A high-rate capability carbon-encapsulated polyaniline(PANI)composite is fabricated by a novel electrodeposition method of polyaniline on a carbon nanotube(CNT)forest,grown on carbon *** is followed by coating of an amorphous carbon layer via hydrothermal carbonization(HTC)of glucose,forming a three-layer *** demonstrate that a slow scan rate,voltage-restricted electrodeposition process can be used to produce a uniform PANI coating on individual CNTs throughout the *** CNT forest structure offers excellent electronic and structural connection for the PANI nanofiber network,while the coating of amorphous carbon reduces electrode resistance,promoting enhanced electrochemical performance and reinforced structural stability during charging and *** as-prepared CNT/PANI/HTC composite exhibited a high specific capacitance of 571 F g-1 at 1 A g-1,and 557 F g-1 at 100 A g-1,whilst demonstrating a record rate capability of 98%capacitance retention,when the current density is increased *** advanced rate performance indicates that a slow electrodeposition process produces an electrochemically stable three-layer composite with enhanced diffusion ***,the method developed in this work establishes further control on the electrochemical deposition of energy storage materials,for high-rate capability.

Successful resection of metachronous para-aortic, Virchow lymph node and liver metastatic recurrence of rectal cancer

＜正＞A new method to create the galvanic corrosion-resistant carbon fiber-reinforced metal laminates （CFML） is developed in this paper. Aluminum alloy 2024-T3 is selected as the metal layer. A surface treatment technique combining a sulfuric acid anodizing with a hybrid sol-gel coating for the a-luminum alloy is developed to prevent CFML from galvanic corroding. Electrochemistry tests are conducted to evaluate the properties of electrochemistry of aluminum alloy treated by the present method. The test results prove that the combination of sulfuric acid anodizing and hybrid sol-gel coating can provide good protection against the galvanic corrosion in CFML. Next, aluminum alloy sheets and carbon fiber prepreg are stacked and cured in an autoclave to fabricate CFML. The cross-section of CFML is investigated by scanning electron microscope （ SEM ） and electron probe micro analyzer （ EPMA）. Good thin interlayer consisting of composite coating films are formed between aluminum alloy and carbon fiber-reinforced epoxy layer. Corrosion tests of CFML and aluminum alloy are conducted , the present CFML shown excellent corrosion resistance.

A 66-year-old female presented with the main complaint of defecation trouble and abdominal distention. With diagnosis of rectal cancer, c SS, c N0, c H0, c P0, c M0 c Stage Ⅱ, Hartmann's operation with D3 lymph node dissection was performed and a para-aortic lymph node and a disseminated node near the primary tumor were resected. Histological examination showed moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma, p SS, p N3, p H0, p P1, p M1(para-aortic lymph node, dissemination) f Stage Ⅳ. After the operation, the patient received chemotherapy with FOLFIRI regimen. After 12 cycles of FOLFIRI regimen, computed tomography(CT) detected an 11 mm of liver metastasis in the posteroinferior segment of right hepatic lobe. With diagnosis of liver metastatic recurrence, we performed partial hepatectomy. Histological examination revealed moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma as a metastatic rectal cancer with cut end microscopically positive. After the second operation, the patient received chemotherapy with TS1 alone for 2 years. Ten months after the break, CT detected a 20 mm of paraaortic lymph node metastasis and a 10 mm of lymph node metastasis at the hepato-duodenal ligament. With diagnosis of lymph node metastatic recurrences, we performed lymph node dissection. Histological examination revealed moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma as metastatic rectal cancer in paraaortic and hepato-duodenal ligament areas. After the third operation, we started chemotherapy with modified FOLFOX6 regimen. After 2 cycles of modified FOLFOX6 regimen, due to the onset of neutropenia and liver dysfunction, we switched to capecitabine aloneand continued it for 6 mo and then stopped. Eleven months after the break, CT detected two swelling 12 mm of lymph nodes at the left supraclavicular region. With diagnosis of Virchow lymph node metastatic recurrence, we started chemotherapy with capecitabine plus bevacizumab regimen. AIM: To evaluate the effectiveness of endoscopic submucosal dissection using an insulation-tipped diathermic knife (IT-ESD) for the treatment of patients with gastric remnant cancer. METHODS: Thirty-two patients with early gastric cancer in the remnant stomach, who underwent distal gastrectomy due to gastric carcinoma, were treated with endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) or ESD at Sumitomo Besshi Hospital and Shikoku Cancer Center in the 10-year period from January 1998 to December 2007, including 17 patients treated with IT-ESD. Retrospectively, patient backgrounds, the one-piece resection rate, complete resection (CR) rate, operation time, bleeding rate, and perforation rate were compared between patients treated with conventional EMR and those treated with IT-ESD. RESULTS: The CR rate (40% in the EMR group vs 82% in the IT-ESD group) was significantly higher in the IT-ESD group than in the EMR group; however, the operation time was significantly longer for the IT- ESD group (57.6 ± 31.9 min vs 21.1 ± 12.2 min). No significant differences were found in the rate of underlying cardiopulmonary disease (IT-ESD group, 12% vs EMR group, 13%), one-piece resection rate (100% vs 73%), bleeding rate (18% vs 6.7%), and perforation rate (0% vs 0%) between the two groups. CONCLUSION: IT-ESD appears to be an effective treatment for gastric remnant cancer post distal gastrectomy because of its high CR rate. It is useful for histological confirmation of successful treatment. Thelong-term outcome needs to be evaluated in the future.

