Aluminum alloys AA6061 reinforced with various amounts （0, 2.5% and 5%, mass fraction） of TiC particles were synthesized by the in situ reaction of inorganic salt K2TiF6 and ceramic particle siC with molten aluminum. The casting was carried out at an elevated temperature and held for a longer duration to decompose siC to release carbon atoms. X-ray diffraction patterns of the prepared AMCs clearly revealed the formation of TiC particles without the occurrence of any other intermetallic compounds. The microstructure of the prepared AA6061/TiC AMCs was studied using field emission scanning electron microscope （FEsEM） and electron backscatter diffraction （EBsD）. The in situ formed TiC particles were characterized with homogeneous distribution, clear interface, good bonding and various shapes such as cubic, spherical and hexagonal. EBsD maps showed the grain refinement action of TiC particles on the produced composites. The formation of TiC particles boosted the microhardness and ultimate tensile strength （UTs） of the AMCs.

AIM:To study the role of hepcidin in hereditary hyperferritinemia cataract syndrome(HHCs). METHODs:six patients from two families with HHCs, confirmed by genetic analysis showing A to G mutation at position+40 in the L-ferritin gene,were recruited to undergo serum hepcidin and prohepcidin measurements using radioimmunoassay and enzyme linked immunoassay,respectively,and measurements were compared with levels in serum from 25 healthy volunteers(14 females),mean age 36±11.9 ***:The serum hepcidin and prohepcidin levels in patients with HHCs were 19.1±18.6 and 187± 120.9 ng/mL,*** ferritin was 1716.3± 376μg/*** biopsy in one patient did not show any evidence of iron *** hepcidin and prohepcidin values in healthy controls(HCs)were 15.30±15.71 and 236.88±83.68 ng/mL,respectively,while serum ferritin was 110±128.08μg/*** was no statistical difference in serum hepcidin level between the two cohorts(19.1±18.6 ng/mL vs 15.30±15.71 ng/mL,P= 0.612)using two-tailed t-test. CONCLUsION:serum hepcidin levels in HHCs patients is similar to that in *** study suggests that circulating ferritin is not a factor influencing hepcidin synthesis and does not have a role in the iron-sensing mechanism in hepatocytes.

Genomic analysis has emphasized the enormous genetic contribution to autism spectrum disorders, with over 80% of patients having changes demonstrable by high resolution chromosome (microarray) analysis or whole exome sequencing. An overview of these genetic changes demonstrates the expected role of synaptic transmission in autism and, together with clinical observations, emphasizes the importance of visual input on developing sensory systems and social responses. Neonatal recognition of autism predisposition through genetic analysis could allow sensory stimulation therapies during periods of neuroplasticity, an approach analogous to strabismus correction before the cortical dissociation of the deviant eye.

As part of an effort to build a prototype flow battery system using a nano-suspension containing β-Ni（OH）2 nanoparticles as the cathode material, nano-sized β-Ni（OH）2 particles with well-controlled particle size and morphology were synthesized via the one-step precipitation of a NiCl2 precursor. The composition and morphology of the nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electronic microscopy （sEM） and X-ray diffraction （XRD）. The XRD patterns confirmed that β-Ni（OH）2 was successfully synthesized, while sEM results showed that the particle sizes range from 70 to 150 nm. To ensure that Ni（OH）2 could be employed in the nano-suspension flow battery, the electrochemical performance of the synthesized 13-Ni（OH）2 was initially tested in pouch cells through charge/discharge cycling. The phase transformations occurring during charge/discharge were investigated using in-situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy to obtain the shift in the oxidation state of Ni （X-ray adsorption near edge structure, XANEs） and the distances between Ni and surrounding atoms in charged and discharged states （extended X-ray absorption fine structure, EXAFs）. XANEs results indicated that the electrode in the discharged state was a mixture of phases because the edge position did not shift back completely. XAFs results further proved that the discharge capacity was provided by β-NiOOH and the ratio between β-Ni（OH）2 and γ-NiOOH in the electrode in the discharged state was 71：29. Preliminary nano-suspension tests in a lab-scale cell were conducted to understand the behavior of the nano-suspension during charge/discharge cycling and to optimize the operating conditions.

A foot bracket is a metal panel bracket used to mount and support the footrest in two-wheeler *** holds the footrest in place while rigidly supporting *** working conditions,this element has often been observed to fail when specific load-fluctuation conditions are established at its rear *** materials therefore need to be identified to overcome such a recurring *** address these issues,the present study has been implemented with the specific objective to determine the response of selected Al6061-T6 and Al7075-T6 Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites(HMMC).The results,obtained using the ANsYs software,show that the selected composites can withstand 636,962 N/m^(2)of maximum stress and 8.88×10^(−6)m of minimum *** results are also compared with relevant mathematical models and it is concluded that the identified material combination provides the required improvement of structural stability that can withstand the load fluctuation on the foot bracket.

Enhanced Field-Based Detection of Potato Blight in Complex Backgrounds Using Deep Learning

Rapid and automated identification of blight disease in potato will help farmers to apply timely remedies to protect their *** detection of blight disease can be cumbersome and may require trained *** overcome these issues,we present an automated system using the Mask Region-based convolutional neural network(Mask R-CNN)architecture,with residual network as the backbone network for detecting blight disease patches on potato leaves in field *** approach uses transfer learning,which can generate good results even with small *** model was trained on a dataset of 1423 images of potato leaves obtained from fields in different geographical locations and at different times of the *** images were manually annotated to create over 6200 labeled patches covering diseased and healthy portions of the *** Mask R-CNN model was able to correctly differentiate between the diseased patch on the potato leaf and the similar-looking background soil patches,which can confound the outcome of binary *** improve the detection performance,the original RGB dataset was then converted to HsL,HsV,LAB,XYZ,and YCrCb color spaces.A separate model was created for each color space and tested on 417 field-based test *** yielded 81.4%mean average precision on the LAB model and 56.9%mean average recall on the HsL model,slightly outperforming the original RGB color space *** analysis of the detection performance indicates an overall precision of 98%on leaf images in a field environment containing complex backgrounds.

A simple,rapid and sensitive ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry（UPLC-Ms/Ms） method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of cilostazol and its pharmacologically active metabolite 3,4-dehydro cilostazol in human plasma using deuterated analogs as internal standards（Iss）.Plasma samples were prepared using solid phase extraction and chromatographic separation was performed on UPLC BEH C18（50 mm × 2.1 mm.1.7 μm） *** method was established over a concentration range of 0.5-1000 ng/mL for cilostazol and 0.5-500 ng/mL for 3.4-dehydro ***- and inter-batch precision（%CV） and accuracy for the analytes were found within 0.93-1.88 and 98.8-101.7% for cilostazol and 0.91-2.79 and 98.0-102.7% for the metabolite *** assay recovery was within 95-97% for both the analytes and internal *** method was successfully applied to support a bioequivalence study of 100 mg cilostazol in30 healthy subjects.
