Ploughing and fertilization practices in rice-wheat system have deteriorated the soil carbon (C) pools. Conservation agriculture (CA) based management approaches have proven to enhance C sequestration and reverse the loss of soil-organic-carbon (SOC), which further enhances soil fertility. Different fractions of SOC pools react to the alterations in management practices and indicate changes in SOC dynamics as compared to total C in the soil. Higher SOC levels in soil have been observed in case of reduced/no-till (NT) practices than conventional tillage (CT). However, between CT and zero tillage/NT, total SOC stocks diminished with an increase in soil depth, which demonstrated that the benefits of SOC are more pronounced in the topsoil under NT. Soil aggregation provides physical protection to C associated with different-sized particles, thus, the improvement in soil aggregation through CA is an effective way to mitigate soil C loss. Along with less soil disturbance, residual management, suitable crop rotation, rational application of manures and fertilizers, and integrated nutrient management have been found to be effective in not only improving soil C stock but also enhancing the soil health and productivity. Thus, CA can be considered as a potential method in the build-up of SOC of soil in rice-wheat system.

A novel slot scheduling technique for duty-cycle based data transmission for wireless sensor network

The duty cycling process involves turning a radio into an active and dormant state for conserving energy. It is a promising approach for designing routing protocols for a resource-constrained Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). In the duty cycle-based WSNs, the network lifetime is improved and the network transmission is increased as compared to conventional routing protocols. In this study, the active period of the duty cycle is divided into slots that can minimize the idle listening problem. The slot scheduling technique helps determine the most efficient node that uses the active period. The proposed routing protocol uses the opportunistic concept to minimize the sender waiting problem. Therefore, the forwarder set will be selected according to the node's residual active time and energy. Further, the optimum routing path is selected to achieve the minimum forwarding delay from the source to the destination. Simulation analysis reveals that the proposed routing scheme outperforms existing schemes in terms of the average transmission delay, energy consumption, and network throughput.

目的基于监测、流行病学和最终结果(SEER)数据库大样本数据,构建并分析可视化预测老年晚期肺腺癌术后患者预后的列线图模型。方法使用SEER*Stat8.***.0.1软件筛选2000年至2019年SEER数据库中来自17个注册点的数据,纳入4453例经美国癌症联合会(AJCC)第7版分期标准诊断为Ⅲ期和Ⅳ期接受手术治疗、年龄≥65岁的肺腺癌患者,按7∶3比例随机分为训练集(3117例)和验证集(1336例),比较两组的流行病学资料和临床病理特征。采用LASSO回归进行数据降维,从患者预后因素中选择最佳预测因子。采用Cox比例风险模型对筛选出来的变量进行单因素和多因素分析,采用R软件rms包根据预后独立危险因素构建列线图,预测患者1、3、5年肿瘤特异性生存(CSS)率。采用Bootstrap法对验证集进行1000次等量有放回重复采样验证,采用C指数、受试者工作特征(ROC)曲线及校正曲线验证列线图模型的准确性。结果训练集、验证集患者年龄、性别、种族、肿瘤位置、Grade分级、手术方式、淋巴结清扫数目、放疗方式、肿瘤长径、肿瘤转移、婚姻、居住环境、TNM分期、放化疗等比较,差异均无统计学意义(均P>0.05)。将训练集中18个变量纳入LASSO回归分析,对变量进行降维,共筛选出11个最优预测变量,年龄≥85岁(HR=2.34,95%CI:1.803~3.037,P<0.01)、男性(HR=1.326,95%CI:1.228~1.432,P<0.01),Grade分级Ⅲ~Ⅳ级(HR=1.333,95%CI:0.844~2.105,P<0.01)、未清扫淋巴结(HR=2.261,95%CI:2.023~2.527,P<0.01),肿瘤长径≥3.7 cm(HR=1.445,95%CI:1.333~1.566,P<0.01),发生骨转移(HR=1.535,95%CI:1.294~1.819,P<0.01)、脑转移(HR=1.308,95%CI:1.117~1.532,P<0.01)、肺转移(HR=1.229,95%CI:1.056~1.431,P=0.01),居住于农村(HR=1.215,95%CI:1.084~1.363,P<0.01)、TNM分期Ⅳ期(HR=1.155,95%CI:1.044~1.278,P=0.01)、术后放疗(HR=1.148,95%CI:1.054~1.250,P<0.01)的肺腺癌患者预后更差。根据以上变量构建列线图预测模型,预测老年晚期肺腺癌术后患者1、3、5年CSS率。采用Bootstrap法重复抽样1000次验证列线图的建模效果,模型组训练集的C指数为0.654(95%CI:0.641~0.668),验证集为0.666(95%CI:0.646~0.685)。分别绘制老年晚期肺腺癌术后患者训练集和验证集1、3、5年CSS率的ROC曲线,曲线下面积(AUC)分别为0.730(95%CI:0.708~0.754)和0.689(95%CI:0.672~0.710)、0.687(95%CI 0.668~0.711)和0.731(95%CI:0.697,0.765)、0.712(95%CI:0.684~0.740)、0.714(95%CI:0.683~0.745)。校准曲线显示模型预测概率与真实概率具有较高的一致性。结论根据最优预测变量构建的老年晚期肺腺癌术后患者预后预测列线图模型,可能是患者生存预测的一个简便工具。

