Oxidative stress has been identified as one of the factors that affects fertility status. Therefore, this study sought to investigate the inhibitory effect of aqueous extract of Moringa oleifera and Newbuoldia laevis leaves on FeSO4 and Sodium Nitroprusside (SNP) induced lipid peroxidation in rat testes in vitro. Incubation of the testes tissue homogenate in the presence of FeSO4 and SNP caused a significant increase in the malondialdehyde (MDA) contents of the testes. The aqueous extract from both Moringa oleifera and Newbuoldia laevis leaves caused a significant decrease in the MDA contents of the testes in a dose-dependent manner. However, aqueous extract from Moringa oleifera leaf (EC50 = 0.29 mg/ml) had a significant (P2+ induced lipid peroxidation in the rat testes homogenate than that of Newbuoldia laevis leaf extract (EC50 = 0.58 mg/ml);while there was no significant (P2+ chelating and reducing power. Therefore, these plants have potential to prevent oxidative stress in testes and improve fertility outcomes.

In this paper,new four fifth-order fractional nonlinear equations are derived and *** frac-tional terms are defined in the conformable sense and these equations are then solved using two effective methods,namely,the sub-equation and the generalized Kudryashov *** methods were tested on the proposed models and succeeded in finding new solutions with different values of parameters.A graphical representation of some results is provided and proves the efficiency and applicability of the proposed methods for providing solutions with known physical *** methods are good candi-dates for solving other similar problems in the future.

The Kortewegde Vries(KdV)equation represents the propagation of long waves in dispersive media,whereas the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger(CNLS)equation depicts the dynamics of narrow-bandwidth wave packets consisting of short dispersive waves.A model that couples these two equations seems in-triguing for simulating the interaction of long and short waves,which is important in many domains of applied sciences and engineering,and such a system has been investigated in recent *** work uses a modified Sardar sub-equation procedure to secure the soliton-type solutions of the generalized cubic nonlinear Schrödinger-Korteweg-de Vries system of *** various selections of arbitrary parameters in these solutions,the dynamic properties of some acquired solutions are represented graph-ically and *** particular,the dynamics of the bright solitons,dark solitons,mixed bright-dark solitons,W-shaped solitons,M-shaped solitons,periodic waves,and other soliton-type *** re-sults demonstrated that the proposed technique is highly efficient and effective for the aforementioned problems,as well as other nonlinear problems that may arise in the fields of mathematical physics and engineering.

Crude oil pollution in the Niger Delta, perpetrated by both local communities and industrial actors, has brought about soil pollution with its consequent ecological, human health and food challenges. The purpose of this research was to examine the concentration and distribution of heavy metals in soil from communities contaminated by crude oil in Niger Delta, and to evaluate the potential health risks to residents from exposure to these contaminants. To achieve this, soil samples were collected from the Ihwrekreka community and analyzed for heavy metal content using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The analytical results in mg/kg revealed a significant metals pollution level derived from the oil spill in the soil ranging from 4.85 - 17,078 (Cu), 1.01 - 16.1 (Cd), 0.22 - 36.8 (Cr), 8.28 - 40.9 (Ni), 7.51 - 6474 (Pb), and 8.84 - 12,851 (Zn) respectively. Most of the metals were above the permissible limits of World Health Organization, with Cu, Zn, and Pb as the most contaminating metals. Lead was found to be the main contributor to the hazard index (HI) values for both children and adults in the study area, with its concentration exceeding the permitted limits set by the WHO and the EC. The hazard index (HI) values of Pb, Cu, Zn, Cd, Ni, and Cr were significantly higher than 1. These findings suggest that the release of heavy metals from an oil-contaminated site may pose a risk to human health and the environment.

