The present study describes the use of two commercially available lignins,namely,alkali and organosolv lignin,for the removal of2,4-dinitroanisole（DNAN）,a chemical widely used by the military and the dye industry,from *** of DNAN on bothlignins reached equilibrium within 10 hr and followed pseudo second-order kinetics with sorption being faster with alkali than withorganosolv lignin,i.e.k2 10.3 and 0.3 g/（mg·hr）,*** a separate study we investigated sorption of DNAN between 10 and40 C and found that the removal of DNAN by organosolv lignin increased from 0.8 to 7.5 mg/g but reduced slightly from 8.5 to 7.6mg/g in the case of alkali *** isotherms for either alkali or organosolv lignin best fitted Freundlich equation with enthalpyof formation,H0 equaled to 14 or 80 kJ/*** help understand DNAN sorption mechanisms we characterized the two lignins byelemental analysis,BET nitrogen adsorption-desorption and 31P *** in elemental compositions between the two ligninsindicated that alkali lignin should have more sites（O-and S-containing functionalities） for *** BET surface area andcalculated total pore volume of alkali lignin were almost 10 times greater than that of organosolv lignin suggesting that alkali ligninshould provide more sites for sorption.31P NMR showed that organosolv lignin contains more phenolic-OH groups than alkali lignin,i.e.,70% and 45%,*** variations in the type of OH groups between the two lignins might have affected the strength ofH-bonding between DNAN and the type of lignin used.

AIM: To determine whether hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection of index cases increases intrafamilial transmission (sexual and nonsexual contacts) of HCV. METHODS: In a case-control descriptive study we enrolled 300-household contacts of 60 index cases (40 males and 20 females) of HCV infection and 360 pair- matched controls in Ahwaz JundiShapour University Hospitals from August 1, 1998 to September 1, 2003. The control group consisted of first time blood donors referred to the Regional Blood Transfusion Organization. Serum samples and demographic data and a medical history including the existence of risk factors for HCV (after a questionnaire on the risk factors for parenteral exposure) were obtained from each subject. Antibodies to HCV were detected employing a commercially available second-generation enzyme immunoassay (EIA, Abbott Ⅱ). Positive serum specimens were retested using a second-generation recombinant immunoblot assay (RIBA-2) and a polymerase chain reaction for HCV RNA. Data analysis was carried out for intra-household clustering. RESULTS: Only 4 of 300 (1.33%) cases of household contacts without percutaneous risk factors were positive for HCV Ab while the remaining 296 family contacts were negative for anti-HCV. The mean age of the index cases was 28.4 (Std 15.22) years. The anti-HCV prevalences in parents, spouses, children of the index cases were 0.87% (1/115), 3.39% (2/59)) and 0.79% (1/126), respectively. Among couple partners negative for anti-HCV antibodies, the mean duration of the sexual relationship was 6 *** two-couple partners positive for anti-HCV antibodies married the index cases for longer than 15 years. The prevalence of positive HCV Ab among household contacts (1.33%) was not significantly higher than that in the controls (1%) (P > 0.06). CONCLUSION: Intrafamilial transmission of HCV is not the significant transmission route and sexual transmission does not seem to play a role in the intrafamilial spread of HCV infection. Intrafami

AIM: To study the antibiotic susceptibility patterns of gram-negative healthcare associated bacterial infections at two tertiary hospitals in the Sanandaj city, Kurdistan Province, ***: From January 2012 to December 2012, all positive cultures from potentially sterile body fluids were gathered. They sent to professor Alborzi clinical microbiology center in Shiraz for further analysis and susceptibility testing. The antibiotic susceptibility was determined using the Kirby-Bauer method(disk diffusiontechnique). The Results were interpreted according to Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines against a series of antimicrobials. World Health Organization definitions for Healthcare associated infections were ***: Seven hundred and thirty-two positive cultures were reported from both hospitals. Seventynine isolates/patients fulfilled the study criteria for healthcare associated gram-negative infections. The most frequent bacterial cultures were from the pediatric wards(52%). Serratia marcescens(S. marcescens)(38%) Escherichia coli(E. coli)(19%), Klebsiella pneumoniae(K. pneumoniae)(19%), Acinetobacter baumannii(6%), Enterobacter species(6%), Serratia odorifera(4%) and Pseudomonas species(5%) were the most frequently isolated organisms. The susceptibility pattern of common isolates i.e., S. marcescens, E. coli and K. pneumoniae for commonly used antibiotics were as follows: Ampicillin 3.3%, 6.7%, 20%; gentamicin 73.3%, 73.3%, 46.7%; ceftazidim 80%, 73.3%, 33.3%; cefepim 80%, 86.7%, 46.7%; piperacillin/tazobactam 90%, 66.7%, 86.7%; ciprofloxacin 100%, 73.3%, 86.7%; imipenem 100%, 100%, 100%, respectively. CONCLUSION: The most effective antibiotics against gram-negative healthcare associated infections are imipenem followed by ciprofloxacin. The resistance rate is high against ampicillin and cephalothin. The high mortality rate(46.1%) associated with S. marcescens is alarming.

