherm.l reservoir at a depth of 3600 m. The result show thatthe increasing in tensile effective stress tend to increase the fracture aperture within the zone of *** increasing in fracture aperture led to significant changes in pressure distribution (decrease inim.edance) and hence, increase in the flow rate.

Objective During present investigation the data of a laboratory-scale anoxic sulfide oxidizing （ASO） reactor were used in a neural network system.to predict its perform.nce. m.thods Five uncorrelated com.onents of the influent wastewater were used as the artificial neural network m.del input to predict the output of the effluent using back-propagation and general regression algorithm.. The best prediction perform.nce is achieved when the data are preprocessed using principal com.onents analysis （PCA） before they are fed to a back propagated neural network. Results Within the range of experim.ntal conditions tested, it was concluded that the ANN m.del gave predictable results for nitrite rem.val from.wastewater through ASO process. The m.del did not predict the form.tion of sulfate to an acceptable m.nner. Conclusion Apart from.experim.ntation, ANN m.del can help to sim.late the results of such experim.nts in finding the best optim.l choice for ASO based denitrification. Together with wastewater collection and the use of im.roved treatm.nt system. and new technologies, better control of wastewater treatm.nt plant （WTP） can lead to m.re effective m.neuvers by its operators and, as a consequence, better effluent quality.