A Low-Cost Active Control Multi-Fan Turbulence Wind Tunnel with an Embedded System to Generate Natural Wind

This paper describes a new actively controlled multi-fan wind tunnel that generates natural wind as a type of turbulence wind tunnel at a reduced cost. The driving section of the wind tunnel has 100 PC cooling fans that are controlled by an original embedded system. The fluctuating velocity wind is successfully generated with a mean velocity of 7 m/s and two turbulent intensities of 2% and 3% based on Karman’s power spectrum density function. The case of 2% has the integral scales of 5 m, 10m and 20 m, and the case of 3% has the integral scales of 3 m, 6 m and 15 m with a turbulence grid. In particular, the wind with the turbulent intensity of 2% satisfies the Kolmogorov’s -5/3 multiplication rule of inertial subrange with the frequency range from 0.01 Hz to 2.0 Hz. Consequently, the new wind tunnel can be used for studying engineering technology and research regarding conditions with natural wind.

Intraspecific Phylogenetic Relationships of Caryopteris incana in the Tsushima Islands, Japan, Using DNA Sequence Analysis

Caryopteris incana is a perennial shrub distributed in the temperate zone of the East Asia. It is found in West Kyushu in Japan, where it is designated as an endangered species. Tsushima, Nagasaki, which experienced repeated connection and fragmentation between the Korean Peninsula and Japan, is an island on the route along which C. incana moved to Japan from continental Asia. We conducted field work and confirmed the genetic structure of populations using DNA sequence analysis to construct a detailed distribution map and clarify the intraspecific phylogenetic relationships of C. incana in Tsushima Island. We confirmed 72 populations in Tsushima. Using the leaves of individuals cultivated from seeds collected from each natural population, we analyzed the chloroplast and nuclear DNA sequence variations. Among the populations, sequence variations were confirmed in six regions of chloroplast DNA, and six haplotypes, including base substitutions, were distinguished. Two haplotypes were mainly divided at the border of the northern part of the southern island in Tsushima. One population in the northwestern part of the north island showed a haplotype derived from the southern part. This finding revealed that the distribution of C. incana had been artificially influenced. Several haplotypes were confirmed by sequence variations in the northern populations, but only one haplotype in the southern populations, suggesting that C. incana on the north island had separated early from the south island in Tsushima.

