GitHub Actions, a popular CI/CD platform, introduces significant security challenges due to its integration with GitHub’s open ecosystem and its use of flexible workflow configurations. This paper presents sher, a Python-based tool that enhances the security of GitHub Actions by automating the detection and remediation of security issues in workflows. self-Hosted Ephemeral Runner, or sher, acts as a broker between GitHub’s APIs and a customizable, isolated environment, analyzing workflows through a static rules engine and automatically fixing identified issues. By providing a secure, ephemeral runner environment and a dynamic analysis tool, sher addresses common misconfigurations and vulnerabilities, contributing to the resilience and integrity of DevsecOps practices within software development pipelines.

The adoption of Docker containers has revolutionized software deployment by providing a lightweight and efficient way to isolate applications in data centers. However, securing these containers, especially when handling sensitive data, poses significant challenges. Traditional Linux security Modules (LsMs) such as sELinux and AppArmor have limitations in providing fine-grained access control to files within containers. This paper presents a novel approach using eBPF (extended Berkeley Packet Filter) to implement a LsM that focuses on file-oriented access control within Docker containers. The module allows the specification of policies that determine which programs can access sensitive files, providing enhanced security without relying solely on the host operating system’s major LsM.

The study focuses on the physico-chemical characteritics of the wild fruit Meyna laxiflora Robyns(Alu)and fruit powder,which was gathered from the Konkan region of Maharashtra Alu fruit powder is made by using a drying aid called maltodextrin(MD).Powder samples(MP1,MP2,MP3,MP4 and MP5)were made using different amounts of MD(05,10,15,2.0 and 2.5 g).Preliminary phytochemical screening of fnuit pulp and powder showed the presence of some phytoconstituents such as reducing sugar,saponin,flavonoids,and terpenoids,whereas akaloids,tannins,steroids and protein were absent in *** parameters of the powder are durectly infuenced by the amount of MD,as evidenced by the variations in bulk density,total soluble solids,pH,specific gravity and the proximate among the powder *** solubility was found in the sample with a medium of *** highest of particle distribution was found in MD-added samples MP2(1 g),MP3(1.5 g),MP4(2 g)whereas the raw(MPO)showed the *** analysis was done using 9-point hedonic scale,which revealed that MP2,MP3,and MP4 were highly *** study assumed that fresh Alu fuit,palp and in the form of powder can be useful for the development of new products.

This paper introduces a novel multi-tiered defense architecture to protect language models from adversarial prompt attacks. We construct adversarial prompts using strategies like role emulation and manipulative assistance to simulate real threats. We introduce a comprehensive, multi-tiered defense framework named GUARDIAN (Guardrails for Upholding Ethics in Language Models) comprising a system prompt filter, pre-processing filter leveraging a toxic classifier and ethical prompt generator, and pre-display filter using the model itself for output screening. Extensive testing on Meta’s Llama-2 model demonstrates the capability to block 100% of attack prompts. The approach also auto-suggests safer prompt alternatives, thereby bolstering language model security. Quantitatively evaluated defense layers and an ethical substitution mechanism represent key innovations to counter sophisticated attacks. The integrated methodology not only fortifies smaller LLMs against emerging cyber threats but also guides the broader application of LLMs in a secure and ethical manner.

AIM:To elucidate the changes of different ganglion cell layer(GCL)thinning patterns between the optic neuritis(ON)and non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy(NAION).METHODs:A prospective,observational study was conducted to evaluate the timing of GCL changes between acute ON and NAION using optical coherence ***:Thinning on optical coherence tomography in the NAION group occurs as early as 11 d after symptomatic onset of vision loss and follows an altitudinal *** mean superior-inferior GCL thickness difference in the NAION cohort was clinically significant at 5.7μm in the NAION cohort compared to controls of 0.8μm(P=0.032),but not significant in the ON group compared to controls with both groups measuring 1.1μ*** thinning was significant for the ON group compared to controls at 7.2μm(P=0.011)but not the NAION group compared to controls at 1.35μ***:These findings suggest that future treatments for NAION should be given early,and possibly before 11 d in order to prevent GCL and irreversible vision loss.
