Particle breakage has a significant influence on the stress-strain and strength behavior of rockfill material.A breakage critical state theory(BCST)was proposed to describe the evolution of particle *** breakage critical state line in the breakage critical state theory was correlated with the breakage factor,which was fundamentally different from that of the original critical state theory.A simple elastoplastic constitutive model was developed for rockfill in the frame of *** associated flow rule was adopted in this ***,contractive and distortional hardening rules were suggested in view of the particle *** was observed that the proposed model could well represent the complex deformation behaviors of rockfill material,such as the strain hardening,post-peak strain softening,volumetric contraction,volumetric expansion,and particle breakage under different initial confining pressures.

Product testing is a key ingredient in maintaining the quality of a pro-duction *** production process is considered an efficient process if it is capable of quick identification of faulty *** items produced by any production process are usually packed and acceptance or rejection of the pack depends upon its conformity to some specified quality ***,the specified quality level is based upon the number of defective items found in the inspected number of *** decisions are based upon some rules and usually acceptance of the pack is based upon a fewer number of defective items in the *** questions can be answered by using acceptance sampling *** acceptance sampling plans assume the fact that the quality level of the item follows some probability *** sampling plans based upon some classical probability distributions are available but often it happens that the quality behavior of the product does not follow a simple probability model and hence the available sampling plans *** this paper,we have developed acceptance sampling plans when the product life follows a general Weibull *** sampling plans have been constructed by considering the crisp and fuzzy behavior of the acceptance *** sampling plans have been constructed by assuming an infinite lot *** has been found that the number of items required for inspection decreases with an increase in some parameters.

Understanding urban-scale building emissions is crucial for achieving net-zero *** study examined embodied and operational emissions in Jakarta from 2010 to 2022 using the bottom-up Building Stock Model(BSM)and analyzed building stocks across seven categories:apartments,offices,malls,hotels,education facilities,hospitals,and landed *** factors for construction materials,fuels,electricity,and cooking gas,along with occupancy rates,were included in the emissions *** findings reveal consistent growth in apartments,malls,and offices,with operational emissions significantly decreasing after the 2015 green building *** a declining share in Jakarta’s building stock,landed houses still account for over 40%of embodied and nearly 75%of operational *** around 80%of the population preferring to live in landed houses,their impact on emissions remains *** 2010,Jakarta’s building floor stock was 167 *** using simple linear regression suggest it could reach 268 km2 by *** forecasts using the Prophet Forecasting Model(PFM)suggest that by 2050,building emissions could return to 2010 levels if stricter regulations are consistently *** study underscores the necessity for continuous regulatory advancements and carbon offset initiatives to achieve net-zero emissions.

Modelling long-term deformation of granular soils incorporating the concept of fractional calculus

Many constitutive models exist to characterise the cyclic behaviour of granular soils but can only simulate deformations for very limited cycles. Fractional derivatives have been regarded as one potential instrument for modelling memory-dependent phenomena. In this paper, the physical connection between the fractional derivative order and the fractal dimension of granular soils is investigated in detail. Then a modified elasto-plastic constitutive model is proposed for evaluating the long-term deformation of granular soils under cyclic loading by incorporating the concept of fac- tional calculus. To describe the flow direction of granular soils under cyclic loading, a cyclic flow potential consider- ing particle breakage is used. Test results of several types of granular soils are used to validate the model performance.

Spectroscopic emission of lead plasma, generated by the fundamental （1064 nm） and second harmonics （532 nm） of a Q-switched pulsed Nd： YAG laser, is studied. The spectral lines of neutral atoms and singly ionized lead ions were shown predominantly. The profiles of neutral lead lines observed were used to extract the excitation temperature using Boltzmann plots, whereas electron number density was determined from the profile of Stark broadened line. The variations of excitation temperature and electron number density as a function of laser energy were studied.

Thulium-Doped Fiber Amplifier for Blue Light Signal Amplification

Fluoride-based thulium-doped visible light fiber amplifier(TmVLFA), which can be used to amplify the blue light signal for a visible light communication(VLC) system,is theoretically demonstrated for the first time according to the best of our knowledge. The transition rate equations and power propagation equations are solved to predict the dependence of the gain and noise figure on fiber parameters. The numerical results show that with the pump wavelength 1150 nm and pump power 800 mW, 2.75 m long thulium-doped fiber can amplify blue light(480 nm) signal up to 33.3 dB, and the noise figure is in the range from 3.0 to 3.5 dB. The model and numerical results encourage the use of fiber amplifier in VLC system for blue light amplification to extend the range of VLC.

The secondary structure of a protein is critical for establishing a link between the protein primary and tertiary *** this reason,it is important to design methods for accurate protein secondary structure *** of the existing computational techniques for protein structural and functional prediction are based onmachine learning with *** deep learning architectures have already been applied to tackle protein secondary structure prediction *** this study,deep learning based models,i.e.,convolutional neural network and long short-term memory for protein secondary structure prediction were *** input to proposed models is amino acid sequences which were derived from CulledPDB *** tuning with cross validation was employed to attain best parameters for the proposed *** proposed models enables effective processing of amino acids and attain approximately 87.05%and 87.47%Q3 accuracy of protein secondary structure prediction for convolutional neural network and long short-term memory models,respectively.

We studied the spatial evolution of the Fe-Ni plasma generated by the fundamental （1064 nm） and second （532 nm） harmonics of a Q-switched Nd： YAG laser. The experimentally observed line profiles of the neutral iron （Fe I） have been used to extract the plasma temperature （T e ） using the Boltzmann plot method, whereas the electron number density （N e ） has been deter- mined from the Stark broadening. In addition, we studied the spatial behavior of T e and N e with the variation of laser energy for iron plasma by placing the target material （iron-nickel alloy） in air at atmospheric pressure for both modes of the Nd： YAG laser.
