The concept of Multidisciplinary approach is not new to Medical Science. It is an evolving concept that is widely appreciated and adopted in most of the disciplines of medicine. It’s rational and applicable in the management of Child and Adolescent Depression,which needs to be revisited focusing on the interplay of various contextual factors that are entwined and tend to affect the course of the illness. The limitations of any one mental health professional in envisioning all possible dimensions of Child and Adolescent Depression make this approach all the more important wherein Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatric Social Workers collaborate with each other and other allied professionals in the treatment and management of the disorder. India, being a heavily populated country, where multidisciplinary management approach is in a phase of expansion and is practiced in many leading institutes to meet the quality needs of patients. This article focuses on the Indian scene of multidisciplinary management approach in child and adolescent depression.

Morbidly Adherent Placenta (MAP): Lessons learnt

Context: Once a rare occurrence, MAP is becoming an increasing threat to maternal lives. Aims: To summarize our experience in the management of patients with morbidly adherent placenta. Introduction: MAP is a potentially life threatening hemorrhagic condition responsible for 7% - 10% maternal mortality. Settings and Design: Tertiary care center. Methods and Material: Retrospective study in which data of twelve patients with clinical diagnosis of morbidly adherent placenta was reviewed from Jan 2009 till Sept 2012. Results: The incidence of placenta accreta was found to be increasing every year. Out of twelve cases with clinical diagnosis of MAP, placenta previa was present in 10/12 patients with MAP. All patients had history of previous section. Two patients with preoperative diagnosis of MAP on USG/MRI were found to be normal intra-operative and in one patient focal accreta was diagnosed intraoperatively. Nine patients of MAP underwent caesarean hysterectomy due to excessive bleeding during placental separation and were confirmed histo-pathologically (3 accreta vera, 3 increta and 3 percreta). Internal iliac artery ligation was done in 2 patients. Two patients with placenta percreta had bladder rupture which was repaired and these two patients subsequently expired. Conclusions: The incidence of placenta accreta is increasing due to higher cesarean section (C/S) rate. Key to successful outcome is awareness, anticipation, preoperative counseling, planning and multidisciplinary approach.

Development and Evaluation of Nano-Silica Dispersed Polyurethane Based Coatings for Improved Anti-Graffiti and Scratch Resistance

Polyurethane based anti-graffiti coatings have been developed by incorporating varying amounts of OH-functional Silicone modified polyacrylate. Optimization of Silicone polyacrylate concentration in neat PU was done by testing its performance for graffiti resistance. Tests which include static contact angle measurements with water and spray paint, visual inspection of stain removal and color change measurements were performed. It was observed that 5 wt % of Silicone polyacrylate in the neat PU showed 95% stain removability. These coatings showed excellent graffiti resistance but poor mechanical properties. Hence modification of these coatings was done by nano-particle incorporation. Nano-silica particle concentration was optimized for surface mechanical properties such as surface hardness, elastic modulus and scratch resistance. FEG-TEM revealed that nano-silica particles were uniformly distributed over the surface. 5 wt % nano-silica particle additions in PU-5 wt % silicone polyacrylate base showed superior mechanical properties than other concentrations. Color change measurements showed that nano-silica particle addition had no effect on its graffiti resistance. Hence PU-5 wt % silicone polyacrylate, 5 wt % nano-silica showed excellent graffiti resistance and mechanical properties.

BACKGROUND Osteoarthritis(OA)is the most common joint disorder,is associated with an increasing socioeconomic impact owing to the ageing *** To analyze and compare the efficacy and safety of bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells(BM-MSCs)and adipose tissue-derived MSCs(AD-MSCs)in knee OA management from published randomized controlled trials(RCTs).METHODS Independent and duplicate electronic database searches were performed,including PubMed,EMBASE,Web of Science,and Cochrane Library,until August 2021 for RCTs that analyzed the efficacy and safety of AD-MSCs and BM-MSCs in the management of knee *** visual analog scale(VAS)score for pain,Western Ontario McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC),Lysholm score,Tegner score,magnetic resonance observation of cartilage repair tissue score,knee osteoarthritis outcome score(KOOS),and adverse events were *** was performed on the R-platform using OpenMeta(Analyst)***-one studies,involving 936 patients,were *** one study compared the two MSC sources without patient randomization;hence,the results of all included studies from both sources were pooled,and a comparative critical analysis was *** At six months,both AD-MSCs and BM-MSCs showed significant VAS improvement(P=0.015,P=0.012);this was inconsistent at 1 year for BM-MSCs(P<0.001,P=0.539),and AD-MSCs outperformed BM-MSCs compared to controls in measures such as WOMAC(P<0.001,P=0.541),Lysholm scores(P=0.006;P=0.933),and KOOS(P=0.002;P=0.012).BM-MSC-related procedures caused significant adverse events(P=0.003)compared to AD-MSCs(P=0.673).CONCLUSION Adipose tissue is superior to bone marrow because of its safety and consistent efficacy in improving pain and functional *** trials are urgently warranted to validate our findings and reach a consensus on the ideal source of MSCs for managing knee OA.

Objective:To assess the knowledge,attitude,and practice(KAP)regarding COVID-19 among COVID-19 patients and their relation with the ***:This cross-sectional study was carried out among COVID-19 patients(18-year-old or older)consecutively admitted to a dedicated COVID-19 hospital located in northwest Rajasthan,*** regarding socio-demographic parameters,KAP,and primary composite outcome(admission to intensive care unit,mechanical ventilation,or in-hospital death)were *** scores were compared between different demographic variables and primary composite *** between different demographic variables,primary composite outcomes,and KAP scores were determined through multivariate linear ***,the correlation among KAP scores was ***:Out of the total 222 patients,most of them(65.76%)had average KAP scores towards *** mean scores for knowledge were 7.88,with an overall correct rate of 71.63%;the mean attitude scores were 2.42,with an overall correct rate of 60.50%;the mean practice scores were 5.12,with an overall correct rate of 64.00%.Patients who met the primary composite outcomes had higher knowledge scores,but lower attitude and practice *** result showed a significant positive correlation between the level of education,socioeconomic class,and knowledge,attitude,and practice towards *** towards COVID-19 was significantly associated with a positive attitude and good ***:Our findings show that adult COVID-19 patients have average KAP towards COVID-19 among COVID-19 *** attitude and practice towards COVID-19 are associated with adverse outcomes,so it is suggested to strengthen attitude and practice towards COVID-19 to improve the outcomes.
