Crystal structure prediction has been widely used to accelerate the discovery of new materials in recent *** to this day,it remains a challenge to predict the stable stoichiometries and structures of ternary or more complex systems due to the explosive increase of the size of the chemical and configurational *** novel materials with a series of unique characteristics are expected to be found in this virgin territory while new algorithms to predict crystal structures in complex systems are urgently called *** by co-evolution in biology,here we propose a co-evolutionary algorithm,which we name COPEX,and which is based on the well-known evolutionary algorithm *** this proposed algorithm,a few USPEX calculations for ternary systems and multiple for energetically-favored pseudobinary or fixed-composition systems are carried out in parallel,and coevolution is achieved by sharing structural information on the fittest individuals among different USPEX sub-processes during the joint *** have applied the algorithm to W–Cr–B,Mg–Si–O,and Hf–Ta–C,three very different systems,and many ternary compounds have been *** results clearly demonstrate that the COPEX algorithm combines efficiency and reliability even for complex systems.

The essay proceeds from the assumptions that for a economic/political integration group to succeed, first, its participants＇ motives should ideally be as alike as possible and not oppose one another and, second, their expectations from inte- gration should correspond to the organisation＇s capabilities. In light of these assumptions, the study endeavours to assess the Eurasian Economic Union＇s （EAEU） potential for stability and development. First, the author analyses the key motives that were driving its member states＇ decisions to enter the organisation, compares them with one another and discusses how the countries＇ motives influence their conduct in the union. Second, the author confronts those motives against the EAEU＇s activities and the general logic of interstate politics on the post-Soviet space to reckon up whether the bloc＇s capabilities fit with the expectations of its member countries. Finally, based on that discussion, the author speculates on how the divergence/convergence of EAEU member states＇ goals, as well as the （in-） feasibility of their expectations, affect the organisation＇s development.

This paper presents a closed form solution to the dynamic stability problem of a beam-column system with hinged ends loaded by an axial periodically time-varying compressive force of an elliptic type,i.e.,a1cn 2（τ,k 2）＋a2sn 2（τ,k 2）＋a3dn 2（τ,k 2）.The solution to the governing equation is obtained in the form of Fourier sine *** resulting ordinary differential equation is solved *** the exact analytical solutions to the dynamic buckling problems is ***,the availability of exact solutions can provide adequate understanding for the physical characteristics of the *** this study,the frequency-response characteristics of the system,the effects of the static load,the driving forces,and the frequency ratio on the critical buckling load are also investigated.

Tailoring of the composition of the scintillation ceramics Gd_(x)Ce_(0.03)Al_(2)Ga_(3)O_(12)(x=2.89-3.07) heavily doped with Ce was *** co-precipitation is found to be quite a useful method to provide a purpo seful deviation of Gd content from the stoichio metric ratio in powders for their further compacting and sintering in the *** effect of the composition variations on microstructure,phase composition,luminescent and scintillation characteristics is *** is shown that Gd content below the stoichiometric composition leads to increasing the grain size but,quenching of the photoluminescence and the scintillation,whereas excess Gd leads to higher luminosity;the maximum value is obtained for the composition with an excess of Gd ~2%.Ceramics possess a light yield of -50000 ph/MeV,effective scintillation kinetics of 50 ns,and is a good candidate for application in a new generation of scanners utilizing pulsed X-ray sources.

Comprehensive research has been implemented to raise the efficiency of the geochemical survey of stream sediments(SSs)that formed under the cryolithogenesis *** authors analysed the composition,structure and specific features of the formation of exogenous anomalous geochemical fields(AGFs)identified through SSs of large river valleys of IV *** our case,these were the valleys of Maly Ken,Ken and Tap *** rivers are located in the central and southern parts of the Balygychan-Sugoy trough enclosed in the Magadan region,North-East of *** authors proposed a new technique to sample loose alluvium of SSs in the large river valleys along the *** profiles were located across the *** AGFs of Au,Ag,Pb,Zn,Sn,Bi,Mo and W were *** between elements have been *** elements are the main indicator elements of Au-Ag,Ag-Pb,Sn-Ag,Mo-W and Sn-W mineralization occurring on the sites under *** results obtained were compared with the results of geochemical surveys of *** is concluded that the AGFs recognized along the profiles reflect the composition and structure of eroded and drained ore zones,uncover completely and precisely the pattern of element distribution in loose sediments of large water *** alluvium fraction<0.25 mm seems to be most significant in a practical sense,as it concentrated numerous ore *** of this fraction in the river valleys of IV order does not cause any difficulty,for this kind of material is *** developed technique of alluvium sampling within large river valleys is efficient in searching for diverse mineralization at all stages of prognostic *** is applicable for geochemical survey of SSs performed at different scales both in the North-East of Russia,as well as other regions with similar climatic conditions,where the SSs are formed under the cryolithogenesis conditions.

Protonic ceramic electrolysis cells(PCECs),which permit high-temperature electrolysis of water,exhibit various advantages over conventional solid oxide electrolysis cells(SOECs),including cost-effectiveness and the potential to operate at low-/intermediate-temperature ranges with high performance and *** many efforts have been made in recent years to improve the electrochemical characteristics of PCECs,certain challenges involved in scaling them up remain *** the present work,we present a twin approach of combining the tape-calendering method with all-Ni-based functional electrodes with the aim of fabricating a tubular-designed PCEC having an enlarged electrode area(4.6 cm^2).This cell,based on a 25μm-thick BaCe0.5Zr0.3Dy0.2O3-δ proton-conducting electrolyte,a nickelbased cermet and a Pr1.95Ba0.05NiO4+δ oxygen electrode,demonstrates a high hydrogen production rate(19 m L min^-1 at 600℃),which surpasses the majority of results reported for traditional button-or planar-type *** findings increase the scope for scaling up solid oxide electrochemical cells and maintaining their operability at reducing temperatures.
