Optical imaging is a most useful and widespread technique for the investigation of the structure and function of the cellular ***,an analysis of immensely convoluted and irregularly compacted DNA polymer is highly challenging even by modern super-resolution microscopy *** we propose fluorescence lifetime imaging(FLIM)for the advancement of studies of genomic structure including DNA compaction,replication as well as monitoring of gene *** proposed FLIM assay employs two independent mechanisms for DNA compaction *** mechanism relies on the inverse quadratic relation between the fluorescence lifetimes of fluorescence probes incorporated into DNA and their local refractive index,variable due to DNA compaction *** mechanism is based on the Förster resonance energy transfer(FRET)process between the donor and the acceptor fluorophores,both incorporated into *** these proposed mechanisms were validated in cultured *** obtained data unravel a significant difference in compaction of the gene-rich and gene-poor pools of genomic *** show that the gene-rich DNA is loosely compacted compared to the dense DNA domains devoid of active genes.

Fluorescence lifetime is not only associated with the molecular structure f fuorophores,but alsostrongly depends on the environment around them,which llows fuorescence lifetime imagingmicroscopy(FLIM)to be used as a tool for precise measurement of the cell or tisue microenvironment,This review introduces the basic principle of fuorescence lifetime imagingtechnology and its application in clinical medicine,including research and diagnosis of diseases inskin,brain,eyes,mouth,bone,blood vessels and cavity organs,and drug *** anoninvasive,nontoxic and nonionizing radiation technique,FLIM demonstrates excellent per-formance with high sensitivity and specificity,which allows to determine precise position of thelesion and,thus,has good potential for application in biomedical research and clinical diagnosis.

Bound states in the continuum （BICs） are perfectly localized resonances despite embedding in the continuum ***,an isolated BIC is very sensitive to the structure ***,we report merging acoustic BICs in a single open resonator,robust against the structure *** find that both symmetry-protected BIC and Friedrich-Wintgen BIC are sustained in a single coupled waveguide-resonator *** varying the height and length of the resonator,these two BICs move toward each other and merge into a single one at a critical *** to an individual BIC,the merged BIC is robust against fabrication error because its Q-factor is proportional to ΔL-4,whereΔL embodies the structure *** essence of this extraordinary phenomenon is perfectly explained by the two-and three-level approximations of the effective nonHermitian ***,we present direct experimental demonstrations of the moving and merging of BICs in a coupled 3D waveguide-resonator,which are evidenced by the vanishing of the linewidth of Fano resonance in the transmission *** results may find exciting applications in designing high-quality acoustic sources,sensors and filters.

The longitudinal dependence of the behavior of ionospheric parameters has been the subject of a number of works where significant variations are *** also applies to the prediction of the ionospheric total electron content(TEC),which neural network methods have recently been widely ***,the results are mainly presented for a limited set of *** paper examines the longitudinal dependence of the TEC forecast accuracy in the equatorial *** this case,the methods are used that provided the best accuracy on three meridians:European(30°E),Southeastern(110°E)and American(75°W).Results for the stations considered are analyzed as a function of longitude using the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Global Ionosphere Map(JPL GIM)for *** results are for 2 h ahead and 24 h ahead *** was found that in this case,based on the metric values,three groups of architectures can be *** first group included long short-term memory(LSTM),gated recurrent unit(GRU),and temporal convolutional networks(TCN)models as a part of unidirectional deep learning models;the second group is based on the recurrent models from the first group,which were supplemented with a bidirectional algorithm,increasing the TEC forecasting accuracy by 2-3 *** third group,which includes the bidirectional TCN architecture(BiTCN),provided the highest *** this architecture,according to data obtained for 9 equatorial stations,practical independence of the TEC prediction accuracy from longitude was observed under the following metrics(Mean Absolute Error MAE,Root Mean Square Error RMSE,Mean Absolute Percentage Error MAPE):MAE(2 h)is 0.2 TECU approximately;MAE(24 h)is 0.4 TECU approximately;RMSE(2 h)is less than 0.5 TECU except Niue station(RMSE(2 h)is 1 TECU approximately);RMSE(24 h)is in the range of 1.0-1.7 TECU;MAPE(2 h)<1%except Darwin station,MAPE(24 h)<2%.This result was confirmed by data from additional 5 stations that formed latitudinal chains in the

Methane-air diffusion filtration combustion in a radiative round-jet burner was numerically investigated in this *** purpose of this study was focused on the effects of porous media porosity and gas velocity on temperature distribution and CO and NO_(x)*** chemical kinetics was used where air and methane were assumed to be at their stoichiometric ratio,while thermo-physical properties were varied per the solid matrix porosity *** characteristics were evaluated based on conduction and radiation as the two primary heat transfer modes within the solid *** simulations were carried out based on a packed bed with 3 mm alumina *** show that combustion temperature increases while the temperature gradient decreases with the increase in porosity,yielding higher NO_(x),and lower CO ***,the combustion temperature is the lowest and most uniformly distributed with 1 m/s and 3 m/s gas velocities,wherewith 3 m/s gas velocity,combustion occurs outside of the porous *** corresponding NO_(x)and CO emissions are the lowest with 1 m/s gas velocity and increase with the increase in gas velocity from 1 m/s to 10m/s.

First-principles techniques for electronic transport property prediction have seen rapid progress in recent ***,it remains a challenge to predict properties of heterostructures incorporating fabrication-dependent ***-learning(ML)approaches are increasingly being used to accelerate design and discovery of new materials with targeted properties,and extend the applicability of first-principles techniques to larger ***,few studies exploited ML techniques to characterize relationships between local atomic structures and global electronic transport *** this work,we propose an electronictransport-informatics(ETI)framework that trains on ab initio models of small systems and predicts thermopower of fabricated silicon/germanium heterostructures,matching measured *** demonstrate application of ML approaches to extract important physics that determines electronic transport in semiconductor heterostructures,and bridge the gap between ab initio accessible models and fabricated *** anticipate that ETI framework would have broad applicability to diverse materials classes.

Despite the continuous improvement of the widely used empirical model international reference ionosphere(IRI),the recently appeared new models must be tested *** along the meridians has the advantage of dealing with the latitudinal dependent *** paper uses new models of parameters foF2(critical frequency),TEC(total electron content),andτ(equivalent slab thickness of the ionosphere),which are of great importance for evaluating the effects of space ***-Plas,NNT2F2,and NTSM models were tested using data from 6 ionosondes located along the meridian 110°E in March *** is shown that the IRI-Plas model provides the closest values to experiment with respect toτ,while the NTSM model provides a rather limited reflection of the latitude *** of foF2(NNT2F2)have shown that,the NNT2F2 model provides good conformity with experimental values in this area,but it is very dependent on the TEC processing *** latitudinal dependences of foF2 obtained with TEC and polynomial dependenceτ(Appr)showed the presence of positive deviations from medians not only during disturbances but also quiet periods,longitudinally at the meridian.
