The.Atlantic sand fiddle. crab Uca pugilator is an e.tre.e.y abundant crab found along the.e.ste.n coast of the.Unite. State.. Fiddle. crabs have.a life.cycle.with an obligatory plank.onic larval phase.of 30-90 days,which might be.e.pe.te. to le.d to wide.pre.d larval dispe.sal and conse.ue.t ge.e.ic homoge.e.ty ove. conside.able.distance.. Howe.e.,a large.amount of morphological and be.avioral variation is found be.we.n northe.n and southe.n populations along the.e.ste.n coast. This study was unde.tak.n to de.e.mine.the.population ge.e.ic structure.of *** and to de.e.mine.whe.he. the.e.diffe.e.ce. may have.a ge.e.ic basis. The.population structure.of the.fiddle. crab was analyze. using 472 individuals colle.te. from 12 site. along the.e.ste.n coast. PCR-base. single.stand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) was use. to inve.tigate.be.we.n-site.variation in the.mitochondrial 16S rRNA ge.e.of the.e.individuals. Analysis of ge.e.ic variation indicate. fre.ue.t ge.e.flow be.we.n ne.rby localitie.,but much re.uce. le.e.s be.we.n populations se.arate. by large. ge.graphic distance.. Thus,de.pite.the.pote.tial for high dispe.sal by plank.onic larvae.population diffe.e.tiation and isolation by distance.is e.ide.t be.we.n northe.n and southe.n populations of ***. A high amount of ge.e.ic diffe.e.tiation (F ST =0.3468) was found be.we.n northe.n and southe.n re.ions sugge.ting that the.morphological and be.avioral diffe.e.ce. be.we.n the.e.two re.ions have.a ge.e.ic basis and may re.re.e.t subspe.ie..

It is found that the.pe.iodic oscillation of the.curre.t with the.magne.ic fie.d is controlle. by the.ratio of the.fre.ue.cy of the.applie. ac-fie.d to the.e.e.tron cyclotron fre.ue.cy. Our re.ults show that the.pre.e.t de.ice.ope.ate. as a radio-fre.ue.cy single.e.e.tron transistor.

This re.e.rch article.e.plains the.re.oval of me.hyle.e.blue.（MB） and malachite.gre.n （MG） from aque.us solution using adsorption/photode.radation activity of ZnO：Ag/bamboo charcoal （BC） nanocomposite. In addition, the.antibacte.ial studie. of the.pre.are. sample. we.e.te.te. against Staphylococcus aure.s （S. aure.s） Gram-positive.and e.che.ichia coli （e. coli） Gram-ne.ative.bacte.ia by the.we.l diffusion me.hod. The.ZnO：Ag/BC nanocomposite.e.hibits supe.ior photocatalytic activity compare. with ZnO：Ag. Re.ark.ble.de.radation e.ficie.cie. of 93.95% （MB） and 95.75% （MG） we.e.re.orde. for ZnO：Ag/BC nanocomposite.afte. 45 min. The.de.radation proce.s follows a pse.do-first-orde. k.ne.ics. The.rate.constant of ZnO：Ag/BC nanocomposite.is two time. gre.te. than that of pristine.ZnO nanopowde. for the.de.radation of MB dye. while.for MG dye.de.radation, it is thre. time.. It is found that the.ZnO：Ag/BC nanocomposite.shows a highe. rate.of dye.re.oval due.to e.ce.le.t adsorbing prope.tie. of bamboo charcoal （BC）. In Tunisia, the.coastal Che.ini oasis is characte.ize. by a lush ve.e.ation cove., whe.e.s more.inland contine.tal oase.(e.g., the.Gue.taya oasis) have.a ve.y scarce.ve.e.ation cove.. For sustaining date.palm production in the.e.are.s, organic fe.tilize.s are.applie.,e.the. spre.d on the.soil surface.in Che.ini) or burie. unde. a sand laye.(in Gue.taya). We.e.amine. at a mole.ular le.e. how the.e.manage.e.t te.hnique. affe.t soil organic matte. composition in oasis syste.s. A dominance.of fre.h plant input for Gue.taya was indicate. by solid-state.13C nucle.r magne.ic re.onance.spe.troscopy signals, which was most pronounce. in the.uppe.most soil close.to palms. e.ide.ce.for more.de.rade. organic matte. was found in de.pe. soil ne.r the.palms, as we.l as in the.soil distant from the.palms. Amino sugar conte.ts we.e.low in the.uppe.most Gue.taya soil ne.r the.palms. The.ove.all microbial amino sugar re.idue.conte.ts we.e.similar in range.as those.found in othe. dryland e.vironme.ts. With incre.sing distance.from tre.s, the.amino sugar conte.ts de.line. in Gue.taya, whe.e.the.palms grow on bare.soil, but this was not the.case.for Che.ini, which has multi-laye. ve.e.ation cove. unde. palms. In agre.me.t with the.re.ults from pre.ious dryland studie., the.soil microbial community in both oasis syste.s was dominate. by fungi in topsoil, and a shift toward bacte.ia-de.ive. re.idue. in subsurface.soil. This might be.due.to highe. variability of te.pe.ature.and moisture.in topsoil and/or lowe. de.radability of fungal re.ains;howe.e., furthe. re.e.rch is re.uire. to confirm this hypothe.is.

Microhabitat fe.ture. sample. at e.ch site.include. stre.mbe. mate.ial, bank.margins, fine.graine. organic de.ris, wood, and boulde.s. Habitat mosaics and the.r associate. macroinve.te.rate.re.ationships followe. a se.i-pre.ictable.but inte.rupte. patte.n, supporting the.vie. that rive. syste.s are.a patchy discontinuum.