The escalating global concern over air pollution requires rigorous investigations. This study assesses air quality near residential areas affected by petroleum-related activities in Ubej. Community, utilizing Aeroqual handheld mobile multi-gas monitors and air quality multi-meters. Air sampling occurred on three distinct days using multi-gas monitors and meters, covering parameters such as CO, NO2, CH4, NH3, VOCs, Particulate Matter, Temperature, Relative Humidity, and Air Quality Index. Soil and plant samples were collected and analyzed for physicochemical and organic components. Air pollutant concentrations showed significant fluctuations. Carbon monoxide (CO) ranged from 0.00 to 3.22 ppm, NO2 from 0.00 to 0.10 ppm, CH4 from 4.00 to 2083 ppm, NH3 from 371 to 5086 ppm, and VOCs from 414 to 6135 ppm. Soil analysis revealed low total nitrogen, and undetected BTEX levels. Plant samples displayed a pH range of 7.72 to 9.45. CO concentrations, although below WHO limits, indicated potential vehicular and industrial influences. Fluctuations in NO2 and CH4 were linked to traffic, industrial activities, and gas flaring. NH3 levels suggested diverse pollution sources. The result in this study highlights the dynamic nature of air pollution in Ubej. community, emphasizing the urgent need for effective pollution control measures. Although CO concentrations were within limits, continuous monitoring is essential. Elevated NO2 levels gave information on the impact of industrial activities, while high CH4 concentrations may be associated with gas flaring and illegal refining. The study recommends comprehensive measures and collaborative efforts to address these complex issues, safeguarding both the environment and public health. This study shows the potential synergy between air quality sensors and plants for holistic environmental health assessments, offering valuable insights for environmental assessments and remediation endeavours. Crude oil spills have inflicted extensive disruption upon the Niger Delta ecosystem, resulting in crop loss and severe environmental damage. Such spills exacerbate heavy metal concentration within soil due to the presence of metallic ions. The Okpare-Olomu community has borne the brunt of crude oil pollution from illicit bunkering, sabotage, and equipment malfunction. This study targets an evaluation of ecological hazards linked to heavy metals (HMs) in crude oil impacted agriculturally soils within Okpare-Olomu in Ughelli South LGA of Delta State. In this study, 24 topsoil samples were obtained from areas affected by crude oil pollution;the heavy metal content was evaluated through atomic absorption spectrometry. The concentration ranges for HMs (mg/kg) in soil were: 24.1 - 23,174 (Cu);0.54 - 37.1 (Cd);9.05 - 54 (Cr);12 - 174 (Ni);18.5 - 8611 (Pb);and 148 - 9078 (Zn) at a soil depth of 0 - 15 cm. Notably, metal concentrations were recorded to be above permissible World Health Organization limits. Predominantly, Zn and Pb recorded higher heavy metal concentration when compared to other heavy metals analysed, notably at sampling points PT7 through PT24. Zinc and Pb contamination exhibited highly significant contamination factors, and contamination severity was evidenced across all sample points, signifying a grave risk level. Pollution load indices indicated pervasive extreme pollution levels. Geoaccumulation indices signaled moderate to strong pollution, mainly by Pb and Zn. Ecological risk assessments revealed variable levels of heavy metal contamination, from low to very high, with potential ecological risk reflecting markedly elevated levels. This study underscores the imperative for soil remediation to rectify ecological imbalances in agriculturally affected soil constituents.

The solution for phytoplankton-toxic phytoplankton-zooplankton system with qhomotopy analysis transform method(q-HATM)is *** proj.cted system exemplifies three components(namely,zooplankton,toxic-phytoplankton as well as phytoplankton)and the corresponding nonlinear ordinary differential equations exemplify the zooplankton feeds on *** proj.cted method is an amalgamation of q-homotopy analysis algorithm and Laplace transform and the derivative associated with the Atangana-Baleanu(AB)*** equilibrium points and stability have been discussed with the assistance of the Routh-Hurwitz rule in this work within the frame of generalized *** fixed-point theorem is employed to present the existence and uniqueness of the attained result for the considered model,and we consider five different initial conditions for the proj.cted ***,the physical nature of the achieved solution has been captured for fractional order,external force and diverse *** achieved consequences explicate that the proposed solution method is highly methodical,easy to implement and accurate to analyze the behavior of the nonlinear system relating to allied areas of science and technology.

This paper studied new class of integral equation called the Korteweg-de Vries-Kadomtsev-Petviashvili(KdV-KP)*** equation consist of the well-known fifth-order KdV equation in the context of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili *** newly gathered class of sixth-order KdV-KP equation is studied using the sub-equation method to obtain several soliton-type solutions which consist of trigonometric,hyperbolic,and rational *** application of the sub-equation approach in this work draws attention to the outstanding characteristics of the suggested method and its ability to handle completely integrable ***,the obtained solutions have not been reported in the previous literature and might have significant impact on future research.

The generalized Riccati equation mapping method(GREMM)is used in this paper to obtain different types of soliton solutions for nonlinear Schrödinger equation with higher dimension that existed in the regimes of anomalous ***,we use the q-homotopy analysis method combined with the Laplace transform(q-HATM)to obtain approximate solutions of the bright and dark optical *** q-HATM illustrates the solutions as a rapid convergent *** addition,to show the physical behavior of the solutions obtained by the proposed techniques,the graphical representation has been provided with some parameter *** findings demonstrate that the proposed techniques are useful,efficient and reliable mathematical method for the extraction of soliton solutions.

The occurrence of distortion and over voltage at the Point of Common Coupling(PCC)of Renewable Distributed Generation(RDG)limits its penetration levels to the power system and the RDG integration is expected to play a crucial role in power system *** its penetrations to be sustained without disconnection from the system,there must be a solution to the voltage rise,distortion,unbalanced current and grid reactive power control strategy at *** is an IEEE-1547 requirement that RDG integration to the power system should be regulated at PCC to avoid disconnection from the network due to power quality *** integration must meet up with this specification to uphold power quality and avoid damage to the sensitive equipment connected at *** this paper,voltage rise,unbalanced current,reactive power and distortion are being managed at PCC while Distribution Network(DN)accepts more RDG penetration levels without violation of the IEEE and South Africa grid code *** Power Filter and Full Bridge Multi-Level Converter(FBMC)are considered to safeguard power quality to the grid,they are modelled in MATLAB/SIMULINK and the results obtained shown that the proposed strategy can successfully regulate voltage rise,distortion,unbalanced current and continuously improve power quality with RDG integration at *** proposed method’s key innovation is the strategic generation and absorption of reactive power to curtain an overvoltage,reverse power flow,and distortion at the PCC,allowing more RDG penetration levels to the grid without disconnection while maintaining the standard requirement for power quality at the *** simulation outcomes validate the superiority of the FBMC over the active power filter with respect of reactive power generation/absorption,dynamic response,and damping capability.
