Bone marrow edema is a self-limiting, under-recognized condition. It mainly involves the lower limbs. It is characterized by pain and inability to bear weight. Diagnosis is most often based on imaging and by excluding other causes. Its exact pathogenesis is still debated and various theories are postulated. Treatment ranges from anti-inflammatories to restricted weight bearing. This overview has tried to revisit this rare and perhaps forgotten clinical-radiological condition.

Objective. severe abnormalities of the head ultrasound (HUs)-are important predictors of cerebral palsy (CP) and mental retardation, and a normal HUs usually ensures the absence of major impairments. With the increasing survival of extremely low birth weight (ELBW) infants (birth weight stic significance of a normal HUs may differ. This study examined the prevalence of and risk factors for CP and impaired mental development among ELBW infants with a normal HUs. Methods. study infants were ELBW infants who were cared for in Neonatal Research Network centers in the years 1995-1999, had a normal early and late HUs, survived to discharge, and returned for follow-up assessments at 18 to 22 months’corrected age. The outcomes of interest were a score scales of Infant Development-II Mental Developmental Index (MDI) and CP. Risk factors included maternal demographics; infant characteristics; and interventions or morbidities related to the lung, infection, and nutrition. Logistic regression was used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) and 95%confidence intervals (CIs). A time-oriented approach was used to select variables for inclusion in logistic models. Results. Of 1749 infants with a normal early and late HUs (performed at a mean age of 6 and 47 days, respectively), 1473 (84%) returned for follow-up assessment. Infants had a birth weight of 792 ±134 g (mean ±sD) and gestational age of 26 ±2 weeks. Rates of CP and MDI spectively, and 29.2%of infants had either CP or MDI ses, factors associated with CP were male gender (OR: 1.8; 95%CI: 1.2-2.6),multiple birth, (OR: 1.6; 95%CI: 1.1-2.5), decreasing birth weight (OR: 1.3 for each 100-g decrease; 95%CI: 1.1-1.5), pneumothorax (OR: 2.3; 95%CI: 1.2-4.4), and days of conventional ventilation (OR: 1.2 for each additional 10 days; 95%CI: 1.1-1.3). Human health implications of emerging diseases and the current situation in India's vaccine industry

Emerging diseases are infectious diseases that pose significant threat to human health, causing millions of deaths and disabilities in the upcoming days. Periodic epidemics of new infections and old reinfections increase the global burden of disease prevalence. They can be caused by new pathogens or evolving ones, which change human behavior and environmental factors. Researchers have studied the dynamic connections between microbes, hosts, and the environment, but new infectious diseases like coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), re-emerging diseases, and deliberately disseminated diseases persist despite earlier hopes of elimination. With heavy privatesector investments, Indian pharmacology now provides core Expanded Programme on Immunization vaccines to United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, producing previously unattainable vaccines for diseases like meningitis, hepatitis B, pneumococcal conjugate, rotavirus, influenza A (H1N1), and COVID-19. India's vaccine sector has emerged, among the oriented leaders of the Bharat Biotech, serum Institute of India, Panacea Biotech and Biological E. specifically, the technology transferred from Western countries has benefited the sector, which produces 1.3 billion doses annually. The serum Institute is the world's largest manufacturer of vaccines, providing measles and diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccines to United Nations. The serum Institute has developed several vaccines, including Nasovac, MenAfriVac, Pentavac, and an inactivated polio vaccine. India's success in vaccinations can be attributed to attractive investment conditions, government assistance, international alliances, and rising domestic technical talent. We report the discovery of KMT-2020-BLG-0414 Lb,with a planet-to-host mass ratio q2=0.9-1.2×10-5=3-4 q⊕at 1σ,which is the lowest mass-ratio microlensing planet to *** with two other recent discoveries(4?q/q⊕?6),it fills out the previous empty sector at the bottom of the triangular(log s,log q)diagram,where s is the planet-host separation in units of the angular Einstein radiusθ***,these discoveries call into question the existence,or at least the strength,of the break in the mass-ratio function that was previously suggested to account for the paucity of very low-q *** to the extreme magnification of the event,Amax~1450 for the underlying single-lens event,its light curve revealed a second companion with q3~0.05 and|log s3|~1,i.e.,a factor~10 closer to or farther from the host in *** measurements of the microlens parallaxπE and the angular Einstein radiusθE allow estimates of the host,planet and second companion masses,(M1,M2,M3)~(0.3 M⊙,1.0 M⊕,17 MJ),the planet and second companion projected separations,(a⊥,2,a⊥,3)~(1.5,0.15 or 15)au,and system distance DL~1 *** lens could account for most or all of the blended light(I~19.3)and so can be studied immediately with high-resolution photometric and spectroscopic observations that can further clarify the nature of the *** planet was found as part of a new program of high-cadence follow-up observations of high-magnification *** detection of this planet,despite the considerable difficulties imposed by COVID-19(two KMT sites and OGLE were shut down),illustrates the potential utility of this program.
