Multilevel resistive switching(RS)is a key property to embrace the full potential of memristive devices for non-volatile memory and neuromorphic computing *** this study,we employed nanoparticulated cobaltite oxide(co_(3)O_(4))as a model material to demonstrate the multilevel RS and synaptic learning capabilities because of its multiple and stable redox state *** Pt/co_(3)O_(4)/Pt memristive device exhibited tunable RS properties with respect to different voltages and compliance currents(cc)without the electroforming *** is,the device showed voltage-dependent RS at a higher cc whereas cc-dependent RS was observed at lower *** device showed four different resistance states during endurance and retention measurements and non-volatile memory results indicated that the cc-based measurement had less ***,we investigated the basic and complex synaptic plasticity properties using the analog current-voltage characteristics of the Pt/co_(3)O_(4)/Pt *** particular,we mimicked the potentiation–depression and four-spike time-dependent plasticity(STDP)rules such as asymmetric Hebbian,asymmetric anti-Hebbian,symmetric Hebbian,and symmetric antiHebbian learning *** results of the present work indicate that the cobaltite oxide is an excellent nanomaterial for both multilevel RS and neuromorphic computing applications.

Two-dimensional(2D)semiconducting materials and transition-metal oxides are promising materials for nonvolatile memory and brain-inspired neuromorphic computing ***,it remains chal-lenging to obtain high-quality stacked 2D films with low energy consumptions(or drive currents)be-cause of their high interfacial *** this study,we synthesized 2D Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)MXene-derived three-dimensional(3D)TiO_(2)nanoflowers(NFs)as a feasible resistive switching(RS)material with outstanding electronic properties and synaptic learning *** electrical and optical characteristics of the synthesized material were determined through density functional theory *** measure-ments of the Al/Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)-TiO_(2)NF/Pt memory device indicated the occurrence of forming-free switching phenomena with extremely low switching voltages(0.68-0.53 V),stable ON/OFF ratio(2.3×103),and retention greater than 105 *** Holt-Winters exponential smoothing technique was used for mod-eling and predicting the switching voltages of the RS *** mechanism underlying the reliable RS was confirmed by observing the dense conductive filaments through conductive atomic force ***,the 2D Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)MXene-derived 3D TiO_(2)NF-based RS device mimicked the po-tentiation/depression and spike-time-dependent plasticity of a biological ***,a convolutional neural network was implemented based on the observed synaptic weights of Al/Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)-TiO_(2)NF/Pt for image-edge detection.

This study evaluates the effectiveness of phase change materials(PcMs) inside a storage tank of warm water for solar water heating(SWH) system through the theoretical simulation based on the experimental model of *** et *** model is explained by five fundamental equations for the calculation of various parameters like the effectiveness of PcMs,the mass of hot water,total heat content,and duration of *** study simulated eleven PcMs to analyze their effectiveness like Sodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate(SHPD),OM 37,N-Eicosane(NE),Lauric acid(LA),Paraffin wax(PW),OM 48,Paraffin wax c_(20-33)(PW-c20-33),Sodium acetate trihydrate(SAT),Palmitic acid(PA),Myristic acid(MA),and Stearic acid(SA).Among all PcMs,the SHPD has found the highest value of effectiveness factor of ***,it is the most recommended PcM for the storage tank of the SWH *** study also includes the melt fraction analysis of all enumerated PcMs corresponding to container materials of stainless steel,glass,aluminum mixed,tin,aluminum,and *** melt fraction analysis is performed by making a coding program in the FORTRAN programming *** the analysis,copper container material is found to have high melting rate for all PcMs so it is superior to other container materials.

Nitration of Jharia basin coals,India:a study of structural modifications by XRD and FTIR techniques

Four coal samples from Jharia basin,India are treated with nitric acid in glacial acetic acid and aqueous media to find out the chemical,petrographic and spatial structure of the organic mass by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR)techniques.X-ray parameters of coal like interlayer spacing(d_(002)),crystallite size(L_(c)),aroamticity(f_(a)),average number of aromatic layers(N_(c)),and coal rank(I_(26)/I_(20))have been determined using profilefitting *** variation is observed in treated coals in comparison to the demineralized *** d_(002)values of treated coals have increased in both the media showing increase in disordering of organic moieties.A linear relationship has been observed between d_(002)values with the volatile matter of the ***,the d_(002)values show linear relationship with c_(dmf) contents for demineralized as well as for the treated coals in both the *** L_(c) and N_(c) values have decreased in treated coals corresponding to demineralized *** present study shows that nitration in both the media is capable of removing the aliphatic side chains from the coals and aromaticity(f_(a))increases with increase in rank and shows a linear relationship with the vitrinite *** corresponding I_(26)/I_(20)values are least for treated coals in glacial acetic acid medium followed by raw and then to treated coals in aqueous *** studies show that coal arenes of the raw coals are converted into nitro-arenes in structurally modified coals(SMcs)in both the media,the corresponding bands at 1550-1490 and 1355-1315 cm^(-1) *** study confirms that nitration is the predominant phenomenon,though,oxidation and nitration phenomena takes place simultaneously during treatment with nitric acid to form *** comparison to raw coals,the SMcs show higher aromaticity and may be easily converted to coal derived products like activated carbon and specialty carbon materials

This paper presents an investigation on depo- sition of Inconel-625 using laser rapid manufacturing （LRM） and plasma transferred arc （PTA） deposition in individual and tandem mode. LRM has advantages in terms of dimensional accuracy, improved mechanical properties, finer process control, reduced heat input and lower thermal distortion, while PTA scores more in terms of lower initial investment, lower running cost and higher deposition rate. To quantify the clubbed advantages and limitations of both processes, these were studied individually and in tandem. A number of samples were deposited at different process parameters like power, scan speed, powder feed rate. They were subjected to tensile test, adhesion-cohesion test, impact test and micro hardness measurement. The results of individual tests showed the comparable mechanical prop- erties with i20% variation. The mixed dendritic-cellular and dendritic-columnar microstructures were respectively observed for LRM and PTA deposits with a distinct inter- face for the case of tandem deposition. The interface strength of tandem deposits was evaluated employing adhesion-cohesion test, and it was found to be （325 i 35） MPa. The study confirmed the viability of LRM and PTA deposition in tandem for hybrid manufacturing.

Tandem repetitions in transcriptomes of some Solanaceae species

characterization of occurrence, density and motif sequence of tandem repeats in the transcribed regions is helpful in understanding the functional significance of these repeats in the modern genomes. We analyzed tandem repeats present in expressed sequences of thirteen species belonging to genera capsicum, Nicotiana, Petunia and Solanum of family Solanaceae and the genus coffea of Rubiaceae to investigate the propagation and evolutionary sustenance of these repeats. Tandem repeat containing sequences constituted 1.58% to 7.46% of sequences analyzed. Tandem repetitions of size 2, 15, 18 and 21 bp motifs were more frequent. Repeats with unit sizes 21 and 22 bp were also abundant in genomic sequences of potato and tomato. While mutations occurring in these repeats may alter the repeat number, genomes adjust to these changes by keeping the translated products unaffected. Surprisingly, in majority of the species under study, tandem repeat motif length did not exceed 228 bp. conserved tandem repeat motifs of sizes 180, 192 and 204 bp were also abundant in the genomic sequences. Our observations lead us to propose that these tandem repeats are actually remnants of ancestral megasatellite repeats, which have split into multiple repeats due to frequent insertions over the course of evolution.
