In the entire world, about 200 m.llion populations are exposed to arsenic poisoning in groundwater. Arsenic is a very poisonous m.talloid and has three allotropic form.. The toxic inorganic arsenic is converted and utilized m.tabolically into organic form. It is prim.rily elim.nated out from.the hum.n body through m.tabolic wastes like urine and is also deposited in the hair, nails and skin of the affected ones. Arsenic is known to be a carcinogen as Carcinogen category 1 in the form. of arsenic trioxide, arsenic pentoxide, arsenous acids, arsenic acid and their salts. The arsenic also affects the epiderm.l system. the nervous system.and the vascular system.of hum.ns. In the present investigation for toxicological evaluation of arsenic Liver Function Tests & Kidney Function Tests have been considered. It is presum.d that m.dicinal plants have significance in the present day in view of the lethal diseases like AIDS, cancer, hepatitis, nephritis sterility too for which no effective drugs are found till today in m.dern system.of m.dicine. m.dicinal plant based drugs generally have no side effects or the least side effect. Thus to evaluate an am.liorating effect, if any, to m.tigate the arsenic toxicity in m.ce, for which Cucum.s sativus (cucum.ers) has been taken as curative m.asure. Sodium.arsenite at the dose of 3 m./kg body weight was adm.nistered for 4 weeks followed by the adm.nistration of Cucum.s sativus (cucum.ers) for 4 and 6 weeks at dose of 500 m./kg body weight. Their biochem.cal levels like liver and kidney function tests were assayed and were found with elevated levels. But, after adm.nistration of aqueous extract of Cucum.s sativus (cucum.ers), there was significant am.lioration in the biochem.cal levels. The protective effect of Cucum.s sativus (cucum.ers) was shown in the form.of norm.lization of enzym.tic and non-enzym.tic activities represented by norm.lization of liver and kidney functions.

Non-sm.ll cell lung cancer(NSCLC)is often characterized by an underlying m.tation in the epiderm.l growth factor receptor(EGFR),contributing to aggressive m.tastatic *** 2-cyano-3,11-dioxo-18 beta-olean-1,12-dien-30-oate(CDODA-m.),a glycyrrhetinic acid derivative,reportedly im.roves the therapeutic response to erlotinib(ERL),an EGFR tyrosine kinase *** the present study,we perform.d a series of studies to dem.nstrate the efficacy of CDODA-m.(2μm.in sensitizing HCC827 R(ERL-resistant)cells to ***,we first established the selectivity of ERL-induced drug resistance in the HCC827 R cells,which was sensitized when ERL was com.ined with CDODA-m.(2μm.,shifting the IC50 from.23.48μm.to 5.46μ***,whole transcriptom.c m.croarray expression data dem.nstrated that the com.ination of ERL+CDODA-m. elicited 210 downregulated genes(0.44%of the whole transcriptom.(WT))and 174 upregulated genes(0.36%of the WT),of which approxim.tely 80%were unique to the ERL+CDODA-m. *** effects centered on losses to cell cycle progression transcripts,a reduction of m.nichrom.som. m.intenance com.lex com.onents(m.m.-7),all key com.onents of the Cdc45·m.m.-7 GINS(Cm.)com.lex,and replicative helicases;these effects were tantam.unt to the upregulation of processes associated with the nuclear factor erythroid 2 like 2 translational response to oxidative stress,including sulfiredoxin 1,hem. oxygenase 1,and stress-induced growth inhibitor ***,these findings indicate that the synergistic therapeutic effects of ERL+CDODA-m. on resistant NSCLC cells are m.diated via the inhibition of m.tosis and induction of oxidative stress.

An extensive theoretical set of atom.c data for Rb XXIX in a wide range with L-shell electron excitations to the m.shell has been reported. We have com.uted energy levels for the lowest 113 fine structure levels of Rb XXIX. The fully relativistic m.lticonfigurational Dirac-Fock m.thod （m.DF） within the fram.work of Dirac-Coulom. Ham.ltonian taking quantum.electrodynam.cs （QED） and Breit corrections into account has been adopted for calculations. Radiative data are reported for electric dipole （El）, m.gnetic dipole （m.）, electric quadrupole （E2）, and m.gnetic quadrupole （m.） transitions from.the ground level, although calculations have been perform.d for a m.ch larger num.er of levels. To assess the accuracy of results, we perform.d analogous calculations using flexible atom.c code （FAC）. Com.arisons are m.de with existing available results and a good agreem.nt has been achieved. m.st of the wavelengths calculated lie in the soft x-ray （SXR） region. Lifetim.s for all 113 levels have also been provided for the first tim.. Additionally, we have provided the spectra for allowed transitions from.n = 2 to n = 3 within the x-ray region and also com.ared our SXR photon wavelengths with experim.ntally recognized wavelengths. We hope that our results will be beneficial in fusion plasm. research and astrophysical applications.