The feasibility of dissimilar friction stir welding(FSW)between the SAF 2507 super duplex stainless steel and the Incoloy825 Ni-based superalloy was *** microstructure and mechanical behavior of the weldments were examined *** results showed that the alloys were successfully welded together by positioning the SAF 2507 on the advancing *** nuggets displayed higher hardness than the base metals,due to the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization and the subsequent refinement of the *** welded sample obtained the similar strength to the Incoloy 825 parent metal,showing the ductile fracture mode after the tensile tests by ***,the weld zone(31 J)exhibited higher and lower toughness than the Incoloy 825(23 J)and SAF 2507(42 J)parent metals,*** on the obtained results,the FSW method could be recommended to weld the super duplex stainless steel/Ni-based superalloy joints.

Development and evaluation of local communities incentive programs for improving the traditional forest management:A case study of Northern Zagros forests,Iran

We examined the local community incentive programs to improve traditional forest management in three forested villages in Baneh city, Kurdistan province in the northern Zagros forests of western Iran. Zagros forests cover 6.07 million ha and support rich plant and animal diversity. Changes in local community social and economic sys-tems and the inefficiency of traditional forest management led to a criti-cal situation in the stability of forest regeneration in recent decades. Due to a shortage of productive and arable lands and resulting unemployment and poverty, people overexploited the Zagros forests. Outside interven-tion in traditional forest management creates conflicts between local peoples and forest management organizations. To achieve sustainable forest management, including forest resources conservation and im-provement of natural resource based livelihoods of communities, it is desirable to implement Forestry Incentive Programs （FIP） based on the important functions of forests. Detailed information on the so-cio-economics of communities, the effect of forests on local livelihoods, and lists of products extracted from the forest were obtained from a sur-vey of local communities though questionnaire, interview and observa-tion. We studied 276 households in three villages and completed 76 ques-tionnaires by householders in the quantitative analysis. Sampling was performed by simple random sampling （SRS）. The needs of rural com-munities, such as livestock husbandry, mainly arise from the characteris-tics and environmental features of villages. We identified the driving forces, pressures, status, impacts and responses （DPSIR） to design incen-tive programs, by DPSIR analysis and interaction analysis. Evaluation of local community benefits from forests showed that in order to improve forest management, 319 dollars per year would be needed by each family as an incentive in 2010 to prevent lopping and firewood collecting, the main causes of forest degradation.

Pedestrian detection and tracking are vital elements of today’s surveillance systems,which make daily life safe for ***,human detection and visualization have become essential inventions in the field of computer ***,developing a surveillance system with multiple object recognition and tracking,especially in low light and night-time,is still ***,we propose a novel system based on machine learning and image processing to provide an efficient surveillance system for pedestrian detection and tracking at *** particular,we propose a system that tackles a two-fold problem by detecting multiple pedestrians in infrared(IR)images using machine learning and tracking them using particle ***,a random forest classifier is adopted for image segmentation to identify pedestrians in an *** result of detection is investigated by particle filter to solve pedestrian *** the extensive experiment,our system shows 93%segmentation accuracy using a random forest algorithm that demonstrates high accuracy for background and roof ***,the system achieved a detection accuracy of 90%usingmultiple templatematching techniques and 81%accuracy for pedestrian ***,our system can identify that the detected object is a ***,our system provided the best results compared to the state-ofart systems,which proves the effectiveness of the techniques used for image segmentation,classification,and *** presented method is applicable for human detection/tracking,crowd analysis,and monitoring pedestrians in IR video surveillance.

