The oldest Asian record of alpheid shrimps,assigned to genus Alpheus,based on snapping claw fingertips from the Miocene Khari Nadi Formation in the Kutch Basin,western India reported herein,extends the fossil record of the family Alpheidae from Asia by~22 million *** early Miocene(Aquitanian)age is estimated based on the associated assemblage of calcareous nannofossils,Sphenolithus disbelemnos,Cyclicargolithus floridanus,and Reticulofenestra *** co-occurring microbiota includes bony fish otolith remains,identified as“genus Gobiidarum”,isolated teeth of Dasyatis rays,Sphyrna sharks,and teleosts,ctenoid and placoid scales,ostracods,belonging to the genera Paractinocythereis,Alocopocythere,Ruggieria,Aglaiocypris,Bairdoppilata,and echinoid *** together,the microfossil assemblage and data from chemical analyses using Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy,X-Ray Diffraction and Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence of host and associated lithologies suggests prevalence of a shallow(neritic)to coastal marine(intertidal)depositional *** present investigation also provides the oldest fossil evidence on the co-occurrence of Alpheus and gobiids(based on otoliths)that strongly advocates that the mutualistic association between these animal groups had developed by the Aquitanian.

Polarization Multiplexed Interrogation Technique for FBG Sensor Array

This paper proposes a polarization multiplexed interrogation technique for fiber Bragg grating （FBG） sensor array. The novelty of the proposed model is its ability to reduce interference and cross talk, thus allowing larger number of FBG sensors to be interrogated in an array. The calibration technique has been illustrated in this work for the FBG sensor array, where data from each sensor are linearly polarized and multiplexed before co-propagation, to find out the tapping points that enable identification of each sensor data uniquely. Simulation has been carried out for odd number and even number of sensors in an array. Even with interfering input, this proposed scheme can interrogate and distinctively identify each sensor data using appropriate tuning of polarization-splitter, polarization-rotator, and polarization-attenuator at the detector end during the calibration process. The significance of the proposed method is its compact size, which makes this calibration system ready to be deployed in real-time sensing applications and data acquisition from the FBG sensor array.

Disasters may occur at any time and place without little to no presage in *** the development of surveillance and forecasting systems,it is now possible to forebode the most life-threatening and formidable ***,forestﬁres are among the ones that are still hard to anticipate beforehand,and the technologies to detect and plot their possible courses are still in *** Aerial Vehicle(UAV)image-basedﬁre detection systems can be a viable solution to this ***,these automatic systems use advanced deep learning and image processing algorithms at their core and can be tuned to provide accurate ***,this article proposed a forestﬁre detection method based on a Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)architecture using a newﬁre detection ***,our method also uses separable convolution layers(requiring less computational resources)for immediateﬁre detection and typical convolution ***,making it suitable for real-time ***,after being trained on the dataset,experimental results show that the method can identify forestﬁres within images with a 97.63%accuracy,98.00%F1 Score,and 80%***,if deployed in practical circumstances,this identiﬁcation method can be used as an assistive tool to detectﬁre outbreaks,allowing the authorities to respond quickly and deploy preventive measures to minimize damage.

Potential and Use of Nitrate in Agricultural Purposes

With the excess use of nitrogen, a number of global and regional factors need to be addressed. Nitrate contamination of agricultural water leads to a number of environmental problems. During the twentieth century, the human being has used increasingly more reactive nitrogen, intentionally as fertilizer. The revolution in agricultural production is possibly increase by the use of nitrogen fertilizers. The inorganic nitrogen fertilizers are an essential input for maintaining high crop yield. This article discusses the origin and role of nitrogen in the environment. The potential and use of nitrogen as fertilizer for groundwater and surface water quality resources in agricultural purposes are discussed.