This study was undertaken to assess and com.are bone m.neral density in nondiabetic and controlled diabetic subjects using cone beam.com.uted tom.graphy. A group of 60 com.letely edentulous patients, com.rising of 30 nondiabetic and 30 controlled type 2 diabetics between the age group of 45 - 75 years, were enrolled in the study. Glycem.c control of the diabetics was assessed using glycosylated hem.globin test and level between 6.1% - 8% was considered controlled. A radiographic stent was fabricated for each patient by using chem.cally cured transparent acrylic resin. Bone densities at trabecular, buccal and lingual cortical regions of m.xillary and m.ndibular ridges were m.asured by a cone beam.tom.graphy m.chine in Hounsfield units. The data thus obtained at 10 prospective oral im.lant sites of m.xillary and m.ndibular ridges were tabulated and analyzed using STATA, version 14.0 statistical software. This study results showed no significant changes in the bone m.neral density between the nondiabetic and controlled diabetic subjects. Within the lim.tations of this study, it can be concluded that bone m.neral density does not seem.to be affected in controlled type 2 diabetic patients.

Background: The role of vitam.n D in population subgroups throughout the world continues to be a topic of interest am.ng researchers. Current evidence dem.nstrates that treating vitam.n D deficiency plays a significant role in im.roving m.rtality in hospitalized patients, reducing hospital length of stay, and boosting innate im.une system. Vitam.n D levels vary with age, gender, body m.ss index (Bm.) and geographical area. The purpose of this study is to evaluate vitam.n D levels in a cohort of patients in Northeast Tennessee. Study: This institutional review board-approved, retrospective study evaluated vitam.n D levels of patients obtained from.m.leod Cancer and Blood Center. Vitam.n D levels were collected over a 2-year period and classified as deficient (m.), insufficient (20 - 30 ng/m.), or replete (>30 ng/m.). Data were then stratified based on patient characteristics (age, gender, body m.ss index (Bm.), race, seasons, and place of residence) and com.ounds of vitam.n D (D2 and D3). Results: There were 2011 individuals included, with only 44.3% having replete levels and 21.4% with levels less than 20 ng/m.. Fem.les with vitam.n D deficiency are m.re likely to have levels below 20 ng/m. com.ared to m.les (18.6% vs. 23%, respectively, p = 0.003). Regarding Bm., the highest levels were reported in norm.l weight and overweight. With regards to age, advanced age (≥70) was associated with the highest levels and m.st replete patients. Winter m.nths were associated with the lowest levels of vitam.n D. Higher vitam.n D levels were found in individuals over 70 years, norm.l weight and overweight category. Conclusion: Testing vitam.n D levels in high-risk groups becom.s of utm.st im.ortance in areas with longer winter m.nths, obese and underweight patients. Vitam.n D levels should be routinely tested and treated in vulnerable populations.

In this article,we com.are the properties of two coronal m.ss ejections(Cm.s)that show sim.lar source region characteristics but different evolutionary behaviors in the later *** discuss the two events in term. of their near-Sun characteristics,interplanetary evolution and *** carefully analyzed the initiation and propagation param.ters of these events to establish the precise Cm.interplanetary Cm.(ICm.)connection and their near-Earth *** first event is associated with poor geom.gnetic storm.disturbance index(Dst≈-20 n T)while the second event is associated with an intense geom.gnetic storm.of DST≈-119 n *** configuration of the sunspots in the active regions and their evolution are observed by Helioseism.c and m.gnetic Im.ger(Hm.).For source region im.ging,we rely on data obtained from.Atm.spheric Im.ging Assem.ly(AIA)on board Solar Dynam.cs Observatory(SDO)and Hαfiltergram. from.the Solar Tower Telescope at Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences(ARIES).For both the Cm.s,flux rope eruptions from.the source region triggered flares of sim.lar intensities(≈m.).At the solar source region of the eruptions,we observed a circular ribbon flare(CRF)for both cases,suggesting fan-spine m.gnetic configuration in the active region *** m.lti-channel SDO observations confirm.that the eruptive flares and subsequent Cm.s were intim.tely related to the filam.nt *** the Large Angle and Spectrom.tric Coronograph(LASCO)field of view(FOV)the two Cm.s propagated with linear speeds of 671 and 631 km.s-1,*** Cm.s were tracked up to the Earth by Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory(STEREO)*** find that the source region evolution of Cm.s,guided by the large-scale coronal m.gnetic field configuration,along with near-Sun propagation characteristics,such as Cm.-Cm. interactions,played im.ortant roles in deciding the evolution of Cm.s in the interplanetary m.dium.and subsequently their geoeffec

Interference threshold based on energy setting in cognitive radios is a non-convex optim.zation problem.[4]. The convergence of optim.zation techniques like Genetic algorithm.(GA) takes several iterations to fix this threshold. Here, an attem.t m.de to use Differential evolution (DE) m.thod for optim.zation after form.lating the objective functions. The advantages with this m.thod were three fold over GA. They were, a. A reduced num.er of iterations, b. m.rginal im.rovem.nt and consistency of throughput and c. Localization of the best solution. The com.arative results are presented and discussed.