BS-SC Model:A Novel Method for Predicting Child Abuse Using Borderline-SMOTE Enabled Stacking Classifier

For a long time,legal entities have developed and used crime prediction *** techniques are frequently updated based on crime evaluations and responses from scientific *** is a need to develop type-based crime prediction methodologies that can be used to address issues at the subgroup *** maltreatment is not adequately addressed because children are *** a result,the possibility of developing a model for predicting child abuse was investigated in this *** exploratory analysis methods were used to examine the city of Chicago’s child abuse *** data set was balanced using the Borderline-SMOTE technique,and then a stacking classifier was employed to ensemble multiple algorithms to predict various types of child *** proposed approach successfully predicted crime types with 93%of accuracy,precision,recall,and *** AUC value of the same was ***,when compared to the Extra Trees model(17.55),which is the second best,the proposed model’s execution time was significantly longer(476.63).We discovered that Machine Learning methods effectively evaluate the demographic and spatial-temporal characteristics of the crimes and predict the occurrences of various subtypes of child *** results indicated that the proposed Borderline-SMOTE enabled Stacking Classifier model(BS-SC Model)would be effective in the real-time child abuse prediction and prevention process.

Fog computing is a promising technology that has been emerged to handle the growth of smart devices as well as the popularity of latency-sensitive and location-awareness Internet of Things(IoT)*** the emergence of IoT-based services,the industry of internet-based devices has *** number of these devices has raised from millions to billions,and it is expected to increase further in the near ***,additional challenges will be added to the traditional centralized cloud-based architecture as it will not be able to handle that growth and to support all connected devices in real-time without affecting the user *** data aggregation models for Fog enabled IoT environ-ments possess high computational complexity and communication ***-fore,in order to resolve the issues and improve the lifetime of the network,this study develops an effective hierarchical data aggregation with chaotic barnacles mating optimizer(HDAG-CBMO)*** HDAG-CBMO technique derives afitness function from many relational matrices,like residual energy,average distance to neighbors,and centroid degree of target ***,a chaotic theory based population initialization technique is derived for the optimal initial position of ***,a learning based data offloading method has been developed for reducing the response time to IoT user requests.A wide range of simulation analyses demonstrated that the HDAG-CBMO technique has resulted in balanced energy utilization and prolonged lifetime of the Fog assisted IoT networks.

Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA)is an ideal choice for 5G waveforms due to their characteristics such as high data rate,massive device connectivity,high spectral access,and effective frequency selective ***,it permits gigantic *** spectrum overlaps with NOMA,which consents several operators to segment the spectrum at the same *** features make NOMA more suitable for use beyond *** to Average Power(PAPR)is a major problem in Multi-Carrier Techniques(MCT)like NOMA and it also degrades the performance of the *** Partial Transmission Sequence(PTS)is a superior algorithm for moderating the ***,it also increases the complexity of the *** PAPR is reduced in NOMA by multiplying the NOMA signal with optimised phase vectors(P).The phase vectors are generated by using the Vandermonde Matrix(VM).In this work,we proposed a VM-PTS algorithm for the NOMA system,and the number of computations to search the optimal phase vectors for NOMA high PAPR signal is less as compared with existing *** outcomes demonstrate that the performance of the recommended PTS in terms of PAPR,Bit Error Rate(BER),and complexity is better than the conventional PTS(C-PTS).

Geospatial approach to elucidate anomalies in the hierarchical organization of drainage network in Kuttiyadi River Basin, Southern India

An assessment of anomalies in the hierarchical organization of the drainage network in the Kuttiyadi River Basin(KuRB),Kerala,has been performed by considering various morphometric parameters such as bifurcation index(R),hierarchical anomaly index(Δa),hierarchical anomaly density(ga),and stream gradient index(SL)in a geographical information system(GIS)***,a digital elevation model(DEM)of the area has been generated from Cartosat stereo pair data at 2.5-m *** computed quantitative information about drainage characteristics reveals the highest drainage anomaly is observed in sub-watersheds(SW)III and *** is observed that neo-tectonic activity caused the development of younger stage drainage patterns of structural controls in the sub-watersheds of this river *** tectonic activityinduced diffusion,high energy fluvial erosion,and anthropogenic interferences altered the hierarchical organization of the drainage network of the sub-watersheds in mature to old stages of geomorphic *** results of finding validated with asymmetry factor and ratio of the hierarchical index(Δa)with hierarchical anomaly number(A),bifurcation index(R),direct bifurcation ratio(Rdb),stream gradient index(SL),and denudation index(logTu).From the denudation index analysis,the sediment yield of the river basin is identified as 0.67 t·km^(−2)·yr^(−1).Moreover,the asymmetric factor(AF)in the KuRB shows the imprints of Paleo−Neo Proterozoic crustal tilting toward a NNW−SSE direction.