Neointimal coverage of sirolimus-eluting stents 6 months and 12 months after implantation： evaluation by optical coherence tomography

Optical coherence tomography （OCT） is a new imaging modality with resolution of approximately 10 pm and can be employed to visualize intracoronary characteristics. Sirolimus-eluting stents （SES） are susceptible to late thrombosis due to delayed reendothelialization over the stent struts, which may result in acute myocardial infarction or death. This study was designed to evaluate the re-endothelialization and neointimal coverage of SES with OCT 6 months and 12 months after *** A total of 36 patients enrolled in the study underwent OCT examination 6 months （17 patients） and 12 months （19 patients） after SES implantation, The strut apposition to the vessel wall and neointimal coverage on SES struts were evaluated by OCT, Results Forty-six SES and 6561 struts were analyzed, At 6 months, 3041 struts （98.7%） were well-apposed and 39 struts （1,3%） were malapposed, At 12 months, 3434 struts （98,6%） were well-apposed and 47 struts （1,4%） were malapposed, Furthermore, only 4 SES at 6 months （18,2%） and 10 SES at 12 months （41,7%） were fully covered by neointimal growth, The average neointimal thicknesses covering the analyzed struts at 6 months and 12 months were （42±28） μm and （88±32） μm, respectively, There were 1989 struts at 6 months （72,1%） and 1461 struts at 12 months （45,6%） with neointimal thickness 〈100 μm, Conclusions OCT was able to visualize the strut apposition to the vessel wall and neointimal coverage on SES struts, At 6-month and 12-month follow-up examinations most struts were covered with thin neointima, but few of the entire SES showed full coverage. To prevent late-stent thrombosis in the presence of uncovered stent struts, longer dual antiplatelet drugs therapy should be recommended,

Identification of Angelica acutilobaand Related Species by Analysis of Inter- and Intra-Specific Sequence Variations in Chloroplast and Nuclear DNA Sequences

Japanese Angelica Root prepared from Angelica acutiloba var. acutiloba and A. acutiloba var. sugiyamae, known in Japan as “Toki” and “Hokkai Toki”, is an important crude drug used in Kampo medicine (traditional Japanese medicine). However, since these Angelica varieties have recently outcrossed with each other, it is unclear whether Japanese Angelica Root sold for use in Kampo medicine is a pure variety. Here, we describe DNA sequence polymorphisms that can be used to distinguish between A. acutiloba var. acutiloba and A. acutiloba var. sugiyamae. In our analyses, differences in the trnK region of chloroplast DNA distinguished among some A. acutiloba varieties and related species, but not between A. acutiloba var. acutiloba and A. acutiloba var. iwatensis. One geographical strain of A. acutiloba var. acutiloba and A. acutiloba var. sugiyamae showed identical sequences in three regions of chloroplast DNA, but differences in the internal transcribed spacer region of nuclear ribosomal DNA. One strain of A. acutiloba var. iwatensis and A. acutiloba var. sugiyamae had identical sequences in all of the chloroplast and nuclear ribosomal DNA regions examined. These findings show that A. acutiloba var. acutiloba has hybridized with A. acutiloba var. sugiyamae and that the “Hokkai Toki” variety resulted from outcrossing with A. acutiloba var. iwatensis. Molecular authentication based on analyses of chloroplast and nuclear ribosomal DNA sequences of A. acutiloba and related species is an efficient method to authenticate Japanese Angelica Root at the variety level. Therefore, these analyses can determine whether a product is derived from A. acutiloba var. acutiloba or A. acutiloba var. sugiyamae.

We study the ground state of an S=1/2 anisotropic a (≡Jz/Jxy) Heisenberg antiferromagnet with nearest (J1) and next-nearest (J2) neighbor exchange interactions on a triangular lattice using the exact diagonalization method. We obtain the energy, squared sublattice magnetizations, and their Binder ratios on finite lattices with N≤36 sites. We estimate the threshold J(t) 2 (a)?between the three-sublattice Néel state and the spin liquid (SL) state, and J(s) 2 (a)? between the stripe state and the SL state. The SL state exists over a wide range in the α-J2 plane. For α>1 , the xy component of the magnetization is destroyed by quantum fluctuations, and the classical distorted 120°structure is replaced by the collinear state.