气化冲击焊接技术可广泛用于难以焊接成形的钛、镁和铝等有色金属材料与钢材的连接。铝箔作为气化冲击焊接过程能量转换的载体,它的工作效率对气化冲击焊接工艺起到至关重要的作用。分析了气化冲击焊接过程中能量转换的过程,采用光子多普勒测速系统分析了3种不同厚度的铝箔在不同能量输入条件下铝箔的工作效率和对飞板与靶板碰撞速度的影响规律。结果表明,当飞板与靶板间距(碰撞角度5o)为2.5 mm时,铝箔的气化能量是影响飞板与靶板碰撞速度的关键因素。通过碰撞速度的分析可以发现,0.051 mm铝箔在输入能量小于3 kJ时效率最高,0.076 mm铝箔在3～6 kJ效率最高,6～12 kJ时,0.127 mm的铝箔可以获得最佳效率。

Abundance and biomass of assorted small indigenous fish species:Observations from rural fish markets of West Bengal,India

The small indigenous fish species(SIS)are harvested as ensemble of different fish species of varying size and *** appraisal of the abundance and biomass of fish species constituting such ensemble was carried out with samples collected from fish markets ofWest Bengal,*** data revealed that at least 22 different fish species were present varying in numbers and species *** abundance and biomass of the individual fish species was negatively correlated,indicating numerical dominance of small sized *** regression showed a good fit of the relative abundance(y)with the species richness(x)in the samples of SIS(y=55.72ln(x)e 77.27;r^(2)=0.940),while power regression was best fit for the relative biomass of individual fish(y)with the species richness(x)in the samples of SIS(y=24.58x^(-1.54);R^(2)=0.831).In overall both species specific and individual based biomass and abundance relationships were negatively *** order to ascertain the harvest and marketability of the SIS in a judicious manner,monitoring of the fish assemblages in natural habitats is recommended.

Situational Awareness Using DBSCAN in Smart-Grid

Synchrophasors are the state-of-the-art measuring devices that sense various parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, and other grid parameters with a high sampling rate. This paper presents an approach to visualize and analyze the smart-grid data generated by synchrophasors using a visualization tool and density based clustering technique. A MATLAB based circle representation tool is utilized to visualize the real-time phasor data generated by a smart-grid model that mimics a synchrophasor. A density based clustering technique is also used to cluster the phasor data with the aim to detect contingency situations such as bad-data classification, various fault types, deviation on frequency, voltage or current values for better situational alertness. The paper uses data from an IEEE fourteen bus system test-bed modeled in MATLAB/SIMULINK to aid system operators in carrying various predictive analytics, and decisions.

The inflammatory process plays a central role in the development and progression of numerous pathological situations,such as inflammatory bowel disease(IBD),autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases,metabolic syndrome,and cardiovascular disorders. IBDs involve inflammation of the gastrointestinal area and mainly comprise Crohn's disease(CD) and ulcerative colitis(UC). Both pathological situations usually involve recurring or bloody diarrhea,pain,fatigue and weight loss. There is at present no pharmacological cure for CD or UC. However,surgery may be curative for UC patients. The prescribed treatment aims to ameliorate the symptoms and prevent and/or delay new painful episodes. Flavonoid compounds are a large family of hydroxylated polyphenolic molecules abundant in plants,including vegetables and fruits which are the major dietary sources of these compounds for humans,together with wine and tea. Flavonoids are becoming very popular because they have many health-promoting and disease-preventive effects. Most interest has been directed towards the antioxidant activity of flavonoids,evidencing a remarkable free-radical scavenging capacity. However,accumulating evidence suggests that flavonoids have many other biological properties,including anti-inflammatory,antiviral,anticancer,and neuroprotective activities through different mechanisms of action. The present review analyzes the available data about the different types of flavonoids and their potential effectiveness as adjuvant therapy of IBDs.

利用气化冲击焊接技术,制备了力学性能良好基于中间层的5A06铝合金与0Cr18Ni10Ti不锈钢气化冲击焊接接头,中间层3003铝合金与飞板5A06铝合金和靶板0Cr18Ni10Ti界面焊接良好,接头结合区域呈圆环状。通过信号采集系统分析了铝箔气化时间和电流随能量输入的变化,采用OM和SEM分析了接头界面的微观形貌和元素分布。研究了能量输入对铝箔气化的时刻和接头力学性能的影响。结果表明,随着能量输入的增加,铝箔气化所需时间减小,最终碰撞速率增大,从而使焊接区域直径增大;接头的抗拉力和抗剪力随能量输入的增大而增大。当能量输入为9 kJ时,接头的最大抗拉力为44.0 k N,抗剪力为2.1 kN;5A06/3003界面呈中间对称波状结合,3003/0Cr18Ni10Ti界面以金属间化合物连接,结合区域错位分布。