The oil and gas industry requires complex subsea infrastructure in order to develop offshore oil and gas *** installation,these components may encounter high slamming loads,stemming from impact with the water *** paper utilises two different numerical methods,the mesh-free Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics(SPH)approach and Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)Volume of Fluid(VOF)method to quantify these loads on a free-falling *** investigation is also interested in conducting a parameter study and determining the effect of varying simulation parameters on the prediction of slamming event kinematics and *** surface impact of a freefalling wedge was introduced as a case study and has been simulated using SPH and RANS,with the results being compared to an experimental *** was found from the SPH simulations that particle resolution and the size of the SPH particle kernel are very important,whilst the diffusion term does not play an important *** latter is due to the very transient nature of slamming events,which do not allow sufficient time for diffusion in the fluid *** the RANS simulations,motion of the wedge was achieved using the overset grid technique,whereby varying the discretising time step was found to have a pronounced impact on the accuracy of the captured slamming *** analysing the numerical data,one can observe that the RANS results correlate slightly better with the experimental data as opposed to that obtained from the SPH ***,considering the robustness and quick set up of the SPH simulations,both of these two numerical approaches are considered to be promising tools for modelling more complicated slamming problems,including those potentially involving more intricate structures.

目前隧洞建设呈现长洞身、大洞径、大埋深、地质复杂、灾害频发的发展趋势,对于深长隧洞施工,TBM在掘进速度、成洞质量、造价与环保方面具有显著优势。然而TBM地质适应性差,在穿越断层等不良地质时极易遭遇突水突泥、塌方、大变形等地质灾害,诱发TBM卡机,造成工期延误和严重经济损失。因此,对TBM卡机机理及安全控制措施研究很有必要。本研究利用3DEC软件,构建了隧洞穿越断层TBM卡机防控措施优化数值计算模型,开展了 TBM穿越断层破碎带支护参数优化和卡机安全防控关键技术研究,并取得了以下成果:(1)研究了断层几何参数对围岩变形和破坏特征的影响规律通过开展不同断层倾角(30°、60°、90°、120°和150)、不同断层带宽度(4m、8m、12m、16m和20m)和不同断层影响带宽度(12m、24m、36m、48m和60m)的数值计算,研究了断层倾角、断层带宽度和断层影响区宽度对TBM穿越断层断裂带时围岩变形和破坏特征的影响规律。(2)提出了围岩变形控制最优支护体系分析了不同支护参数和防控体系下的围岩变形控制效果,揭示了围岩纵横向表面位移特征、围岩内部应力场和围岩破坏特征。研究发现,增大衬砌厚度对围岩变形的控制效果优于增大衬砌刚度,减小锚杆间距对围岩变形的控制效果优于增加锚杆长度,施加锚杆+混凝土衬砌可有效降低围岩变形,并综合围岩控制效果优化了围岩支护体系。(3)形成了 TBM卡机防控技术研究了刀盘扩挖、超前管棚、超前注浆、应力释放率等防控措施下TBM和围岩的相互作用关系,揭示了掘进过程中TBM刀盘、护盾的摩擦阻力演化特征。研究表明,刀盘扩挖+超前管棚+超前注浆+应力释放率组合措施可有效预防TBM卡机,并结合实际工程在TBM卡机防控中进行了验证和应用。

In the last decade,there has been remarkable progress in the areas of object detection and recognition due to high-quality color images along with their depth maps provided by RGB-D *** enable artificially intelligent machines to easily detect and recognize objects and make real-time decisions according to the given *** cues can improve the quality of object detection and *** main purpose of this research study to find an optimized way of object detection and identification we propose techniques of object detection using two RGB-D *** proposed methodology extracts image normally from depth maps and then performs clustering using the Modified Watson Mixture Model(mWMM).mWMM is challenging to handle when the quality of the image is not ***,the proposed RGB-D-based system uses depth cues for segmentation with the help of *** it extracts multiple features from the segmented *** selected features are fed to the Artificial Neural Network(ANN)and Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)for detecting *** achieved 92.13%of mean accuracy over NYUv1 dataset and 90.00%of mean accuracy for the Redweb_v1 ***,their results are compared and the proposed model with CNN outperforms other state-of-the-art *** proposed architecture can be used in autonomous cars,traffic monitoring,and sports scenes.
